Hi!!!
Er... welcome. Can you list your five favourite series. Don't act like an idiot, and you're welcome.

Finished the first season of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
It was amazing, and picked up even more pace at the end, though the last episode was a bit too exposition-y for my tastes.

Yeah, at least five series is some sort of unofficial pseudo-requirement.
Though, personality is probably the most important part.

I doubt the last 5 episodes of season 1 will be able to redeem the entire first season. Perhaps season 2 is the entire reason why everyone says it's a good anime.

The one from the 80's is awesome, despite the awful CG helicopter.....

There are so many things I have a problem with when it comes to this list with the exception of One Piece.

Unless, of course, he meant the 4Kids dub. Then that list ranges from mediocre to just plain awful.
To be perfectly honest, I enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist, and I liked Inuyasha when it's fandom swept through this club like wildfire. I have video games based on those series for three different systems.

I watched Mind Game last night. It was really good. It was made by the guy who made Kemonozume, which was also really good. Both are crazy and weird. It made me laugh, too. You guys should check it out and then start watching Kemonozume.

Why haven't I watched it yet?

Finished Sketchbook ~full color'S~ It is actually pretty good. Although, it does leave me wanting more out of the series. It is a very cute series, and feels like a perfectly natural Slice of Life comedy series. Nothing insane, but it doesn't come off as annoying. Now, before my balls completeluy disappear, I must go watch Kaiji. so lng for now.

Hey guys, back. I know this is the anime club, but I just read the watchmen, which I've always wanted to do, and I fucking loved it. Rorschach was an amazing character. So, anyone think the movie will be any good?

SWARM OF NEW PEOPLE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
At 8/17/08 01:56 PM, Mendou wrote: Unfortunately, only a handful of the Gundam games have been released here in the west. But at least we got some good ones like Gundam Battle Assault 1&2, Encounters in Space, Gundam VS Zeta Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front etc. That Dynasty Gundam game for the PS3 looks alright as well.
GBA 3 is total fucking tosh. The fighting system in it was shit terrible. I don't know about the SEED game they made for the PS2 but I'm assuming the worst. MS Saga: A New Dawn was pretty cool. Chibi MS's that you could mix and match parts with was pretty neat. Gundam Musou[DW] for the PS3/360 is awesome. Repetitive at times but I do enjoy going through all of the storylines[15 or so]and the JP VAs are nice to hear instead of the mostly dull cast of US actors. I haven't gotten to Encounters yet. Almost beat G VS Zeta 100%. Trying to find all of the story lines that are hidden is turning out to be a bitch though.
At 8/17/08 01:03 PM, DeIirium wrote: The ending was kind of wierd though.Because the ending was abrupt and imcomplete, if you wanna find out what happened, get volume 14 of the manga(Where the series continues on)
I'm guessing you're with me when I say 'God damn, Miura. When is the next chapter going to come out?'. The later chapters that introduce his new armor[for spoiler reasons]are awesome. So much destruction he leaves in his wake.

I just finished watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and I have to say,
SPOILERS AHEAD
SPOILERS AHEAD
SPOILERS AHEAD
SPOILERS AHEAD
SPOILERS AHEAD
It shares a trait with one of my favorite novel series, Warriors, in that everybody fuckin' dies. Honestly, the slaughter of main characters is huge.
Kamina, I can understand. His kicking the bucket was necessary for Simon's character growth where he goes through an episode-long period of being a complete frickin' idiot, but then all the Brigade members start offing themselves with seemingly no impact. At least Kittan went out with a bang.
And then Niya dissolves to nothing. That's really miserable.
In all actualality, the mass death is part of what makes Gurren Lagann great, but I sympathize too much with characters. Going through all sorts of shit to rescue your beloved only to get married to her and watch her dissolve to nothing is really sad.
END SPOILERS
END SPOILERS
Although, now that I'm through with Gurren Lagann, I don't know what to watch next.
I have nothing to say that is at all relevant.

That's a strange question, here I thought pretty much everybody have already seen FMA. If you like generic Shonen anime then you'll probably like FMA too, it has a couple nice additions then the usual though it's just too long.

You know, you can just post about stuff, no need to be too worried about joining.
That said, we do like to see lists or at least descriptions of what kind of stuff you like.

Ooh, gotcha. I'm new to the forum here so I wasn't sure if there was an actual club where you click join, or just posting in this topic.
Guess I'll just do a list too, no particular order:
1) Fullmetal Alchemist
2) Inuyasha (when it's not total filler)
3) Ranma 1/2
4) Death Note (watching now that it's on Adult Swim)
5) Chobits (Twas my first exposure to anime besides Pokemon)
and expanding. I don't really go for the more intense action series but I did enjoy Elfen Lied and a couple others. I prefer more character oriented series and comedy. So yeah, that's me I guess.
