how about someone make a game, maybe the creator of defend your castle, that you drop people in front of tanks in hopes that the tanks will stop...oh wait, that'd just be a recreation of the effort of those few foolish americans that went the whole 9 yards and travelled to Baghdad to do that. Human shields their called...i could make a whole topic about them. Maybe i will, maybe i will...

It's a bit late, we've already dropped two dozen Tomahawk missiles on Baghdad.

Yeah, I agree. It is Saddam's last stand, and any desperate man tries to take his enemy down with him. I'm on full guard for another terrorist attack with US boarders.

Ooooooo!
I got it! Flash game where you go and stick daisies in the barrels of US soldier's guns!!!
And the final boss fight can be you vs Bush, and you're armed with a "peace cannon".
I'm anti-war, and I rather enjoy the bash Osama/Saddam games. I love assasin, too. This is just the place for that stuff.
I'm a bit shaken, as well- though... about 4 of my closest joined the military a year or two ago. All but one is in the gulf now. I just hope this is over quickly

I'm for UN Resolution Enforcement and the US is definitely doing the right thing. As for that flash, but if you wanted a good ending to that game, you could have a peace protester defeat Bush with a pretzel. (Remember the choking incident when he fell and scraped his face?)

True, but the iraqi's already said they wouldn't be fighting in the desert alot, instead, they are massing in Bahgdad, and the U.S said they wouldn't go into an urban warefare situation.

I think the U.S. has declared they'd prefer not to go into urban war situations, but they didn't rule it out.

I'm scared for my country because the world hates us more than ever. Through these actions, this resistance to peace, the eagerness to use our power with out yielding to the opinions of our nieghbors re-enforces the idea that we are a threat to the world around us, that we are too powerful and power hungery.
I understand that this war is a complicated matter, and that both the advocates and the protesters have both valid and very tainted reasons for their stances... so I don't mean to over simplify things... but damn. Isn't thier another way? Have we really exhausted all our peaceful resources?
I have several close friends in the armed forces. I respect what they are trying to do for me and thier country, but I'm selfish too - I don't want them in harms way.
I hope that we do not hurt the iraqi people... those who are innocent civilians whom we are suppossed to be trying to save from a tyrant.
This war a lot to try and comprehend.

the threat of a terrorist attack is real. on the outside, i will still go to school, i will still go to work, and i will still take my vacation in the summer and not be afraid. in the inside, i'm deathly afraid for my friends in the Gulf, i'm deathly afraid of another attack anywhere near my home or my friend's homes all over the country, and i'm deathly afraid of having to say goodbye again like i did 9/11.

actually, a hispanic man, i think he was about 21 or so, was arrested in Chicago a couple months ago. he was accused of plotting to use chemical agents, i believe, in Chicago.
that's all well and good that they found him, but i take the El (subway) everyday, i go to school in the West Loop (the Loop in Chicago is downtown), my mom works in the Loop, and i live just north of the Loop in Lincoln Park. all in all, i'm really close to downtown. if someone detonated a chemical weapon in Chicago, i may be screwed.
basically what i'm saying is that there is no telling who is going to do what to us. all we can do is be vigilant and pray that we will all be ok.

Very well put. Very.
That echoes what I truly feel, everything from being selfish about friends and their safety, to peace demonstrations, and the like. I just returned from one, and I left when it started getting too violent. I'm not talking riots or anything, but after they started burning flags, I decided that I wanted to stick with my principles. I am, however, watching it on the television, and the entire downtown area is almost devoid of cars, because of people in the streets. The police...are just...waiting, watching. Letting them. Either they're showing a lot of restraint...or they sympathize, and are letting the march/huge roadblock of people do their sit in for them.

Heh, just a little, something the "Stop the war" coalitions are having difficulty grasping right now. Out on their marches, freezing their butts off trying to stop missiles that have already fallen, and a war that is already in deep.
As for the iraqi civilians, sure, nobody wants the innocent to die, but their families can blame their dear President Hussein for that if it happens. If he had left like he was told to, his people would have been safe.
The fear of death gripped him, no doubt, nobody likes to know they're going to die, but a captain on a ship would give the last seat on a lifeboat to another passenger, put others before himself.
Hell, what am I talking about? This is Saddam Hussein we're talking about here...
Lets hope soon that he will rest in pieces, and our men and women out there shall come home safe and well.

I found out something today that is interesting. Democracy lets somebody have the freedom of speech, right? Saddam is a threat to our Democracy. So we fight against that threat so that everyone can be free. All of the Anti-War protesers are saying that we have no right in Iraq. They are fully using the right to freedom of speech. What they don't understand is that those marines are fighting for Democray and freedom. The same Democracy that enables them to protest. So in a way they are protesting their right to protest!

War IS a complicated matter you're right. For that reason, whenever someone asks me if I am pro-war or anti-war.. I can't really give a straight answer. Yes Saddam needs to be removed of his power, and yes it doesn't look like the Iraqis or anyone else will solve their problem anytime soon... but this war will have some serious cons for the US afterward, mostly in the realm of nation-relations (rhyme!). And depending on how deeply other countries are pissed off by the attack, and Russia n' other places are with the disruption of their oil deals; the worst may be yet to come. History is one big progressing storyline, so many events of the past are starting to add up to a climactic end.
