Thats just sick, there has to be a better way to remove saddam than that. And whoever said a few deaths are not important in the big picture; What if that happened to someone you loved or cared about? would it still be negligible?

There has never been a war without civilian casualties. With the war you are pretty sure civilians will die but with saddam you are assured civilians will die, Saddam killed 2 million of his own people in 24 years. More importantly that is footage that was given to al jezeera (an arab news sation) by the iraqi government so you can expect they will make it look like more civilians died than actually did.

Whether its the truth, or somewhat doctored, innocent people are dying, the people who started this war, Bush and Hussein see none of the suffering caused by them, except on CNN, and that is a republican propaganda network anyway

my, my, aren't we anti-war? ^_^

but in all seriousness i'm sure that you understand that, at least, it isn't what happened in, say, World War II with indiscriminant bombing. and another you that comes into play is that there are BOMBS. bombs go BOOM and send stuff flying all over ther place. as precision guided there munnitions may be, if anyone is too close this will happen. just count your lucky stars that it isn't much, much worse.

i believe it is pretty safe to believe that the number of coalition losses thus far is about the same number as civilian losses. one is already one too many, but you've got to admit the US is taking, i hate to say this, relatively few casualties. and let's not forget to remind everyone that Arabic TV minus Kuwaiti TV has shown POWs and KIAs on TV as well. would you like to show those as well, MJClock?

I think bombing is just wrong altogether, because in anything, there is a margin of error, and even when the PGM's hit their targets, innocents may still be hurt. And it seems to me that the US wasnt so pro bombs when they were falling on pearl harbor. But I'm sure you wouldnt know anything about that.

I'm tired of hearing this "Republican Media Puppet" bull-crap. The liberals are just pissed cause the media is solely resposible for making them look stupid. When Iraq said they didn't have any scuds, they believed them. But when we proved them wrong by reporting to the public that Iraq responded with scud missles all they had to say in their defense was that CNN is a "Republican Propaganda Network". Tis' truely is sad...

I am anti war. And this is the reason why.

But really, what do you expect? Just because these aren't shown on western tv, doesn't mean we don't know it is happening.

War is hell. People die. And I really didn't need to see that shit to know it was happening.

from what the photo you have displayed. i have noticed that the news channel is all from ARAB news channel. looks like their countries like to glorify the violence of the war by giving intense close-up photos unlike CNN, who is doing fine.
I mean what the heck is their ultimate motive is going to be? to be totally against the USA. but how about giving the ARAB public of intense close-up photos of how Iraqi soldiers giving no mercy to US soldiers; killing and toturing the POWS.
i mean where is democracy that is practiced in the news channel. the news channel should jus be indiscrimate or unbiased and show us the truth, that's it.
News channel can only make a standpoint when there's a discussion point make by some brave, trusted and experienced expertises who makes their own standpoint; whether to hate it or like it with info and evidence to support it. just like a debate.

CNN is NOT a republician propaganda machine. I can say this as a liberal too. CNN tries its hardest to stay middle of the pack, which it has done well. The reason they don't show the casualties is because, well, the viewing public doesn't want to see gore. THe casualties are still reported by CNN, but by words, not grusome pictures.

Bush should still apolegize for the missle landing in the residential area though...

CNN is alright in my book. It tries as hard as it can while still trying to get decent ratings. I've watched their coverage more than anyone else, and I've yet to see anything flagrantly conservative, except for a few generals as guest speakers. Bah.

They weren't Scuds, it was reported at the time they were Scuds, but later confirmed they were not.

As for Civilian deaths... http://www.iraqbodycount.net/bodycount.htm

I would like to point out this offers quite conservative estimates.

Hey Mary Jane Clock.... over here... maybe you could get some of the dead people killed after 9/11. Or hey, maybe some of the Iraqi people tortured and killed by their own government. But let's not stop there, how about all the Kurds killed via chemical weapons by Saddam, perhaps your morbid affixation can be cured by little girls asphyxiated by mustard gas, or the twitch brought on by the use of nerve agents. Wait, yet, how about the thousands of Israelis, blown to shit by suicide bombers!? Get bent and go home. Ignorance is not an excuse in a legal, ethical, or morale context. Your views are narrow.

Dig_The_Man, your ignorance astounds me, how about the British soldiers killed by israeli booby traps in the 60's? or how about the british pilots shot down by american surface to air missiles. Or how about all of the palestinians that starve to death every day because of Israeli sanctions? or how about the young palestinian children killed in Israeli helicopter attacks?

Your view is narrow

I am not an extremist, I would never attend an anti war rally, nor do I even voice my views at school. But we could argue this all day and its neither here nor there, so how about no more personal shots at each other?

None of you are arguing. You're just going back and forth with sophisticated insults. It's kind of fun, yet embarrassing to watch. Like "Jerry Springer".

Are People on crack or been sniffing glue? There has yet to be a war where innocent civilians do not get killed---yes precision weapons were used and yes the explosive radius is ALAWAYS greater than the target area but think about this=

1)AS BAD as the civilian casualties are they would be ALOT worse if they DIDNT USE precision weaponary and just CARPET BOMBED the area to hit the desired target--which would kill and destroy far more people and buildings

2)Your a complete idiot if you think precision style weapons are THAT accurate...youve been playing too many video games....precision weaponary (laser guided, etc.) merely gives us a far better chance of hitting the target but mechanical and human error plays a part in accuracy.

**Bush is in it for the oil/money argument**

The allegations that the US is in this for "the money/the oil" keeps comeing up like a broken record=Politically it simply is not feasible to "take over" iraq---economically is not either as most of the "profits" from the oil would have to be diverted towards rebuilding infrastructure, humanitarian concerns, etc. AND the cost of maintaining a military prescence there for an extended time frame (garrisson, etc) politically would be suicide for the US and economically to costly. It would be far cheaper and more politicaly stable to free the iraq people and allow them to be self governing.

***There is no direct threat to the US***
I disagree with this arguement completely..while saddam may not be publicly admiting it or showing it---He is undoubtedly founding/aiding the foundalmentalist terror groups that have not only struck the US but I noticed no one mentions in their arguements other targets like the philipines? Yah yah..."no proof that he is" thing comes into play BUT it definitely BEHOOVES him to support them particulary if it weakens the US in anyway---and yes I believe he particularly since he seems to have enough money to have a bounty on the heads of the coalition/usa forces.

Blahhhh...Thats enough of my views---Im gonna look at some flash films and play some AVP2/EVAC online at my fave server.....and remember kiddies=ALL you PRO/CON war people are able to express your opinions openly due to the sacrifices people have made for you in various wars...the freedoom you enjoy has come at a price---you may not have paid for it...but NEVER take it for granted...particularly since I myself doubt many would make the sacrifices necessary.
