Aw, fuck it. No offense to you anime-lovers, but after a period of just not watching it for a while, I came to the conclusion Girls Bravo was such a shitty anime it's not even worth me seeing the rest of the second season.

I mean, it was so BOAR-ING. One episode problems, with one episode solutions. You have no reason to continue watching, because there's no actual plot after the first few episodes. I still maintain respect for serious, in-depth anime with admirable plots, such as Outlaw Star, Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin - but chibi anime bullshit just tics me off to the point I just can't watch it anymore.

There's plenty of anime with good self contained episodes.

A lot of comedy anime is self contained.

Then again, the vast majority of comedy anime isn't any good.

But then you've got stuff like Cowboy Bebop.

But I've never seen your little show, and it doesn't interest me.

Yeah, Kuro will want to kill me for posting this, but most Chibi anime fucking sucks. There is a fine fine line between "funny" and "annoying". Anyways, I think anime lacks dark humour. Every anime WITH dark humour tends to be amazing, so how come this year we are just getting rehashed ideas from the 90's?

A lot of comedy anime is self contained.

It drew me in as an anime with a good plot. Dude is afraid of women, is transported to a planet with nothing but women, find this one girl he likes, takes her back to his planet, and now she needs to become used to life on his planet. It was great for the first seven episodes or so, but it's "comedy" was nothing but the Team Rocket-like hijinks of a pervert antagonist trying to get the protagonist's girl, and his black magic sister trying to get the guy. Each episode is just a new scheme by the antagonists trying to capture their "love". It is, for all intensive purposes, perpetual Team Rocket-like mischief. At least Pokemon has a fucking plot, Girls Bravo's only real selling point was it's sexual innuendo, bordering on hentai, which isn't really a plus considering the show originally drew me in portraying itself with an inventive plot, with a joke thrown in every once in a while.

Seriously people, seeing an anime dude be embarrassed because he saw a naked chick by accident was funny only oh so long ago.

"Oh wow, he totally walked in on this girl getting dressed. Then he punched him. Funny shit right here."

Then again, the vast majority of comedy anime isn't any good.

But then you've got stuff like Cowboy Bebop.

I never saw Cowboy Bebop, but I keep hearing good things, so I assume it has it's selling points.

But I've never seen your little show, and it doesn't interest me.

Uhg, tell me about it.

I know some of you have started as well, but if not, find a chance to start Macross Frontier.
So far, Satelite has been doing a beautiful job with the animation and the screenplay is certainly on the high-tier of animations to-date.

One of the key aspects which caught my attention is the debut of Megumi Nakajima; the voice actor of Ranka who provides both her singing voice and her normal voice; an uncommon combination. Fans of Macross from over 25 years ago would recognise this move as this was the same case for Mari Iijima who voiced Lynn Minmay (Chinese: Ling Ming Mei).

I expect the best dogfights and action that the Itano Circus (among many other things) has to offer.

Just finished watching Cowboy Bebop the other day. Dike Spies. Yeah, it was pretty awsome, and it had ttaken time pretty well (I realised it debuted 10 years ago, holy shit), while there was some problems with the face art, and the usual light patches, it was pretty smooth animation, and the story was pretty damn great.

Though, the end was a bit depressing. I made use of the Lucky Star episodes I had on the computer by watching its last episode after finishing CB, sure as hell cheered me up.

Now I've started Outlaw Star. And boy, does the artwork scream nineties or what? I know that I've passed the point of no return when I start noticing things like that. When I start comparing the voice actors work (or start calling the Seiyu's, or whatever the Japanese term was again), and start learning Japanese in order to read original Manga, comparing it to the shows, please, anyone, shoot me.

What's that, random anime pics? Sure thing.

First of all, I've never seen Girls Bravo, second, I'm not interested, and third, standalone episodes are fine. Plenty of great anime work that way, such as Shin Chan and Lupin III.

If you ever watch it, you will understand why I think Girls Bravo is bullocks. It is perpetual standalone episodes. There are no cliffhangers, nothing to attract me to continue viewing, and it takes chibi anime bullshit to the Nth degree.

The Nth degree, I say

Some chibi is cute, but it gets to a point where it gets annoying after a while.

That was back when the animation slightly changing to give the characters werid expressions and putting lights in the backround was considered rolf material.

Precisely why I prefer more serious animes the majority of the time.

40 episode long anime with an interesting on somble plotline>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>40 episode long comeady anime, whether its self contained, self contained some of the time or not self contained at all.

Ugh, yeah stand alone episodes usually only come about in fillers. If you want to watch an interesting anime I suggest Ranma, but I also suggest you avoid all stand alone episodes, as they are something the craptastic developers put it to make the series cliche.
But about Girls bravo, standalone episodes are fine as long as the plot is original, funny, and has some effect on the rest of the series, but sadly Girls bravo is basically the same thing rehashed over and over again.

Yeah, it's the same with Lupin and Shin Chan. They're basically all standalone episodes. There are lots of awesome shows that have no continuing story.

I'm not trying to defend a show I've never seen. I'm just saying that one thing shouldn't be a reason to hate it, unless you're trying to say that it's all more of the same in each episode.

So yeah, just post when you feel like it, it's not as if any of us can actually stop you.

No, a lot of us who watch Gundam stuff here are oldschool fans with a deep hatred of SEED and its ilk.

Been marathoning Excel Saga, and it's pretty good. I have no clue what was going on in the people that produced the dubs minds. How could they give the greenlight to dub Excel's voice? It's absolutely dreadful.

And whats sad is that i haven't watched a single episode subbed.

I'm just so used to dubs, i can take nearly anything.
