Protests are going on everywhere. all throughout the U.S. and Canada. Music videos are not protraying these protests. yesterday i got on the subway and it was filled with anti-war stickers. i saw one that i loved, and grabbed it. it said "if mankind doesn't put an end to war, war will put an end to mankind". now all these seem very bold statements and actions of anti-war that are everywhere now. my question is how effective do you think these protests are in actually making a difference in the war? are they just ignored, or do they have even the littlest impact of change?

Baseless? they do not want war. war kills people. war is the easy way out. no, i don't their opinions are baseless. and there are so many protests going on at this very moment, i don't think they deserve to be ignored.

Get some facts, then you can try to insult me again.
I know you aren't talking to me, since I have never made the statement "Bush is gay", And my main reason for being anti-war is .... (I bet almost anyone on the politics board knows what is next.)
Pre-emptive war. ugh...
And from reading daRiCa's posts... I don't see that she has done the same, either.
So... who are you talking to?

How is going against that a reason not to go to war?
Ever hear of the Cold War? Cuban Missile Crisis?
I'm glad you weren't around, or in power back then.
I get the feeling that if you were, we'd all be recouperating from nuclear war.
By declaring war upon Iraq, we give Saddam an excuse to use his weapons. He may have done so eventually, but I still don't think "what if..." constitutes a reasonable cause for war.

you're absolutely right, why should we have to struggle with diplomacy? Are we a nation that likes a challenge? No we are a nation that gets results.
War is the easy way out indeed, is there any other way to solve it so quickly? Iraq's government must be disarmed by force. The UN paradox was a fun game, but now is not the time for games.

Hey, stop trying to trick me into saying I love Hitler, it isn't nice :-(
Don't worry about what government I like, if you want to waste time and energy protesting, go ahead. If you really cared about american life you wouldn't endanger our troops by lowering their morale.

6 moths ago he offered 35,000 dollars to people who suicide bomb America, 3 moths ago the Iraqi parliament told Iraqi's to "seek martyrdom" by attacking America.

Well, at least I tricked you into writing a thought-out response.
And as far as lowering the morale of the troops, I should think having entire Iraqi divisions surrender unconditionally would be a fairly big boost. And these guys aren't gonna come home to what they came home to after Vietnam. They will come home as heros. Mark my words.

Nem: Why do you insist on bestriding this forum with your one sentence remarks? I mean seriously you have not actually got into a real deate with anyone, all you have done is to make stupid remarks which only display your supreme arrogance.

Actually, I'm more pro-war every day. Rather, I am anti-war, but with every move the Iraqi leadership makes, I support the war just a little more. Despite my anti-war sentiments, I remember that those are American Citizens out there, fighting.
I think you mistake me for an Anti-American American.
Just because I do not agree with the why and the how...
Just because I do not agree with 'pre-emptive war'...
Just because I dislike Bush Part II...
Just because I don't agree with you...
That doesn't make me some severe left-wing radical.
Please, Lay off of the Rush Limbaugh act. I am no more your foe(nemesis?) than George Bush himself.
It just means that I like to use my first amendment rights.
''The people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to write, or to publish their sentiments; and the freedom of the press, as one of the great bulwarks of liberty, shall be inviolable.''
-James Madison
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
-Bill of Rights, Amendment I
In the end, I merely wish to incite good debate on the politics forum (in other words not name-calling, false accusations, slander and bigotry).
Thank you.
