what wonders never cease...
apparently there are Iraqis that are dressing up as coalition troops and as their fellow country men are trying to surrender, they promptly execute them on site. this is on top of the surrender/ambush of the Iraqi troops.
from what i see, i don't see too many Iraqis surrendering as of now. it's either they die en masse fighting the coalition forces, or in kind with their own. it's like being trapped between a rock and a hard place. looks like the same for our boys in the Gulf.
on a lighter note, it's snowing in Amman, Jordan. who knew...

I heard about that. It was also reported when Iraqi soldiers are captured, most of them speak of being relieved they aren't going to be "injected with poison."

They also had a group of fighters attacking from inside a functioning hospital in an attempt to bait us into bombing and causing lots of civilian causualities. We took it over without one civilian death.
Inside they had tons of guns, ammo, thousands of chemical/bio suits and a military tank (yes, inside the hospital). More Geneva convention violations. Yet we are still the bad guy to the Arab world. It's whack out there.

Don't blame them, their media is even more corrupt and biased than the ny times, if you can believe that.

The only reason some of them are leery is that we bailed on them in '91, because we were following the fucked up UN again back then. Many thousands who tried the Iraqi coup back then were slaughtered when we backed out. They want to make sure we are really going to take out Saddam this time.
A good example is the southern city (Bashra?-sp?) who has now turned against the Iraqi army and is fighting with UK and US troops there. They have been waiting to see if we are going to keep our word this time. It will be similar across the country when people think Saddam is really going to be ousted.

well, there is a general mistrust of Americans, or westerners, in the Middle East. and most of the Arab world sees Saddam Hussein as some sort of hero fighting against all odd against an undefeatable enemy. plus the US supports Isreal, which is a big no-no over there. it's a bit sick and twisted, but that's the way they see things.
basically the US and UK need to somehow get their PsyOps into gear and get some trust. and they got their work sure cut out for them...

Not one but 2 "rocket scientists" for the price of one...again commentary that either has no real relevance to the subject OR someone ranting from a disinformed/emotional position on a subject they clearly do not comprehend or have failed to research on a compentent level.
Innocent iraqi's used as human shields...iraqi soldiers fearfull of surrendeing due to a regime's program to "find traitors"---->and those 2 cant even discuss the intial subject of this post.

Fuck i'm sick of this one-eyed - lop-sided war!
I havn't seen 1 Iraqi plane downed since this battle begun. Why? Because America has 100% Air-Dominance and has the most hi-tech Satelite guided munitions the world has ever seen, fighing in a dessert country where there's nowhere to hide -- NOW, PLZ IMAGINE YOU ARE A PROUD IRAQI DEFENDING YOUR HOMELAND - where are you gonna hide to save yourself from this devastating air assult??!?!?

i'd hardly think that they can even call it a homeland when it isn't really a "home".
in a home you can say what you want to say without repercussion. in a home you don't have to live in fear of dying because you say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing. in a home you have the freedom to go where you want when you want. you can flee to save yourself from such a devastating assault. but as we know there are no refugees because Saddam Hussein won't allow for that. if they are fighting for anything they are fighting for a wicked regime. not their "home"land.

crap! ..already 5 million Iraqis live as refugees outside their "homeland" but this time America dropped some 30 million leaflets warning all iraqis to "STAY AT HOME TO AVOID BEING KILLED" ..they actually don't want Saddam getting out of Iraq alive - Simple!!

you don't honestly believe that Saddam would leave with a herd of refugees to leave Iraq do you? if i were an Iraqi i'd leave the country fast. the US sent those leaflets to those that chose to stay. i'm sure they didn't really chose to stay, but that's beside the point. and the US is confident enough with their guided munnitions that they won't hit civilian homes. that's the purpose of the leaflets.

hahahaa! You make it sound like every refugee in iraq is walking in sandels or even bare-foot..
I don't see Saddam flying out of iraq koz patriot missiles are set to fire at anything that's not transmitting the US beacon signal- not to mention the radar coverage of the limited airspace inside of the old "no-fly-zone".
I mean by car or similar - then doing a near border crossing with large numbers of followers or supporters (sure - disguised as refugees if it were possible) It was good enough for Bin-Laden escape..

granted this is even if Saddam is even alive or capable of escape.
