Erkie's right, here in the AF a regular to a newb is like a king to a peasant, so don't push your luck. You wouldn't have survived in this forum a year ago, every reg was on top of their flame game and I saw newbs come and go like cheap whores. We've grown tired of all the newb crap in the past several months and just don't have the same vigor as we once did when it came to flaming some discipline into newbs or flaming them hell out of our forum. Although things were much more negitive in those days I'd still perfer them to all the crap I see in the AF today.

Although... I do understand you've grown quite fond of this forum and probably want to raise your status here by posting more, it's a typical newb tendency, even I did it a long time ago, but there is no way you can fast foward the process by filling the forum with crap. It takes time, good techincal audio knowledge and some witty jokes to become worthy of being called an AF regular... not caffeine.

Anyhow, I didn't mean to put the spotlight on you, Stealth, because there are plenty of people this post can apply to, some newbs and some regs even.

If the artist can somehow distract people from not caring how the song turns out in the end, then that right there is some perfect shit, even if it's bad.

A track is good, when:
1. It sounds good.
2. It doesn't get boring.
3. It gets you in some kind of mood.

The rest, can be whatever the artist finds cool to do.
A melody is good, or not, and isn't necessary, the effort put in isn't important, a track can be so hard to play (when recorded live), but still sound shit.
That's why I listen to anything, anything could be good. So many people just rate music before they even heard it, like this: "Oh its jazz taht sux0rz, cuz I just listen to hiphop"
Jazz actually can be good, just listen to it, and then say it's shit.
So whether it's good or not shouldn't relate to the effort put in, or the difficulty of playing/composing/mixing/whatevering it.
Hip-hop can as well be good, It just has to have that sound, like for me, per example Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, that's just really relaxing for me to listen to.
There are also many of us who have "that favorite artist".. I would not think of the artist who made it, I'd just listen if it's good or not. Many people who have that favorite artist, do not want to give in that a particular track made by that artist is actually really bad.

That's just my opinion.

Well i may count as a newb but you cant spit me out that easy im going to keep posting wether or not people like me . And besides im here for one reason only to express my opinion and well exchange experience with others with a simerler tastes and hobbys.

If i want to throw in a few newb jokes here and there i shall but they shall be witty and part of the current conversation , because im sure you where all new at one point or another and im sure you humor and style of posts evolved from your many years on this forum.

O and i found out the secret last night its all in the timing you cant have a song droll on or have it too short lots of breaks ruin it but the right amount allows for an exellent bassline or set of harmonics to kick in just when you want it.

I'm sure that's why plenty of people are here, but "COCK JOKE!" or "LOL I HUMPD YER MUM!" are not opinions, not experinces and definitely not funny, they are just stupid. Some people are here because of the audio and others are here because they know they'd get banned in any other forum for spamming this much, the AF rarely gets any mods. Sometimes the current conversation isn't worth adding to and it'd be best just to leave it alone. Like the phrase "Don't feed the Trolls" in the real world, it's "Don't feed the newbie spammers" here in the AF... or at least it should be, I know before it was something like, "Flame 'em to death."

I think it's because you were already a popular producer in the trance genre at the time, so you just got more respect here in the AF because of how well you were doing in the AP. The only newbs that came to the AF late last year and are still here posting today are myself and Solus I think... everyone else either stopped or got too scared to come back.
