Since all the cool kids are doing it.

Half is pretty predictable. Obviously can't have a list without Bebop, Champloo and Baccano.

Also, I saw a Black Lagoon DVD box at the store today. I already have a DVD with the first four eps, but as it seems the licencing company has ditched that appporach in favour of a box set, i might actually buy the box, even though I am somewhat allergic to the b-word.

Paranoia Agent is so great. I've only seen up to about episode 16 of HnK, but I still think it's badass, and I love the movie. I just wish a version of the show were available where the blood weren't recolored so it always either looks like jizz or like oil.

I don't know about zero character development per se, it did have some philosophical meaning with Shinji and Asuka, but it did feel like the rest of the characters were bland, and a lot of them are douchebags, especially Gendo.

Good mecha battles, bad character development.
It's also confusing as hell towards the end, I found myself thinking "what the fuck?"

They didn't even bother trying to end the damn series, basically proving that the creators of the show were pretentious smart-asses and think that the ending was meant to be open-ended. Not to mention, the movies are essentially retellings of the same story, just with even more bizarre and confusing endings.

In all honesty, Evagelion is good, but not great. Raxephon is a carbon copy of Eva, but with a better story and characters that are not whiny assholes.

I just finished watching Soul Eater

I have to say the ending was unimpressive

I feel like the characters never really got measurably stronger.

I guess that's because I read to much modern day Shonen. Back in the Rurouni Kenshin days nobody ever really got 'stronger' as much as they fought under different circumstances.

Here's hoping for a second season

It's a very interesting show. It's unsettling and bizarre but in a fresh and unique way. I definitely think it's worth watching. I never finished it but it's a very 'different' kind of show.

Just a quick question to you guys...

I started watching Darker Than Black, and it's a great show and all... But, am I still supposed to be confused about like, everything, even though I'm nine episodes in?

Would the last airbender be considered a anime? Because I watched all of that in 2 days and I was sad to have it end, I was wondering if there was anything similar to it anime wise.

"anime" is just Japanese for "animation" (and French for "animated"), but in the context of an English spoken sentence, it refers strictly to animation from Japan.

So no, Avatar is not an anime.

Technically, It is not an anime because it wasn't made and directed in Japan. But the series has an anime art style to it, so many people do consider it as an anime. You can also make a similar argument for Batman: Gothic Knight and The Boondocks as well being in the same boat as The Last Airbender, in terms of art styles of the show, IMO.

As for Paranoia Agent, it's been a long while since I have seen it, I'm debating on wheather I should get the DVDs or not.

The animation was all done by famous Japanese artists, though, right? or was it? I never saw it.

Good luck finding it for a reasonable price. I checked the Right Stuff and they only have one volume on DVD, and Amazon expects me to actually pay 100 god damned dollars for the box set. So, I guess I'll be downloading it if I can since they must want me to do it.

That's nice to know but not really my main concern, is there anything similar to the shows concept?
