In the future... When we will have created robots that will be able to do anything a human does. Communism will have to take-over democracy.
Firstly, people wouln't need to work because they'll have a robot to do it for them... Robots will be farmers, miners, engineers, doctors, cooks etc... People will earn money from doing nothing! Some people will own many 100s of these robots and will earn a great deal of money... But eventually, the amount of robots will increase rapidly... So much so that the workforce will be full to the top! Food and luxury will be in abundance.
Because there would be just so much luxury... It won't make a difference whether you're rich or poor because there would be so much luxury! It's liek comparing Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey... Sure, there's like a 48 Billion dollar difference; but their lifestyles are pretty much the same.
WIth so much equality in terms of conditions of life... The government will be forced to upgrade to a fairer system; like communism! But wait! What about corruption? Well, first of all... No one will need to steal any money because it wouldn't make the slightest difference to their lifestyles! And secondly... The robots will be running our government. So yeah.
Please don't flame this saying "OMFG the robots will take over the planet OMG OMG OMG"
ROBOTS ARE MACHINES... No matter how sophisticated they are, the chance of getting attacked by a robot are exactly the same as being attacked by your computer...
A fool who's watched too much terminator or I-robot who doen't know shit about computers will try to convince people that robots will take over the world... Which is absolute rubbish! A computer is a set of switches that turn on and off according to boundaries set by the programmer. The boundaries can NEVER be breached.

Communism, like capitalism is an economic system. Democracy is a social one. And they can coexist quite agreeably.

What is the human brain but a computer made from tissue instead of silicon? If a computer that is self aware is made, then it can choose to disobey its programming.

Yeah ok, if we're making robot slaves, I'm pretty sure we're going to avoid the whole self-awareness thing.

so wait aminute. You expect buinesses to pay people when there is a robot that doesnt need to be paid right next to the person? You are stupid. Why do you thing there is such a shortage of jobs in america right now? Number one: outsourcing. Number two: factory jobs are performed by robots. The world would be the same if there were so many robots. The world economy would be crap and we would be back to bartering with chickens and stones.
And secondly... The robots will be running our government. So yeah.
so wait a second... The robots have all the jobs, and they control the government too you say? Weell, then, we are screwed arent we. There is no way to stop them if they overcome their programming and decide we are a neusance or some crap like that eh?

I disagree. i'm not sure if we will reach proper AI anytime soon, but humans will certainly be constantly striving for it.
we're constantly trying to make computers and robots more and more like us, both physically, and 'mentally' (if i can use that word).
of course, theoretically, whose to say a fully functional AI with free-will will choose to rebel and bring on a matrix/ I robot style future. whose to say it will harbour any ill will or feelings of dominance?

Pay attent when Immoral Libertarian screws you, boy. It's the most satisfying sexual experience you'll ever have.
And by that I mean that for the most part, communist countries ARE democratic. That's why they call everything 'the people's" (insert building/object of cultural or bureaucratic importance here).
Russia had elections, they just sucked because they were only allowed to have one political party. Russia, also, was not a "true" communism. In fact, why the fuck am I even talking about a country that no longer exists because it had an overcompromised economic system?
In short, you're a dumbass on many, many levels.

In 50 years we’ve gone from computers the size or warehouses that could only do basic single mathematic problems to computers the size of finger nails that can simultaneously process millions, if not billions of calculations per second and show that information as complicated visuals or sounds…so I wouldn’t be so sure.

I dunno if anyone realizes this but governments are made to fit the times and the people. If the people happen to be robots then i believe we MIGHT JUST need a new government. MAYBE if we don't actually have to do any work. but i dunno. it just seems like it might make sense.

Even if the glaring gaps in your arguments continuity are ignored... how can you say that no one will be working? Someone must program the robots, and someone must repair the robots, and organize and direct the robots. So would those people do it for free? If they don't... well they're the only ones doing work for money, so it's not really communism... and if they do... then there is obvious corruption in the system. And if robots do ALL tasks, then who is to say that they won't logically figure that we're simply mooching off of them and simply eliminate us? Then we'll all be dead and not rich. Your argument is poor.

Robots will repair robots, and they will program other robots etc... They will act as doctors to one another. Like a human system.
So would those people do it for free? If they don't... well they're the only ones doing work for money, so it's not really communism... and if they do... then there is obvious corruption in the system.
As stated above... The robots will have their own system and humans will reap all the rewards. Humans won't have to do ANYTHING. The robot sosciety will include doctors (that will repair robots) Programmers, that will program robots etc...
And if robots do ALL tasks, then who is to say that they won't logically figure that we're simply mooching off of them and simply eliminate us? Then we'll all be dead and not rich. Your argument is poor.
Um, that's the I-Robot fiction. Robots wont have a "Pleasure" system. Nothing is ever going to make them happy because they will not be contious. They will only ever be "Artifically" Intelligent... A set of switches opening and closing.
They will not want to achieve world-domination under any circumstance because it would not do anything for them. They will be made so that the ONLY thing they know how to do is work. There is no way they can go outside these boundaries. The slightest misfunction would cause the robot to crash (as in stop working).
In fact the robots will be Artificially Intelligent "Expert Systems" They will only perform tasks; but to a degree that is slightly more flexible but within boundaries.
To people calling me stupid... Many scientists were called crazy for thinking up of inventing things such as the telephone, computers, television etc... Just because an idea is "out there" doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
Ok, for those people Who keep thinking "OMG THE ROBOTS will kill us to take over"
Get this: The robots will NEVER want ANYTHING! They Will only work. They will not be able to think outside of the logical boundaries of what they need to do. It's as if my computer tower started dancing around and talking! We all know that a computer... No matter how much GHZ or RAM it's got, will NEVER EVER be able to do that because it doesn't have the required software or hardware to make it move physically.
To make it move... I would probably have to add some artificial legs to my computer... Then I would ned to add the doftware to control these legs to make it dance! Now If I wanted to make it walk... I would need to have MORE software to make it walk! yes... The dancing might be artificially intelligent so that it gets "synchronized" with the music... But the dancing motion will NEVER develop into a full, AI walking cycle because It doesn't 'know' that putting forward one leg after the other will make it move forward. GET IT? Robots are never going to be conscious! And if they did, Why would they want to kill humans and not other robots? They won't even know what a human is for christ's sake! All they will "Know" will be that they need to have completed a task by a certain time ect...

Um, at least I'm smart enough to think outside the cube (saying "square" would contradict the expression itself coz it's so comon).
Anyway... People like you never invent anything bcause you think that anything that doesn't exist is a joke. Well fuck you. I've done many things before and I know for a fact that anything is possible; because the universe is infinite... So are it's possibilities.
I'm aware that I have left MANY blank holes. But so did the people who invented the computer (and their were many). In fact the people who first thought up of computer concepts... Didn't even know that what they had discovered would some day be used to make a computer.
I just happen to have designed a skeleton! Now all we need are the concepts. It's still a fantasy... But so was every invetion of mankind at some stage. If 10 years ago you said that by 2006, we would be able to grow human organs from stem-cells, idiots like you would have laughed like a bunch of monkeys at the thought. Now that it's within reach (and proven) those monkeys have shut the hell up and are even wanting to take part in the project.
I'm no scientist. But you didn't need a scientist to think up of a telephone before it was invented... It would have been thought as: A device that would allow humans to communicate from long distances. (Anyone want to laugh at that? I'll laugh at you)

Computers were designed for... COMPUTING. Unlike humans, computers have the ability to store electrical signals within other devices. However this can only be acheived by programing the information into the computer. Computers dont have the ability to self program to the ultimatum that we do. Computers will tell you that 1 + 1 = 2, because we programed them to do so. And every single time you ask the computer what one plus one is, they will give you the same answer unless they are programmed for a different one. This is how they work, humans weren't designed to work for anyone but themselfs, this is why they have the natural ability to harvest information through the senses through chemical and electrical signals created by different parts of the body.
So far, i consider computers to be 2 dimentional, almost like a grid. You give it a question, it gives you an answer. And both things must always be the same for a computer to get the right answer, for example if somone programed a computer to answer, yes, every time somone asked it (on the keyboard) are you stupid? if you asked it, are you fupid instead of stupid, they wont be able to answer.
I cant even fathom the type of technology that would be required to bring the 3rd dimention to computers, allowing them to do what we do, judge the enviorment, and then, using internal knowledge, make a decision.

Lol, so let me get this straight: you don't even know a common phrase like "thinking outside the box?" Pathetic.
Anyway... People like you never invent anything bcause you think that anything that doesn't exist is a joke. Well fuck you. I've done many things before and I know for a fact that anything is possible; because the universe is infinite... So are it's possibilities.
No, because communism is a load of shit. Communism is about as realistic as pink unicorns with dildos for horns. Communism has been tried on and a large scale and is always beaten by a capitalist nation. Whether it be military or economics: communism goes under. The best shot communism had was the USSR, and the onyl reason they lasted so long is because they conquered basically a continent. And they were still beaten by a country no bigger than China.
You're just too much of an idiot to see how futile your beliefs are.
I'm aware that I have left MANY blank holes. But so did the people who invented the computer (and their were many). In fact the people who first thought up of computer concepts... Didn't even know that what they had discovered would some day be used to make a computer.
The problem here is people do know what communism is what a bunch of horse shit it is. Also, computers are a success, communism is a failure. Once again, you're too much of a dumbfuck to realize how idiotic your ideas are. You should just give up on life and commit suicide.
I just happen to have designed a skeleton! Now all we need are the concepts. It's still a fantasy... But so was every invetion of mankind at some stage. Actually, you can't grow organs with stemcells, stemcells repair them. And by the way, did I tell you how stupid communism is and anyone who thinks it's reachable is an idiot? Well, that's you. You're just like the morons who thought they could cut down an oak tree with a feather.
I'm no scientist. But you didn't need a scientist to think up of a telephone before it was invented... It would have been thought as: A device that would allow humans to communicate from long distances.
Way to show your arrogance. You have no stumbled upon anything new, you mental-midget, communism was discovered before you were in your daddy's wrinkled sac. You're not innovative and the only person to think of such an idiotic notion. For the last God damn time: communism has been tried and fucking f-a-i-l-e-d.

Yes, and soon we shall talk through our anus instead of our mouth because it's more socially acceptable....

We will still need people to maintain the robots, diganos them, robots cant take care of themselfs, and if you invent a robot that can take care of itself, what's going to take care of that robot.

The same applies to robots.

I don't believe that communism would be a good solution to having robots working in place of humans. Communism in theory sounds like a good idea but it has been proven time and time again to fail. Why is that? The reason is that people lose the incentive to be productive because no matter what they do they will recieve the same thing. There is no way to rise in society, so people don't work as hard. Also just because manual labor is replaced by robotic labor, it doesn't produce more capital. Also, manual labor isn't the only jobs there are. An industry that would be really damaged by the robots is the entertainment industry. If people will recieve the same amount of wealth for doing nothing as they would for working. Most people would do nothing. So unless these robots have brains similar to our own which allows them to think for themselves, create, imagine, etc. they wouldn't want to work either. If robots develop consciousness enough to create movies, telivision, music, literature, they're going to want to work just as little as everyone else. Why would robots, who think and act the same way humans do, do things that humans are unwilling to do? On the other hand if they are only programmed to work so no one else has to, humanity wouldn't progress. There would be no new ideas, no new products, no technological advances. What would be the purpose of wealth if nothing can be gained from it. So strongly do not believe that communism will not be put in place due to robots because when humans don't work humanity doesn't progress. Who wants to live in the same conditions for millions of years?

First off, what is it with people and the obsession of technology? Yes, conveniences are good, but if robots did everything, everyone would just be a fatass that sat around all day doing nothing. Hmm, somehow that does not sound compelling to me. I would rather work a days work then be provided for like a fat hog that is being fattened up for the roast.
And secondly, while Communism sounds nice in pretty on paper, it is really pathetic in the real world, because the people are just above the level of scum. And yes, the benevelont dictators in power do as they please.
