oh MAN I remember writing a long ass response yesterday, but i guess I forgot to post it when i changed windows.... wow that really pisses me off....

Well, since I have no urge to write all that again, i'll give the long story short.

The stencils are awesome, I like the style... have u ever thought of adding something to hte smiley face to make it more you, like X's on the eyes or a teardrop or something?

yea keep practicing, and don't let anyone tell you to quit. I thought of quitting many times but I just kept pushing it cuz there was this dude that inspired the shit outta me. He taught me how to do graff... im nothing like i was when he taught me, (I am waaay better now) and I wanted to show him how much better I got by taggin shit and makin it sick. I got a lot of praise for my tags, and different graff artists said I was sick, and that my style was clean, clear, and under control ;)

then that same guy that taught me graff accused me of being a snitch... that bitches graffiti in the park caused trouble for me and my boy, we have problems cuz of this fuckin guy, and we never dropped nobodys name.. then this guy wants to call me a snitch? of all the snake fuckin things to do, yo... now I tag out of hate, cuz I wanna out do this fag, but I've got a long way to go, and a lot of practice to do, cuz this guy is up there as one of the best in the city...

im glad i got taught by him, but i hope he's stopped calling me a snitch, cuz if i hear one more fuckin thing about that im gonna cross out every last one of his tags and snuff that kid in the face, nobody calls me a snitch.

ok thats enough ranting, stay writing

peace

Thanks a bunch! I think I should take some pics of my work up on the streets. I also want to get a few of Serch's work. I seen his up and I didn't put mine next to his on the back of the street light, I put it on a lower spot on the pole, instead. When I see his stencils, they are too damn perfect. I think I need some better tips so maybe it can help with how the paint comes out because I either get too much paint on one spot, or not enough.

now I tag out of hate, cuz I wanna out do this fag, but I've got a long way to go, and a lot of practice to do, cuz this guy is up there as one of the best in

Motivation is the person that taught you how to do it.

Don't slash anyone, especially if its someone that helped you get where you are. Instead just top him on as much work as you can. You'll end up looking like and becoming a hater. I hate that and what annoys me the most from haters is that sometimes, they go as far as to jump repeatedly to try to peel off a sticker. I have seen some toy ass stickers, but I leave them there because I wouldn't want nobody to take my shit off, even though I noticed some of my shit is gone, already.

I've seen some other writer around that does stencils just like me. He/she goes by the name, "Cats." No offense or anything, but I think that name sucks.

Oh, and I'm going to check out a graffiti store today. Should be fun to buy some markers, paint, and all of that stuff.

Don't ignore the post above, please. :)

Well, I went to the graffiti shop called 33third in West L.A. and it was pretty neat. Had records, CDs, graffiti supplies, or course. I bought some supplies and one of the guys said the tips suck and the ink I got also sucked, and also recommended me another ink next time I came back.

The guy at the register told me to check out the back of the store and it was nothing but beautiful art their, besides some other taggers who were talking about, "I'm gonna' slash that when I come back." Didn't have my camera with me, so no pics.

I will admit I did feel a bit intimidated while going in there, but if I go there in the future, I'm sure I'll feel at home.

Here is the stuff a bought. Expensive!

yeaaa i like this, we're gettin more writers in the thread, and yea anyone's welcome as long as you have a love for the art of Graffiti.

I was thinkin.... i think that all writers here shud do a piece giving a shoutout to the rest of us in this thread, and then posting a pic of it... I mean, this thread has turned into my number 1 place to come to, to vent my ideas and feelings about graffiti, cuz none of the dudes I chill with wanna hear it... And when I tell them, they pretend to listen, but dont even pretend to care, so this is where I vent... and I think that this place has turned into a big part of my life, even if its like nerd central in the other topics...

remember, it takes a special fuckin person to get into graffiti and STAY into graffiti, so don't let anyone call it dumb, or a waste of time or money.

If someone pays $300 for football equipment to join their schools football team, and their reason is "because football is fun", that's your exact same reason. The only difference is, the football player probably won't make it to the major league, no matter how hard he tries, but as a graff artist, EVERYone has a shot at making it to hte big leagues, all it takes is hard work... and dont forget that... so graff isnt a waste of money, its as legit as any other hobbie that costs money

Ok, I'm gonna go design a piece, flick that shit with my webcam (if i can find it) and post it right here....

peace

Its one of my number one places to come to as well, however, I haven't even done enough art work for myself and not really any for my (real life) friends. Its weird though how it seems like you got into graffiti without friends doing it. I mostly started getting into it because of my friends in high school, but never really did it. It was till recently that I started getting the supplies and starting to look at graffiti while on the freeways, etc. I think it mostly has to do with me being unhappy and all. I'm not the "I'm glad to be single" type, so graffiti sort of makes me happy. I've always been into art since I was little.

remember, it takes a special fuckin person to get into graffiti and STAY into graffiti, so don't let anyone call it dumb, or a waste of time or money.

You are correct. Mostly at my high school, a lot of people tag the school with their toy shit on books and all and have beef and all, but once they are out of school its like they don't even do it anymore. When I left school, it was like I got into it even more. Maybe the beef has a lot to do with it. My friends' crew had a lot of beef for no reason. There were even a couple of girls that made some lame ass crew and all they do it slash with whack ass Sharpies and talk shit to my friend's, which are guys. We all make fun of them and call them lame ass school crews that don't even get up on the streets.

Jaja! You are so correct. Some of those football players don't even get no PT. We get the playing-time as long as we are free and don't get caught. The only reason people will have a different opinion is because graffiti for the most part, is illegal.

Check out my latest work. I had fun doing these with my new spray cans.

Belton paint all the way. Fuck Painter's Touch!

I really like that new stuff Lust.

Anyways, a piece that represents the crew would be cool as shit. My friends and I have been trying to come up with a tattoo that represents all of us in some way. When I get better, though, I would be more than willing to put it up around town.

I really hope I'll stick with graffiti, I haven't stuck with anything I've done in my life, except Parkour and Music, so this is something along the lines of proving it to myself that I can be good at this and I can stick with it.

Well, what is the name of your crew? Just come up with the letter in the crew that means the most. You don't have to create any piece of the sort, but can just wear the letter on your clothes. Just don't make it seem like you guys are a gang, lol.

Hey you know how to do Parkour? I didn't know what that was and so I Wikipediad that shit a couple of moments ago and saw that it was the high-flying jumping stuff. I wish I knew how to do that, but I'm not in good of enough shape to do it. That stuff can really help you with graff. Get up high and helps to run away from trouble.

yo man I wanna learn Parkour, that shit is so intense. I can imagine myself jumping from rooftops and shit with like a bag of spraypaint, and hitting the craziest spots. And WHAT cop can chase down a traceur?

Aside from that, its just awesome, you could do that shit at night dressed in a ninja costume, and just totally be a real ninja. HOW SICK IS THAT!??!

I'm gonna parkour.... even if its of french origin :P

yoyo new layout is sick. I just ot a new job, so now I can actually take hold of graffiti and fly with it. Is anyone else noticing that the typing when ur trying to post is kinda laggy? meh.

Anyway, I don't have a lot of time off aside from after work, which ends at 10pm EST, (7pmPST). So I'l do what I can to do some pieces and take pictures of them. Finally I'll have money for the paint and pens, thsi is gonna be a new era of my life.

Oh ya and Sadgirl, I read the story about your dog, and i have to say it was really sad, sorry about that even if I dont know how recent that was.

k peace

You know, thats always been like a low-key fantasy for me. To be able to run and climb things with skill and quickness. Too bad I'm not in good of shape to do it. I think I will at least attempt to go up on a billboard to catch a spot, one day though.

Its laggy because of the people and its new and all. Some stuff still doesn't work. Tom talks about it in the front page. And cool that you got yourself a job. Have fun, since you really don't have to save money. If I wasn't planning to go to college soon, I would of bought colorsgalor of paint. Growing up sucks.

It really will if you can keep your job, just be careful out there and don't get careless.

Well, I can't help you out with learning it. Look up New York Parkour if you get a chance, I'm sure there's a team out there that can teach you some stuff. Just please, if you get caught while using Parkour to do Graffiti, please, PLEASE, do not tell the cops that what you were doing is Parkour.

Aside from that, its just awesome, you could do that shit at night dressed in a ninja costume, and just totally be a real ninja. HOW SICK IS THAT!??!

HA! Rob dressed up as Santa Claus for one of our videos. It was just as cool.

I was half talking about the crew here, and my friends and I. With my friends, we're not a crew or anything, just a bunch of real close friends. As for the crew here, I said I was willing to tag up a piece we come up with here around my town.

I've been doing Parkour for over two years now, and I'm now part of a professional Parkour/Freerunning team. And it's not just the roof jumping shit you see, that's a rare part of it. I'm sure you know what it actually is if you've read the wiki file of it. Are you anywhere near Santa Monica or UCLA? If so, there are regular seesions out there in which a couple of my buddies and I could teach you some stuff.

wuddup guys, wuddup casino, welcome buddy. U can definitely join, just gotta show love for graff and ur good to go.

k listen, hombres and senoras

I know this is totally off topic, and I should probably be posting this somewhere else, but I wanna know what you guys think i shud do... ill post this up in the general topic too

theres this girl (my ex), and she made really good friends with my buddy, (long enough friends to maybe say best friends) and this girl doesnt really talk many other guys and we just started talking again recently after a long spiel of not talking.

She asked my other friend "Would you choose your best friend as someone to love for the rest of your life?"

Now, I'm confused... I've treated this girl like I treat the bottom of my skate shoes, not purposely or to gain some kind of gratification, but when she angered me, I just totally stopped talking to her without even saying anything, and ive doen this like 2 or 3 times. She ends up talking to my friend, who tlaks to me and says "listen, man. talk to ur girl" and i usually do. I realize im pretty childish about shit like that, but this time (since i realized my childish ways and have put that to an end) I talked to her through my own will... She DID talk to my friend this time, but that wasn't why I started talking to her again.

The reason why I'm confused is because I realized something when I was high... There must be some sort of reason why this girl keeps wanting to be friends again after everything i do, and all the crap that people tell her that i say. I don't say bad shit ab out her, but somehow shit just manages to be created, how I say all this nasty shit about her.

totally untrue, i never say bad shit about this girl...

So anyway, yea... she hears that i say all this mean shit, and i stop talking to her, and she still wants to be friends (and friends aaaalways leads to more than friends with this girl and me)... but for some reason she looks like shes gonna start a relationship with my friend (her "best" friend)... this severely bugs the shit outta me.... Shes always said she'd never go out with him because it would ruin the friendship... but this guy is her fuckin dog... he follows her around, theyre always hanging out, he always talks ot her on msn...

I'm not a girl, so I don't know how the "friend zone" works.. theyve been "good friends" for a very long time, and I don't know if thats getting him closer to going out with her, or getting him farther away.... is she starting to see how loyal he is, and what a good boyfriend trait that is? Or am i just sketching out, cuz that whole "choosing ur best friend as the person u love for the rest of ur life" thing she said to my buddy doesnt REALLY sound like she's talking about my other friend, but it does enough to make me uneasy...

sorry if you got confused at all

but what shud i do?

any repopnse will be appreciated

peace

i love the anonymousness of NG

How do you feel about this girl? Are you jealous that she's going to date your best friend? She might be trying to make you jealous. Anyways, if you're jealous, and you still like this girl, you need to make your move now. If you don't give a shit, let it happen.

Either way, talk to your best friend about it. See what he thinks, even if you do still like this chick, you might want to let him date her, just because he's been waiting to date her for a while now.

Yes, it is so next time post it here.

I'll give you my thoughts on it though. I think that in a way maybe she was using you to get to your friend? Don't know the situation all like that so ....meh. And on close friends being together, I think that is always a big risk because friends sometimes or, for the most part are better off as friends and if any problems ever occur, it can ruin that strong friendship that they once had. : ( 6

Happened to me once; I was fine being a friend with her, but she wanted a relationship, and in the end, I fucked up the relationship, and our friendship. I've beaten myself up (mentally, not physically) over it ever since.

ANYWAYS: Graffiti.

Leave her man, if you keep giving her shit, then its not worth trying to fake being friends, just tell her you don't think its working out between you guys anymore and its best if you guys stop talking all together.

No offense, but I think both of those names aren't any good. Here are some I'm just coming up with at the top of my head. Lets see how many I can think of.

BOOK, COPR, LUZEM, 7UP, BORD, UPSET, DLETE, 2LATE....bleh.

Oh, and I got my Getting Up game yesterday in the mail. So far, its fun but very very frustrating at times. I've also got a blue streak and a Silver Molotow marker from graffinc.com. Supplies came pretty quick and I had fun with them this morning, although I've been letting myself down, lately.

Ever since that incident with the gang banger, I've been too shy and really hesitate that anyone sees me. Even some dumb lady from a cross the street. I didn't put a sticker up because I know that she would see me even though I know that she wouldn't have done shit about it.

I like LOST?E more than any of those, sorry. I like the metals idea, maybe SILVER or SVLR. BORD would give the wrong idea to people, like you were only doing graffiti because you were bored.

Actually...how about NUMB as a name? I was thinking of Platinum.

I head that getting up had some Parkour in it. ANyways, one of the biggest parts of Parkour is getting over your FEAR (another cool name) of what you're doing. You can't be afraid, because that's when you get hurt, or in the case of graffiti, caught. Graffiti is as much mental as it is physical ability.

Oh Snype, you're such a fag.

I haven't the feintest idea what that picture says or is, but sure, you're welcome to join. As for markers, I think Airbuster made a post about good markers towards the end of the last page if you want to look it up.

Both SILVER and SVLR sound weak. Sounds like some shit like somebody saw a T-Mobile commercial or something. BORD isn't all that great, but if you add an "R" to it at the end, it makes it waaay better.

NUMB, is pretty good and if you add an R to it, it would as it says, 'number.'

Well, not the getting up I'm doing. Its not like I'm climbing anything, rather just jumping up and getting low to put stickers on those box thingys that carry newspapers in them. You are right, though. Sometimes, I can't do it because Im' afraid someone might say something and all. The people that I try not to do it in front of are mostly young men that look like they could be in a gang, or actually write, as well.

Great markers for blackbooks and stickers or whatevers are called "Deco." I really don't know where to get them since I bought mine from a graffiti store. They are pretty expensive, though. I think you need to improve, but I can't lie...I can't do any of that stuff, yet. Letters look a bit too jumbly, more than they should. Practice makes perfect. :) Also, mind telling us what it says?

Oh, and this morning, while I was mobbing and jogging, I went back to check on a some stickers, as I usually do to make sure they are still there. I go to one that I put up by a Crenshaw bus stop, close to the mall and I see a stupid sticker over mine, not completely, but just a lil' bit that said, "tonka toy" on it. It pissed the Hell out of me. I sat there and thought for a second and I felt even more inspired. I remembered that Serch interview on 50mmlosangeles.com saying that some people don't like it but obviously there are noticing it and it make me feel good. Good that someone noticed it. I got up and started to leave, but then I was like, "Fuck it!" in my head and walked back to the bus sign and ripped that stupid sticker off. Along with the ripping, mine ripped off a bit but it still stayed. I also noticed that some Serch stickers were ripped. Straight out haters!

Here is a Serch sticker I took a pic of. Its one of his partners, "Brand" which I actually think he was the one that made it. Klean!

Here are some I made this morning from inspiration and boredom. I see that I'm getting better....well...I think. : ( 6

BORDR? Eh, two letters. Plus, I like my names to actually mean something. Too bad NEON doesn't mean shit.

I should have made that into two paragraphs; I thought you mentioned Marc Ecko's Getting Up, thus I mentioned Parkour. And the Fear part? Fuck philosophies, I would be scared shitless to get up around gang members.

Oh, and this morning,

Why don't you just tag another one of your stickers over the one covering your original sticker?

I like that. Very much so.

I like the style of the one on top, third from right. Not so much the ones similar to the one top, far right. Never the less, you've improved massively. I really like your style, though. It seems very original.

OH! I noticed this amazing piece when I was in LA last week. It was on the west embankment of the LA river, on I-10. This piece spanned the entire side of the LA River. It went from the bottom, all the way to the rim, and it was about twice as long. That shit must have taken a lot of planning and even more time.

Oh shit! Harvey Birdman is on. Gotta fly.

Oh Snype, you're such a fag.

Last time I checked, the word 'border' does mean something. Neon is a word as well. Look it up.

Thats why morning time is a pretty good time. The gangbangers are usually outside looking for trouble or whatevers from 11:00 PM-4:00 AM so walking the streets at those times is pretty scary. I think I'll get up and go mobbing at 5:10 am this coming weekend.

Why don't you just tag another one of your stickers over the one covering your original sticker?

To show and set an example that there are people hating on me. They'll see that my sticker is ripped, but still there for the most part. If I put another sticker over it, I would probably have just wasted one on a spot that has been taken by me and would make it easier to remove if I had put it over.

I like that. Very much so.

I'm still wondering how he got the white coloring on the letters.

Thanks a bunch. All criticism is welcomed and if it ever was meant to offend me or put me down, it would be a better motivation. Thanks once again. I'm hoping that they can be eye catchers out there in the streets.

I'm not very familiar with the areas by the L.A. River although I did pass it up on Thursday before going to a Dodgers game. Saw some nice graffiti. : ( 6
