Okay Newgrounds, I've got a problem. I can't stay on task. Whenever I'm doing something boring, like typing an essay (as I should be doing now) I always get distracted, and come on here (like I'm doing now). Help me NG, how do I stay focused?

There really isn't much you can do but force yourself to work. I know exactly how you feel; I go through it all the time.

You need to get some will power. Also, listen to music if it helps, I do it.

Sorry but lol first don't post here. Second, try to not stop typing, that's the key, it keeps you focused.

Like snayk said, just get yourself to work. Getting something started can be considered the "barrier to entry". Once you get yourself working on it, it'll be much easier to keep at it. Although it may seem stupid, some websites offer good advice on how to prioritize your time.

Hahaha me too, but when I do it its like
"Ill write one sentance here then Ill go on NG for an hour, then work on Flash for an hour, and then I'll write another sentance..."
And then I don't even do it.
Haha, unplugging internet now, Ill check back on your ideas when I need to research and then get sidetracked to here.

I've got ADHD. When I have to write an essay or something, I usually do that for a few minutes, then go on a website for a few minutes, then do more homework, then do something, then homework, little cycles that each last a few minutes. It would be quicker to do my homework all at once, but I can't sit still and stay focused long enough to do that. I hear meditation can help with focus, maybe you should try that.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances

Set up reards for yourself.
Such as, make yourself do a paragraph, but once you complete it allot yourself 5-10 mins on the bbs.
Sorry I'm not that great in terms of help. Normally I just put my head down and plow through any long or uninteresting assignments.

That's what I do.
I'm taking my 10 minute study break right now.
Really, it works. Just make sure you don't just rush through your work in order to get to your break you have set up.

Tell yourself that once its done, its out the way and you wont have to think about it anymore and you can spend more time on the internet.
