Upon recommending FMA and FMA:B to friends who are new to the series, which one would you guys (assuming you didn't downright hate the series) argue should be viewed first?

I'm thinking FMA:B should come first simply because it closes the story properly and won't be as confusing as watching FMA, then FMA:B. But I'd like to see what everyone else thinks would be the best viewing experience.

I never bothered with the older FMA because I thought Brotherhood was really good and I didn't see the reason to spend the time on it after that. The majority of people who saw both seem to agree Brotherhood is better and it came out after the manga was complete, unlike the previous show. I don't think I need to see the contrast to appreciate it more. If I were to recommend Hellsing Ultimate to someone, I wouldn't suggest watching Hellsing first. Speaking of redoing series with comics that have since ended, Gantz needs a second shot.

I've been reading the manga for about a week or so now, it also has some NSFW parts that mostly end with someone passing out or something "else" It's also really funny.

Sure, it can count. Any anime like that would count. NSFW and funny don't always work well together.

I think you make a good point! Watching FMA really is more like watching a standalone series in itself, since it really strays off into a completely imagined story line that was made up once they reached the end of what was available in the manga. Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking, but I'll still try and sell FMA as a sort of alternative universe to FMA:B.

But I agree, there's no need watching both to appreciate a story already perfectly (and properly) told by FMA:B.

Exactly, Therefore anime is the shit, no lie. I feel left off on here because ya'll some real anime experts. Never read any manga haven't completed as much anime. I got a Rei Ayanami figurine if that counts.

We all enjoy anime, but don't feel left out. We all share opinions on what we like and why.

On a related note, while it wasn't incestous since the MC wasn't related to the twins by blood, but it was funny how in the anime one of the sisters was voiced by the seiyuu who would go on to voice Kirino.

With that said, Kirino was incestous...

I've noticed a huge difference between the Kiss x sis manga and anime.

Its the same thing as books being better than movies. More space to describe things and include additional scenes.

That's generally what happens when the anime is made before the manga ends, due to the fact that anime creators can't really just sit on it until the manga is completed, which could take a long time before that happens, if it even happens at all. In a lot of ways, the anime is often used as advertising the manga itself, and if it turns out to be successful, then they can make more anime for the other parts of the manga, if not, then they would simply cut their losses and move on. {anime producing has always been done on the cheap, at least for TV series.}

This is part of the reason why light novels adaptations are more and more common now than anime based on long-running or delayed manga, the LN series is either completed by the time the anime is made, or if not, can be completed and even added on relatively quickly. {i.e Haruhi Suzumiya}

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

That's actually true for many anime and manga, particularly Berserk, Claymore, and Gantz. However, that's not always the case.

Why not Noragami or Accel World? If you're looking for something more childish, there's Reborn!. If you want it to grow up, give him Akame ga Kill! (WARNING, he might grow up without you knowing) and if he's just a pervert hand him Ben-To.

ONE PUNCH MAN EPISODE 7
It seems that episode 8 will be about the Sea King Arc rather than the Dark Matter Thieves Arc. If my memory is correct than order of the 2 arcs has been switched. I'm guessing that the alien invaders might not show their faces when all the episodes are through, which will probably open up the door for season two. Also, did Genos REALLY think his incineration cannon would work on the meteor? At best it would only hit up the meteor considerably which would probably make the whole situation a lot worse.

How old is he? For some lighthearted shonen, I'd go for Orphen, Outlaw Star or Trigun. And anything Lupin is like 7/10 at worst, which has your humor and action. The second series and Secret of Mamo are my shit especially dubbed (yes dubbed, not subbed) but Burn Zantetsuken, Fuma Conspiracy and of course Cagliostro are up there.

Are you kidding me? Manga are generally better than the anime due to the fact that anime tends to leave things out, add in fillers that screws up the story line, and ends before the manga was anywhere near as such. A majority would think the manga is better for the most part.

You're not the only one thinking this.

I loooove Darker Than Black. almost like Japanese X Men. The soundtrack is also pretty sweet. Was kinda bummed by the ending of the second series, but it was still good, too.

I used to love staying up 'til 5am to watch Case Closed and Lupin the 3rd on Adult Swim. It was teenage me's favorite shows at the time. So I cant really express how geeked I am that I found the Detective Conan VS Lupin the 3rd movie on Hulu. I really have no words for this right now and honestly cant figure out who I want to root for

And now that I watched that, I gotta find an earlier cross over movie that this one kept eluding to. As a fan of both series though, the 2013 movie I just finished was a great combination of both parts. Even if I missed a lot from Case Closed's 300+ episodes which I'll be lucky to have seen even a quarter of. I guess I'll be getting on that soon enough.

Me too. I've lately been using YouTube to occasionally rewatch earlier episodes of dubbed Detective Conan/Case Closed on my tv, usually when I'm getting ready to go to bed.

Ah, I still haven't seen that. I'm much more of a Lupin fan. Love most things Lupin, but I've only seen a little from the '90s and later. I think Return of Pycal was the first thing I saw past the '80s. The second TV series is still the ultimate Lupin for me though lots of the movies are great like Mamo, Zantetsuken, Fuma Conspiracy, Cagliostro etc

That's an issue I have with that series. It needs an ending. Lupin can go on indefinitely in a bunch of forms because it's just Lupin and gang continuing to steal shit while Zenigata will never catch them. But with Detective Conan, this poor guy is stuck in a kid's body and those guys that did it to him are out there. That's some shit that needs closure. I mean you can still go back and be like this is some other case that happened before the ending.

What's the crossover they were referencing?
