"A student walked into a rural school with a gun and shot the principal several times Friday morning before he was taken into custody, authorities said. All the children were reported safe."

"Rupp said the shooter, whom she described as a freshman with few friends, came to school with a .22-caliber pistol and a rifle, but that a janitor wrestled the rifle away from him."

As it turns out, the principal was reported dead on Fox news, CNN didn't confirm him dead, however. This is what, the 3rd or 4th school incident in a month? I smell tighter security and kids being very edgy of loners in their schools.

It's insane the amount of school shootings and just threats alone there has been in a single month, it's like a bunch of people got together at a angsty loners convention and just said "this month we're all just going to snap, all in favour? That would never work. Firstly because of the Second Amendment. Second, people will always find ways to carry guns, just like people still find ways to find and use illegal drugs. I don't know what any possible solution could be. I'm in favour of stricter gun control, but in the US, that would be met with extremely stiff opposition.

That argument is flawed. When prohibition was ended, it required an amendment to the constitution to strike down the prohibition amendment. People then weren't saying, "if we get rid of that, why not the whole anti-slavery thing too". And the people don't decide on a constitutional amendment, the House and Senate do. That would keep the local nutjobs out of the process. But, I'm not that good with American politics, so I may be mistaken. And this is starting to sound like something that should be in the politics forum, so I'll just stop now.
