I got Hellsing Ultimate 5-8 a couple of weeks ago (and Spawn the Animated Series, which still holds up very well). I watched 5 and 6, which were awesome. I hope the last two installments come out in America soon.

I don't think it worked because I'm still using Firefox.

that was actually really good, though i'm not sure if giving people the idea that IE11 is a cute anime girl will affect the downloads much.

So I just watched 5 Wallpapers Per Second and Garden of Words, both are longish short films by Makoto Shinkai. I dunno, they were alright but it felt like they were feature length films with all the character development taken out. Even for short films everyone felt completely flat and one-dimensional. They look and sound wonderful yet feel absent of any genuine emotion.

So guys...Persona Q for 3DS and Persona 5 for PS3 have been announced, as well as a rhythm/dancing game for Vita that I'm not interested in. I'm hype as fuck for the former two because I have both systems, and I expect them to be localized sometime in the future (maybe 2015? ;_;).

I'm looking forward to Persona 5 after finally getting started on Persona 3 last week. Great game so far. Only downside to Persona 5 is that I'm probably going to have to buy a PS3 at some point just so I can play it. Granted there are some other PS3 games I'd be interested in and I'd expect PS3s to fall in price even more by then.

I've also been watching some anime recently. Jackho got me watching Neon Genesis Evangelion which was alright but not really my thing. The first half was kinda dull then the second half just became information overload for me or something because I struggled to enjoy it.

After finishing Evangelion I decided to just start on two random animes. Picked Planetes and Moribito. Watched more of Planetes than I have Moribito and I'm actually quite enjoying it. Only seen the first couple of Moribito episodes and it seems alright but I just wasn't really in the mood for that kind of thing at the time.

Also wanted to try manga for the first time so I was having a look on Amazon to see what's all out there. Was hoping to find something that's still relatively new so that if I did enjoy it there wasn't a massive backlog of volumes I'd want to catch up on. Discovered Magi which seems to have only recently started being published in English. Ordered volumes 1 and 2. Unfortunately only vol 2 has arrived so far so I've not started it.

I'm new on Newgrounds, so I still don't know how clubs work on it.

But when it comes to anime work I tend to specialise in crossovers.

My name is Skye Izumi, and I specialise in crossovers.

have you watched hunter x hunter? it's by the same author as yu yu hakusho, and it's really good. its too bad that now it seems like the author has lost interest and has stopped working on besides the times when he needs some money.

It's one of my favorite manga, but I haven't seen the anime yet. The translation of the first few volumes were duwang-level, albeit with good resolution, but the Viz scans had the exact opposite.

The anime is stellar.

Gurl was cray. She was as fun as she was scary though. Her Japanese seiyuu is like music to my ears, and speaking of which, Onizuka's is amazing too.

Hello all. I love anime. I'm 18 now, and was introduced by shows such as Case Closed (Detective Conan), InuYasha, and Trigun back in the early days of Adult Swim (AKA, the good ol' days). With that being said, I assume that the only requirement to this club is a love of anime, so therefore I welcome myself.

Now, to the point of Great Teacher Onizuka. GTO is one of my favorite series. I never finished watching it, as I got distracted by re-discovering Love Hina (also wonderful). But the premise behind it is really unique. Ekichi Onizuka, 22 years old, is one of the most dynamic characters in any anime I've watched thus far. His ex-gang member badass(ness), combined with his pervy nature, and his strong desire to become a great teacher. Everything about it is just, yes.

ONIZUKA EIKICHI (NIJUUNENSEI) commands you to finish it. 教師として!
I never got around to Love Hina, but as I keep hearing the name I suppose that time will have to come about.

I'll have to do this. Yeah, Love Hina is good, imo. There's quite the bit of fanservice though, which some people are into and others not as much. I'm fairly neutral on the topic. I think it has a good storyline though, with characters that are easy to get attatched to. You should certainly check it out!

I will, thanks! And as far as I'm concerned, fanservice is a slightly overused and misused word too and never really meant anything negative anyway. It's like it has come to describe ecchi elements only for some people, whether out of place or not, even when a show is actually listed in that genre. When they do episode previews in EVA is a good example; at the end they promise us fanservice frequently, but they're probably talking about mech porn and the MCs hanging out. Or like Itano circus in Macross. Not aimed at you or anything, I should probably add. I just felt the need to say it when I came to think of it.

I thought I should drop by for a bit and ask a question.

I watched some epsiodes of Gundam ZZ and despite the fact that the elements in first half gave the series a negative reputation, I actually liked it. But the one that I have issues with was the Moon Moon episodes (turns out what I heard about the two-parter is actually true).

Do you think the heroes' adventure to a moon colony filled with cult worshippers guarded by aztec space ninjas is essential to the plot?

i could never really get into gundam, but most mecha series thrive on doing random things with a silly core plot device.

Winter line up.

I'm gonna board the hype train with you guys because I think it'll be great as well. Robot Girls Z, Nisekoi, Sailor Moon, and SYD S2 are what I'll check out, maybe some others if I feel like it.

I finished Binbougami Ga and loved the shit out of it. The manga's cast made the whole ride worth it, and it managed to stay original with the 'world'/universe it set up. The whole supporting cast stole the whole show from Ichiko; if they weren't there, the series wouldn't be so good. Lots of delicious fanservice from the predominately female cast , but one character, Tanporo, is a straight expy of Reimu from 2hu.

Well... This is really my first time posting in the Anime Club (and the Clubs and Crews in general...).

So... I guess I should say a bit about myself (Anime wise.).

My three favorite animes are:

1. DEATHNOTE
2. BLEACH
3. HEAVEN'S MEMO PAD

I prefer manga over anime.

I don't watch japanese hentai.

I'm currently watching Bleach, Wolf's Rain, and (rewatching) Naruto.
I'm currently reading Blue Exorcist, and One Piece.

So yeah. Hi there.

No. I've been into anime for a few years. I just listed my top 3.

And don't hate me for liking Naruto. I know it uses the average plotlines and shonen styles, but it's still a very solid series. The climaxes of the battles are generally very cool and touching (ex. The battle between Zabuza on the bridge.) Whether you despise me or not, I like Naruto.

I just never see Bleach on any 'favorite' lists ever, only One Piece if any of the Big Three at all, but the others are decent. Death Note's end still angers me, though, because of that fucker Near -- I wish he died at the end, along with Light.

I'm not hating on you, but Naruto isn't something I'd like to rewatch or -read. I've read through a couple hundred chapters of the manga, but finally dropped it around 525 or so. Shippuden is where it really gets shitty, but pre-timeskip is an 'average'/ok read; even the 'decent' parts don't welcome revisiting.
