God created humans with limited knowledge, enabling humans to discover and react to certain stuff, rather then to be all knowing. God gave us free will, free speech and free thought. Why? Because God is testing us, to see how we react, it’s the basis of life.

If God created us with unlimited knowledge and understanding, then we would be equivalent to God now will we? Meaning God wouldn’t be superior, which is stupid, because God is superior over us, if God suddenly turned the planes heading towards the World Trade Center, or stopped the Tsunami in South West Asia or even cured ever single diseases, illnesses etc, you’d suddenly feel safer wouldn’t you? You’d also feel immortal, causing you to stop research for hidden cures etc? Then what would be the point of that? Earth wouldn’t be a test, it would be… Heaven. <_<

I think 'god' is a silly concept. Also I believe religion is corrupt in all forms. Especially middle eastern religion. "Ala Akba!" Lmao, damn Arab's. I think Gods behaviour in the Bible is very eractic. In some cases he is forgiving and kind but in other cases hes horrible. I think he has emotional issues.

If you believe in Issac Newton's theory about the clockwork universe, then God just set the universe in motion and has no business dealing in this universe. Also, he figured that if this is a rational universe, there must also be a rational God behind it.

To compound onto what duckiesrock was saying about God letting people wander egypt for 50 years. trouble1 said it right when it was the wilderness for 40 years, but it also should be known that to the Jews, God was with them, guiding them to Israel. It also should be known that in Judaism, God is a merciful God, which is also prevalent in Christianity. All that stuff about sins, hell, confessions, all that is just dogma made up by the Church to scare people. According to most Abrahamic religion, all one has to do is admit their wrong and turn back to God for forgiveness (I don't know if that's a tenet in Islam though.)

The thing is though the bible is not "god", it is flawed and an inspiration of somewhat factual events.. It is also loosly based upon other belief systems and mythology (AKA Jesus' life being very resemblant of Dionysus' and other dieties). Just because the bible is proved wrong does not mean the concept of god has...

I personally believe god created the world, then sort of set it out on its own, it was no longer being controlled by god. So when people complain about god not saving the earth from natural disasters and other travesties, I believe its not his responsibility to do anything, we should instead rely on ourselves, and when people die, they should be mourned. Not everyone can be saved, people just have to accept that.

I think the God who cured me of my depression at the age of six-teen is a good god.
I say cured, because, I was intensely suicidal at that age. I thought that if there was a god who would here my prayers, I could give praying to god a shot. I did, during what I recall as the winter months of my six-teenth year. I prayed for a helping hand, a way out of the emotional hole I was in. The spirit of God came into me, and the desire to kill myself was gone, within a week or so.

My Ant Farm Theory -
We are God's little ant farm.
Have you ever had an ant farm? You start out with two pieces of glass and some dirt or gel or something and you can see everything going on inside. You add ants and feed them and after a while, they dig tunnels and rooms and things and all seems fine until their little environment is complete. Never completely finished but they build a nice little ant bed with what you gave them.
Soon it becomes boring and because you have no personal attachment to any particular ant, maybe you will tap on the glass a little and some tunnels will collapse and some ants will die and they all run around for a while and it is interesting again. The ants repair and try to move on but that is the best time to tap on the glass again.
Sound familiar? Sound anything like life. Maybe God does have a few favorite ants. Wouldn't you? Just how much can an ant eat anyway? Feed him everything he wants and provide him with everything for no particular reason or maybe because that ant is the most interesting by bullying other ants or eating more than his share of food. Certainly you wouldn't favor one because it is peaceful and acts like the rest.
If your world consisted of nothing but your ant farm, surely you would think of all kinds of creative ways to torment your ants for your enjoyment. But ants don't have feelings (I hope I'm right in assuming this) and it's a little difficult to become attached to something that doesn't seem to care anything about anything except for it's naturally pre-programed processes. Eat, sleep, protect the queen, etc. But people have feelings and emotions and are nothing like ants. It's gotta take a cold hearted mother fucker to do to people the kinds of things that God has allowed. There has to be a god because it just doesn't seem possible that something so complex as life could exist randomly in nature.
So is God good? I gotta say no. But no amount of cursing or praise will affect the way he treats us. Is there a heaven or a hell? I hope so, and I hope that entry to either will be based on the things that make sense to me naturally. I didn't need some ancient book to tell me that it is wrong to steal or cheat. My conscience does a good job of that. I think people who disregard their conscience will find themselves in hell. At least I hope so because I'm gonna totally kick their ass if they show up in heaven.
