French woman kills

I don't know if you guys heard about this story, but it is wildly discussed in France.

It's the story of this woman, married to a man. They were expatriates in Seoul (South Korea). When they were on holidays in France, the husband came back to Seoul, to find two frozen dead babies in his fridge. He quickly told the police, and even told them to make some DNA tests, and allowed the authorities to search his house, his computer, whatever they needed to find the responsibles.
The South-Korean DNA results showed that he was the father. He denied it. And he came back to France as a sign of protest, and stayed there with his wife, both being accused of killing their own children. At the time, both were completely lost, they thought it was a huge manipulation, and that it couldn't be true (or so said the media).

However, french DNA results also showed that they were INDEED the parents.
After being held by the cops for a day or something, the wife, Véronique Courjault, admited to have given birth to two children, in 2002 and 2003, and to have killed them, and kept them in the refrigerator for years. She admitted today that she also killed another one of her child right after him being born, in 1999. She says she did it all alone, without the husband knowing. Which is ... weird.
It is said the husband was away a LOT and stuff, on business travels, and their couple wasn't going so well and everything. They have TWO (live) children. One is 10, the other 11.

Things I find disturbing:

• How can a woman hide a pregnancy to her husband, even if he's away a lot.
• How can a woman hide a pregnancy to the french community / neighbours for 9 months, and then, everyone not asking: "So, how's your baby?".
• How can a woman hide dead babies in a fridge for YEARS without the husband knowing.
• How can a man suddenly discover dead babies in the fridge, after years of opening the fridge and using it ? And there was a witness at the time with him (the keeper of the condominium).

This case is filled with weirdness. And it's awesome.

Last I heard, it is said she feeled some sort of "power" over her children, to the point of having power on their actual lives, and taking it away from them. She's a total psychopath to me, if this is true.

Well, French people are pretty crazy, but thats more than crazy. I'msurprised the husband never noticed, I mean even beign away on business, he'd have to be gone for over 9 months at a time, the wife must stay really skinny even while pregnant, or its all a big lie. For some reason I think the wifes trying to take the blame all for herself.

But, I agree... how the hell could she do that, no matter how long he stays away? And not only that, but fit two dead babies in her refrigerator? It'd slightly make more sense if she had an abortion each time a few weeks/months into it, either while he's away for just a short time or before her pregnancy starts to show... But how the hell did she GIVE BIRTH to them? You'd think someone would drive her to the hospital, and therefore know about them, as well as anyone around her. Unless she gave birth to then in her house by herself, which would still probably bring some attention. And if she was keeping them in the fridge, then it's not like she had the baby, moved somewhere across the country, and then did it again around new people.

Apparently, she said she gave birth ALONE. Wich is totally weird. Even if the father is away, there are still the two children. And come on, when you give birth, you scream like hell, and you leave a huge pool of blood behind you. I think the kids would've noticed...
This story is pretty much crazy. There are many facts and things coming in every hour, I guess we'll know a bit more tomorrow, but there are so many theories, so many incoherences in this whole thing. We don't know yet the motives, why she did it, how and everything.
As the lawyers talk to her, we'll learn more.

That's what I'd assume. If there were any witnesses (especially if someone witnessed both births) they'd probably wonder where the baby born the previous year was. Would she buy enough food for 9 months and then never leave the house? I'm sure at least one of her neighbors (or someone else who she would pass occasionally) would have seen her walk out of the house one day looking pregnant.

Exactly. And you scream like hell when you're giving birth in a HOSPITAL with trained professionals and procedures being followed... How could you keep quiet doing it by yourself? And you'd think by the second time the kids would have asked what that thing behind the milk was.

You saying that made me think I might have wrongly defined where the babies were found: it was in that REALLY COLD part of the refrigerator, don't know how it is called, we call it the "congélateur"... Maybe freezer?

I heard a lot of stuff about the reasons of "why keep them".
All of them are psychological. One of them involves "post-birth trauma", or something like that. And "denying her child". But all of those sound weird, because that kind of things apparently happen AFTER the birth, meaning she didn't have any motives to hide the pregnancy before the birth.
Others say it's because, like psychopaths such as Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy, it's because she had a relation of power with her "unborn" children, like she NEEDED to control them, to end their lives. Just like Dahmer kept some parts of his victims, she kept the babies to herself...
