Yea, as ramagi and Wade have said, we aren't being as lenient on the review guidelines, now that we're not committing to banning people for months on end.
If you're saying stuff like "I did not like this movie" you might get banned for a couple days. Why? Because reviews are a space to not only give your personal opinion, but also to explain WHY so that the author can improve their submissions in the future. "I did not like this movie" is not helpful in the slightest. You might not get banned, but it probably isn't worth the risk.

Oh sweet, it's about time. <3
I got review banned a long time ago and was stuck unable to review for months, I learnt my lesson pretty quickly but I suffered for months!
I'm glad the system has been fixed, hopefully now stupid and offensive reviews will drop, but reviews will perhaps increase.
The increased whistle power is also somewhat nice, I wonder how much more power I got? No way to tell, haha.

Now that we have both Ross and Liljim doing all our back end programming, they each have more time to work on more things. While they have both been very busy with the redesign, Ross was able to spend some time improving the review mod tools. Review mods can now set bans like they do on the forums, that expire automatically.
Jaesus, finally. It took forever for that to be pulled off. :\
In addition, a copy of your rule breaking review and a ban reason from the mod will be automatically sent to your PM inbox! We are trying hard to make the site more fair, and fun, for everyone involved. We hope this improvement in communication makes things easier on those getting banned. In the past they would typically email me, or others, asking why they were banned. Now they will know why they were banned and won't have to inquire about their ban.
Awesome. This is a really good idea, and i'm surprised it hadn't been implemented earlier. Thank goodness for Ross, huh? ;)
There may be a lot more bans being handed out howerver. The mods would often hold back on banning users for small offenses because they knew they maybe sentancing them to a 2-3 month ban, or longer. Now they can give a 2-3 day ban if they feel it's a small offense, but it lets the user know they did something wrong and they can hopefully learn from the mistake.
C'est la vie. I like this idea a lot tbh, it's as good (if not better) than the current way the forum banning works.

Nice to see that the review banning system has finally made a big improvement, despite how long it took to do it. :p
Filler text.
Because this space needs to be bigger than it already should be.
Jigen made this sig. madknt downsized it to fit the filesize limit. Go team.

Even though I don't review submissions very often, it's great to hear that we now have review bans that automatically expire and PM notifications of review bans explaining what happened. I'm also glad to hear that the whistle power has improved too. It's always nice to see the site removed.

Ooh, I've broken the review guidelines a few times back in the day. I actually hope that they get flagged and deleted. I look back on them and say, "Oh, my God, what the hell was I thinking when I wrote that?"
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I actually wouldn't object to that. In comparison to most of the garbage I get from people your age group you're a pretty good reviewer.
I do wish you'd stop labelling everything though. :'(

I would love to delete reviews I've left in the past too that I just don't agree with anymore and some of my old reviews are pretty gay. ha ha.
