Well I wouldn't really say that they're similar in lines of music, but if you're into the whole samurai thing I would say to check out Samurai 7. I haven't finished it yet, but from what i've seen so far it's pretty good.

Oh, and twists, I like twists. Thx.

Akagi and Kaiji fit the ticket quite nicely, they require some mild suspension of disbelief, but they've got even realism and twists to tide you over.

Jesus christ, I keep hearing about this anime in both real life and online constantly.

I have yet to see it but from what I understand its completely overrated, it can't be THAT good because whats mainstream in anime is almost always retarded shonens.(I.E. Naruto, DBZ, Inuyasha, Bleach, etc.)

And another thing, i've heard people compare it to death note, i've ehard people compare it to Gundum 00, i've had people compare it to fma and i've had people compare it NGE.

Just what the fuck is this anime about?

Since when are smart animes bad?

As good of a anime that black lagoon is, it could've been so much better if it had an on some sort of linking plotline between all the arks and if their was some sort of intelligent story behind the awesome gun fights and big explosions..

Well, they try to do that whole existing thing. But it mostly serves to show how batshit insane Revy is.

Yeah, to be honest I don't get why it is that we're all not exactly like you either.

Really there is nothing special about it just your average fanservice show which i dislike but stuck around for the mech. Dropped second season as it is utter garbage.

Sounds generic and bland.

Plus I STILL don't like mech and gundum shows so thats even more the reason for me to not watch it.

Cool it, buddy. Not the end of the world, internets not being serious business and all.

I don't really see the point in endlessly slandering the series, but I can certainly say I fail to understand why it's caught on like it has.

I found it funny, informative, and just generally enjoyable to watch.

Took too long to catch on, though. It started out boring as hell.

Precisely, you found it to be that way.

Humour's a very subjective thing.

Not a positive trait for a comedy series in the least.

Not a positive trait for any series.

I've never looked at a series and gone "you know what? This series could stand to be a bit more boring at the start."

Oh, you card.

I actually have seen some stuff in the past that would have done better with a slower pace, more exposition and less fun in the beginning.

As entertaining as the original Jojo's Bizarre Adventure OVAs were, a slow start would have done them more good.

I don't want to half to read half the manga just to understand episode one.

What does saying that prove? I'm personally astonished you could dare to go on about how you enjoy something you found very boring for the first chunk (Hell, even finding the will to finish the show after such a weak start is quite surprising).

Let's just bury all this bullshit now, it's quite clear that no discussion of Lucky Star in this thread ever has and ever will be anything but a ridculous shitstorm.

Because it's purdy.

Really, it was a "It must get better since I enjoyed that other series that the studio did" sort've thing.

What a stupid idea, but it worked in that instance.

Right, time to role play.

I'm Gendo.

I really enjoy old anime series, and especially like Ranma 1/2.

Of course I realise that I disliked around half of it, and some of it made me angry, but that doesn't stop me, because I like it.

I am not strongly attracted to well animated shows and like to point out the flaws in people who choose to watch shows based on this.

I'm also a character in an anime that Kuro hasn't seen.

Who else here thinks the character Mad Pierot is interesting, from that one Cowboy Bebop episode?

Okay, maybe he's not interesting, but the way he died was, being trampled by a giant walking drumming dog. Before he was trampled he was stabbed in the leg and he fell down, vulnerable and crying and looking for his mother.

That episode actually had a bad first impression on me, but I ended up liking it. I thought it would be too violent from the coming episode thing, I was wrong.

Anyways, almost finished with Cowboy Bebop, one episode to go.

The episode didn't quite rank so high with me, what with there being such great episodes as Ballad of Fallen Angels and the like, but it was pretty good.

The character was a bit silly.

26, just like any good anime.

But why would you even ask? It takes ten seconds to look it up.

Yeah, I'm not too big on the ridiculously revealing clothing that occurs in far too many anime.

It's not as bad as in other anime I've seen, but it's still a problem.

Oops, sorry, I thought you were referencing Cowboy Bebop's length... now I feel dumber than usual.

I agree, partially, since I like shows longer, even if the originality is watered down.

Of course there's a few exceptions, but not many.

Dragonball? I'm sure it is an exception, I'm sure Ranma is too. But Pokemon it's a perfect example of why shows should be short and sweet, it just got worse and worse as it progressed, even a fan of Pokemon like me can see it going down the drain in terms of originality. It's still going too 10 seasons and counting, ouch.

Yeah, I'm not too big on the ridiculously revealing clothing that occurs in far too many anime.

I don't like having characters begging to be Rule 34'd in an anime I watch a lot, It feels weird seeing it.

Bridget is not exactly an uncommon character in hentai.

I've even seen a decent amount of straight Bridget hentai, which always seems to play out as "What an adorable little girl. Oh. You're not a girl?" which leads directly into the female raping him.
