Plagiarism Problem

This question goes to anyone who has a DeviantArt website.
Has anyone of you ever heard of/experienced problems of plagiarism in this site?
What stops people from easily ripping you off without any consequences in DeviantArt?
Is it really an important issue, or am I just paranoid?

BAAAH HA HA HA ! My guess is that you've ripped off someone and now you fear the repercussions! Nothing sickens me more than a weak soldier.

I've never ripped off anyone in my life. But I want to know the risks before posting stuff that matters to me on D.A.

But if I write it on my artwork, it will be a little sign in a corner, as so not to ruin the picture. That can be cropped easily with whatever software you use.
What I really need to know is if this cases are frequent.

make it smaller and in your image, your image will not be destroyed :)

if your that good, people will notice when youre being ripped
when you suck, no one will care...

mwahaha virtually my only artwork is sigs, and almost all of those are animated, and not good enough to merit multi-frame cropping.

1. Write your name on the picture in Ultra-Violet ink.

2. Smear peanut butter all over the back of the picture.

3. Dry it, then peel the solid peanut butter off and store for later.

4.Scan picture.

5. Post on Deviantart

7. You shout "Oh dear! A silly noob has pilferated my portrait!"

8. Noob says "OMG 1T R MIN3!!!!!!!"

9 . You print out your work and shine UV lamp on it, thus proveing it yours!

10. Show silly noob the peanut butter print of your work.

Unless they're going to benefit from your work in some way that you would have otherwise benefitted if not for their thievery, then what difference does it make?

I guess it'd be different if they entered your work in a contest or something and accepted a reward for it that may have otherwise been yours. But except for that, it probably won't matter.

Even if they were to steal your work and put it in their portfolio, they'd be screwed as soon as they got a job based on it, because it would be immediately obvious that they aren't capable of the same quality of work as soon as they're given any sort of assignment, if they had to steal it in the first place.

Well if they steal ur ideas, that means u have good ideas. :]
Back in Wesnoth several dudes stole my maps, changed the signature and faked that maps as their own. I was really "upset" nt to say more, anyway they got banned 4ever, and almost every1 heard about me :P (Admins and GM's were involved)
