If you have a male and a female and it looks like the female isn’t moving from the corner and isn’t dead she is probably nursing newborns. Keep your hands away for a while. The male WILL bite you. Oh yah, and if the cage is too small or you don’t start giving them more food when the babies are first born a lot of them will be eaten by the parents as a survival technique........... Fucked up huh?

My hamster was obtained from PetCo for free. She was surrendered by a dumbass who couldn't take care of it and ended up hurting the little thing so she now has only one eye. Blinky is alive and well now, though. She has yet to try to bite me, or anyone for that matter, and has grown to monster size, roughly that of a young guinnea pig.
I'd show you a pic but I can't find the disc ...

my friend had a couple. first things first, dont get alot cause my friend's had babies and the parents ate the kids. it was sick. but then again you said your only getting one, so nevermind. oh, and make sure to always feed it alot and clean its cage at least once a week. and whoever mentioned bunnicula or whatever, that bunny vampire book, that book scared me so much! when i was smaller i had really bad nightmares about it

My ex girlfriend/fiance had a hamster. She was normal when she got it, but after a while it made her turn into a heartless bitch. Then she made my life hell and almost made me go crazy. But as for advice on getting one, don't. The fuckers are pure evile! Muhahahahaha! (blink, blink)
