Looks pretty bad, bro, I'd avoid it all cost.

Here are my top 10 favorite anime:

6. Kaleido Star

Now that was a good series, really dug it's positive atmosphere and message. I bought it on a whim and it turned out to be great.

I don't really remember you, but welcome back anyway.

I watched the first episode of Kino's Journey.

It was pretty boring, and it felt like it was trying, and failing, to say something profound.

And Hermes sounded exactly like Doraemon.

Maybe it will get better, I don't know.

Yeah, I didn't even finish the first episode of Shuffle! before I started watching Hellsing again, I want kind of a horror anime to watch, but I can't find one with English dubs.

It's been a couple of years since I've watched Hellsing, I should watch it again. I still haven't bothered watching the OVA's, but I've heard that they're better than the original series.

So, I watched Sengoku Basara, and I have to say that it's pretty fucking awesome. No stupid love complexes, just fighting and politics. My type of anime.

I've never followed the Halo series, so I have no idea if it would make a good anime or not. Personally it just seems pretty pointless, but I'm sure the fans will all love it either way. I'll only watch it if it turns out to be really good.

Also, I bought Persona 3 FES today, and so far I'm having a lot of fun with it. I've heard really good things about it, and now I know why everyone loves it so much.

Yeah, same here. I had seen some screens and read the plot and was drawn to it and only recently did I pick up the box set. I'm still not done watching, but I LOVE IT! (except for a few seconds at the beginning of episode 2, for reasons I'm sure everyone here is familiar with)

Hi. I was here in March 2007 when Kisuke almost threw me out because the rules weren't clearly posted and I mentioned something about fansubs.

It's pretty good.

It starts of really fun, then it gets to be a bit of a chore, then it perks on up to "OH WOW, THIS IS GREAT" closer to the end.

The only reason I'm gonna watch it is because it's being made by the creators of Appleseed and Cowboy Bebop. I bet it'll end up being great.

Something else recent that hit me by surprise: I was playing single player campaign on "'Splosion Man" yesterday while my younger brothers were watching the Disney Channel, when a Movie Surfers (which I normally hate to see all together) came on about "Ponyo", a new movie by Studio Ghibli. This took me completely off guard; I had never been expecting anything from them coming up. There were no commercials for the movie or anything.

Anyways, now I'm anxiously awaiting the release of this movie. Anyone else know about it?

Someone made a topic about it in the general forums awhile back, which is where I heard about it. I've never watched any of the director's movies before, but apparently they're supposed to be really good. Hopefully this movie will be as good as his other works supposed to be.

According to a certain reviewer on Anime News Network, it's not QUITE as good as some of his other movies, but it's supposed to be good.
Aside from that, I heard Miyazaki allowed Disney to alter the plot significantly from the original Japanese so that Americans could "understand" it. As I said before, I smell another Warriors of the Wind-type fiasco. I may like Studio Ghibli's movies, but I'm boycotting this one. It seems Hayao Miyazaki's moral fiber has gone to pot in his allowing Disney to cut up and completely rework his last movie. God knows what his son will let slip into the wrong hands...

I guess you have to look at it from a business point of view. The general movie watcher is most likely uninterested in anime, so they would have to change the movie to be more appealing to Americans. I'm not saying that I agree with the doing this, but I can understand why they would. I do find it pretty pathetic that the average person needs everything to be "Americanized" in order for them to like it.

Anyway, I'm sure the original Japanese version wont be too hard to get a hold of.

Well hello gentlemen, I was a bit bored and decided to join on in. I like most anime that I watch, I typically don't really hate any shows for some strange reason. While I know a lot of series, I tend to be slow when it comes to actually watching them.

Favorites:

1. Cromartie High School
2. Dragonball
3. GTO
4. Gintama
5. Bamboo Blade

I just bought the game a few days ago, and so far I'm loving it.

Anyway, there are thirty extra hours added to the game. After you finish The Journey, you get to play through The Answer, which is where the extra thirty hours are.

I beg to differ.
The main mission statement of the dubbing industry is to cut off Americans' access to foreign films and force us to watch their crappy edited-beyond-the-point-of-recognition versions.
It's policies like these that are the main driving force behind the continuation of piracy.
If companies want to stop people from pirating movies, TV, video games and what-not, they should stop butchering them and allow us to legitimately view the original content. Simple, huh?

Piracy is a symptom of commodity fetishism; we're supposed to define our existance with what we buy, but because we can't afford everything, we cut corners, some buy bootlegged brand clothes, shoplift, or pirate music and movies, and use the money saved for other stuff.

I checked up on Google Images to get an idea of what you were talking about, but was just hit with a bunch of panty shots.

I really hate that aspect of anime, and I'm guessing would probably hate the series accordingly.

With regards to incorporating real photos into anime, you should check out Mind Game.

One of the most amazing pieces of animation I have ever seen.

Sometimes I watch animation and think "man, animation is such a flexible medium for film, why aren't people using it in a more experimental way?"

And then I think of Mind Game.
