"Er.. I love you too"
Well, I agree with you har, It has really lost its meaning...
A Month later me and the girlfriend broke up. Wheres the love?! I might sound a bit heartless but I think the word has lost all meaning. These days it is said that about 30-45% of newly wed couples will get divorced.. Does that not tell you that 'True love' is something only found in Meg Ryan movies??
Hey, Meg Ryan is bomb mmkay? lol. When someone gets divorced. they could possibly still be in love, it just wasnt working out for otehr reasons. It happens to the best.
And that bullship about 'Everyone has a soul mate' or that 'love at first sight' nonsense. Come'on, these are 3,000,000,0000 women in the world you're bound to come across one you might actually like enough to marry.. But Love? Jaysus thats rare these days!
Of course its rare, how often is it you walk up to someone and feel a connection.. No. not an erection, a connection.
I for one believe everyone has a soul mate, and sure. love can happen at first sight. For those who are extremely observative and have EXCELLENT judge of character, its rare lol.
Whos with me?
Me, I geuss ? To an extent.

Yeah, it's insane and stupid.
"Going out for a month"? What about when you bf in the 7th grade tells you that?
It's like a joke. "I'm not your mommy, you don't love me."

Same happened to me this summer, everytime one of us would leave on msn we'd say I love you then she said "You never tell me in person:(" so I tell her in person the next day and she says it back. Next morning, "I liked it better as friends"
I love you Virginlungs:D

i have to agree there aint a book of film out there that doesnt use those words and it had become a meaningless phrase. Its like murders they happen yet people arent fased by them unless they knew the person because the whole concept of death has been thrown around so much just like "i love you" anyone and everyone uses it in most situations. like say ur 7 and u have a crush on a girl u always say oh i love her!

You respond with "I love me too."
It's evasive but it relieves tension and will make her laugh.
problem solved.

Meh. Most people are too busy looking for love to even notice when they have it. I reckon few people actually know when theyre in love with someone and when theyre in love with being in love. People want to know they have someone to be there for them, but does anyone actually know when the right time to say ''i love you'' is.
Possibly when you feel the most close to the other person. But then it all crumbles at your feet if they dont say it back.
Ugh, love is wayy too confusing.
Release your inner crazy.

You're right,"I love you" really holds no meaning anymore i think we should say something like "My love for you is everlasting"
or one of these:
"My love, the passion i feel for thou burns like the hottest flame"
" My dear, my heart aches every time you leave my sight"
I guarantee those lines will get you laid.

Yeah,it really isn't something you'd say to your mom when she's going to the store or something.
"Hey, i'm going to the store to buy some milk, we're out of milk"
"My dear, my heart aches every time you leave my sight"

LOL, no kidding.
Not like my mom would ever say I love you anyways but if one of those sayings ever escaped her mouth, I would shit my pants.
If anyone ever said those to me I would see them in a whole different light...
Creepy...meaningful and cute..
But creepy

Yes, but what else would you expect from a population consisting mainly of easily embittered teenage males?

It's true that a lot of couples break up. Why? Because they don't "love" eachother, but they think that the other one is hot and only wants to show-off with them. "Hey look what I got yesterday, I got myself a new boyfriend. Looks hot doesn't it?" Sadly this happens very much these days. Me on the other hand can say that i found true love. I've been together with my girlfriend for almost 8 months, and still there's no loss of love.
The fact is that you schould only be very lucky if you found your true love, look at parents..they stay together pretty much. ('cept for the ones that decide to divorce because of stupid things)
Just listen to me, anyone will find their true love, it might take a while, but when you finally found her/him luck is always on your side.
I hope I was of some use.

People could muck up relationships with the words 'I love you'
I mean, you could be going out with your soulmate for life, but then by saying 'I love you' after going out for like a month, sure it may be special at the time, but it's usually empty. So then when that same person whose been saying I love you to this woman for ages is fit to burst for his love for her, because he's abused the words for so long, when he says it with meaning......The woman just takes it as a word as usual. The words lose their meaning.

It's not a BS sentance, it is just that overemotional people use it when they are attracted to someone, but not actually in love.
I might sound a bit heartless but I think the word has lost all meaning.
That's nice, but psychologists arrived at an exact definition of different types of love, including the "true love" that you poo-poo. Just because most people preffer to fuck around, that doesn't mean that an emotion ceases to exist.
