I recently saw Ponyo and I have to say one thing about Miyazaki, his films have no target audience, everyone from young to old can enjoy his films. I do have to say though, it wasn't one of his best, but that isn't saying much seeing as everything he made is well great. I'd put it below Princess Mononoke but above Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

Out of all the Miyazaki films Laputa is my favourite.

Guys, I'm a bit stuck here. Does anyone know of a good fighting anime, preferably with lots of action?

In ancient days, men looked into the stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.

Hellsing, lots of action, lots of blood. Berserk too, however that is better as manga.

What the fuck is this I hear about there being a new FMA series and that Melancholy Of Haruhi S. got a second season earlier this year?

Have you guys checked out either of these?

Are they worth me checking out or will they damage what I thought of the first season/series?

If you're planning to watch Haruhi Suzumiya DO NOT WATCH THE WHOLE SERIES! Watch episodes 1-3 and then skip to ep 9. Trust me, you'll thank me later. Otherwise, it's decent. Nothing amazing.

The Disappearance of HS, season 2, of course. I thought the first series was great.

Kaiji Live Action Movie trailer.
(In the linked page, select the third movie link under the Coming Soon section's lefthand column, and then select the second button in the next window's righthand side.)
Pretty awesome, hope someone subs it. And I suppose they made Endo a girl to make it a somewhat less sausage fest.

I don't know about that suggestion. I liked it as a DMC fan, but the action scene usually ended so quickly thanks to the ridiculous amount of awesomeness that is Dante.

Just got back from AnimeFest... the lines were fucked up and everything else was a drag...

damn swine flu scare took out all the guests

I just watched episode 98 of Shugo Chara! (I can't afford an anime membership) and am now desperately bored. I had my eyes on some titles like Kaleido Star season 2 and Wedding Peach, but with ADV Films' fate sealed, I don't know what I'm going to do.

What the fuck is with this?

Why would they want to waste 8 of the 14 episodes looping with only slight changes every time?

Jesus Christ, I think three episodes of the loop would've been enough. BUT EIGHT?

Wow, just wow.

I got 2 questions to ask everybody.

Who is your favourite State alchemist? [FullMetal Alchemist]

If Kira was real, would you think he's good or bad? [Death Note]

Does anybody besides me ever get that feeling where you're watching an anime that sucks, and you know it does, but you just can't stop watching?

Finished Darker Than Black and Soukou no Strain. Darker Than Black was a pretty nice series not so happy with the ending, but apprently a second season is coming out so, whatever. Soukou no Strain started off pretty well and then it just spiraled down into the world of lame and fanservice.

Light Yagami, Misa Amane, Kyosuke Higuchi, and Teru Mikami were all Kira.

Code Geass and Death Note.

Although the first 15 or so episodes of Death Note and the first season of Geass were both really good, after that both those shows blew mega ass.

But I kept watching hoping they would redeem themselves eventually. (Death Note did on the last three episodes, Geass didn't)

You know I REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY wouldn't be surprised if another huge Death Note anime and/or manga comes out.

Why?

1.) Death note = MEGA UBER SUCCESSFUL ANIME. Both the American and jap. versions brought in a fuckload of money, and the manga itself did great as well.
2.) At the end of the manga does it say on the last past on the last chapter something along the lines of "This is the end of this Death Note story" or something like that?
3.) On one of the episode segments where it tells you something about the Death Note it says the world can have up to 6 death notes in it at once and any after that wouldn't work. Why would they tell us that if the series was only going to have two(I think) death notes in the whole series.

So yeah, another death note series is bound to happen eventually. Personally I hope it won't be about a huge mass murdered again though, I can't see them making that work again.

No, that's pretty damn pointless. Although I was considering seeing if Haibane Renmei got better after seeing the first 4 episodes, but I really doubt it. As it was just another slow moving borefest.

I haven't really watched shit these days, although I'd like to. Interested in finishing up Gundam Seed, G-Gundam, DBZ and starting Mushishi. But my money always ends up going to PS3 games, asdf.

I actually liked the second season of Code Geass. Sure, it wasn't anywhere good as the first season, but it still had a really good ending. As for Death Note, I was never really a fan of the anime, but I did enjoy the manga.

A new series would be extremely pointless since it would be way too similar to the original series. There's not really much more that they could do with the series, so I think it's at an end.

They did however make a prequel to the series which was released as a novel, but it didn't have the actual death note in it. From what I've heard it was mainly ment to give L more back story.

Season 2 basically ruined the anime to me.

Shame, it could've been so great based off of how good season 1 ended.

No, not a "I got a death note, must kill bad guys, ah unnamed detective in the shadows I MUST KILL HIM!"

They don't necessarily have to make another death note series based off a insane serial murder genius or filled with physiological warfare.

I mean, the only thing that would have to be for certain is 1.) Death Note, 2.) A shinigami.

Anything else could be a completely original plot.

Yup, that's right.

I lol'd, if they made a death note movie in the US I would find it hilarious, even more so if it has a fagot playing light...OH WAIT A MINUTE.

Nah, actually I like Light.
