A little higher then normal production values and quality doesn't really help the overall quality in the long run. Especially if the set up and development is already quite mediocre, which is what I found Clannad S1 to be, overall.
I'm on AS now and apparently it takes 10 episodes to get into the actual story. Okay.

Please god let this not be a troll. I cant stop laughing. Newgrounds never ceases to keep me entertained. Have the first 70 episodes of logh down; I have a strong urge to join the military, and take over the world now.

Well that picture left me rock solid.

This week's penguindrum, what the fuuuuuuuuuck. Turns out kouma's understood from the start what the fuck is going on, at least if his mary + her lambs analogy thing is anything to go by. Also the return of that gray wednesday song, although without the lyrics.
Also I just finished Hajime no Ippo, I strongly recommend it to all of you. Great fun, and the fight animation was absolutely stunning, especially nearer the end of the series. Kept me gripped, and while some things were foregone conclusions ("Oh well, of course ippo's going to win this match, he's an underdog and this is a shonen anime") but there was enough drama and upsets that it hooked me. One thing I must say is that I didn't really go for the lighter comedy moments, I found them rather unfunny and forced, but I suppose without them it would have just been too aggro and too much fighting not enough downtime.
Either way a great series, and certainly opened me up to the idea of watching anime about things I don't normally care about.
8.5/10 or something whatever
Finally I just started Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Looking forward to it. Give me something to watch on the train to work for the next couple of months at least.

It's really not that bad compared to your average anime comedy. At least they were well placed and not annoying when they did show up.

See? Sports anime is good anime. I don't care for baseball or basketball; but Touch and Slam Dunk helped get over that and appreciate what made both so great in the first place.

good
Full Metal panic season 1 was pretty average, why was this so popular a few years ago? Anime fans are retards. Hopefully Fumoffu is a lot funnier, and Second Raid more engaging.
During this I re-watched Gunbuster to see if it was as good as I remembered. And it was - hell it was even better this time around. I really can't recommend this one highly enough. Noriko's development is astonishing - more so what she did and became in only 6 episodes. Something that 26-50 episode series couldn't even do. The technical details were astonishing, I had a blast with the details and the facial expressions, surprisingly they were actually expressive! What a concept! And top off all that, the icing on this bittersweet cake was the ending, quite possibly the best one I've seen in an anime aside from Maison Ikkoku or LOGH's. If you don't cry or at least get a little choked up. You have no heart, and you have no eye for quality.
Without this series, Evangelion never would have come to fruition. Everything from Noriko's personality and Jung Freud's hotheaded pride were the founding concepts for characters like Shinji Ikari and Asuka Langley.
Greatness, nothing short of that.
Man, speaking of which, I should probably watch Aim for the Ace since that was also the loose founder for Gunbuster and it's themes. Thankfully the movie is subbed, the tv series' subs have been slow for years now. I can't take the wait.

An apple is one of the finest literary symbols one can incorporate into a profound story. Such techniques were mastered by the likes of Ohba and Obata ; and the most influential writer in this century, Stephenie Meyer.

Agreed so much on the first season. I re-watched a month or two ago and it's really disappointing, especially when compared to Fumoffu/TSR.

Apparently the Hunter X Hunter manga is back in circulation or at least a few new chapters have come out.
It's been so long I am confused as hell but I am very glad to see it back even if for only a short burst.

When I find anime I like I will marathon it for hours on end. I have marathoned 25+ episodes shows with no breaks. Anyways this is going to change in 10 days more then likely because I am going to be working full time; so I am in a hurry to clean up my backlog before that happens. In the next 10 days I plan on watching Steamboy, Dennou Coil, Kanon(2006), TWGOK S2, The Tatami Galaxy, Aria the Natural, Bartender, Kaiji, Hanasaku Iroha, Penguindrum, Gunbuster, and anything else I find along the way.

Seriously though BBM, how are you any different that the rest of the users who happens to post here regularly. We can assume you just prance around your computer all day while glancing over at your anime bootleg dvds.
Talking down to UCanCallMeJesus is pretty shallow as you yourself seem to live a rather uneventful, unproductive life as a mod on this dumpy website.

You'll have to let me know how Dennou Coil goes. I hear nothing but good things with that one. Tatami Galaxy and Kaiji are amazing as well.
Also, the One Piece anime is entering it's second stage this Sunday. With the time skip finally animated - absolutely ecstatic for this. Seemed a little early to do it though, I don't think the Fishman Island arc is even fully finished yet. We'll see I guess.
And it's good to hear that a new arc from H x H is finally happening. With the reboot maybe Togashi will get the motivation to quit being so lazy.
