I will have to agree a little bit with you there although I don't think it's a discrass it is a funny cartoon show. And what other shows combined hamsters and anime? Belive it or not the orignal "Adventures of Hamtaro" Book was made right here in America. Japan made the anime show. Im fact when I do get my hamster Im gonna name him Hamtaro. And If i get a female Im gonna name her Bejiou.

If you are getting a new pet, buy a BOOK. Nobody on NG is likely to give you info on proper care. I work in the pet industry and people take such lousy care of animals. I will tell you this: Only buy one hamster. They are solitary animals. They are territorial and they will kill eachother, unless you buy dwarf hamsters... but make sure they are of the same sex.

Well When I first Studied Hamster is was about a year ago after 2 months of study hamster i bought one it was like hell he bit and scracthed but aftert 1 week he became the cutest thing you could ever see he is so soft he is quiet and hes big and is so clam and hes about one year old.
Some advice buy a small cage then eventually buy a bigger and bigger one if you just go ahead and buy a big cage the hasmter cna't adapt right and will feel unsecure and hide in the corners.

Well Actually I have read in some Hamster books that you can start out with the large cage as long as you have some places that make it feel secure, like a little hamster house, a couple of plactic tubes, someplace that it will feel cozy. The pet store also told me that you can leave it in the travle cage for a day or 2 and then put it in the big cage. Did you know that the average life span for a hamster is 1000 days.
