Well, since Tom asked so nicely, here are a few movies that might be deemed important, with the reasons you may want to include them:
- Resident Evil 2.9; This little known movie deserves the honour because, despite having very crappy drawings, poor voice acting, ridiculous animation and was submited 3 years ago, it's still review rated as the third funniest movie in the portal. Which is a huge accomplishment, if you stop to think about it.
- Field Guide to Snapping; Because it featured very smooth animation and great drawings (as well as a cool sound track) for its time, as well as being one of first examples I can find of a commercial (that is to say, as far as I can tell, professional done) flash music video submitted to the portal, something that Akira the Don (to name one example) now also does.
- Black Mage vs Fighter; Simply because it heralded the (quite) popular 8bit theatre "vs" series. If not it, then at least Garland Vs. The Imps (which is just too funny).
- X-Men: Death Becomes Them; The beginning of Matt Gardner's very successful comic parodies.
- Trapped; Which I imagine needs no explanation as to why for Tom...
- *Out Of This World 1*; Well, it isn't all that important a movie (it didn't start any trends as far I can tell), nor did it have a huge number of views, nor did it <insert meaningful aspect>... But, for it's time it was quite an advanced movie.
- Mario VS. Sonic (VGDC); Tom, how could you miss this movie! It's massively influential, really well made, funny and has huge number of views... in short, it has all the reasons in the world to be included in the history.
- Angry White Boy Polka; Just because Weird Al himself liked the movie...
- 8 Bit D&D; Well, it's still in the top 20 after so many years, I guess it must have done something right!
- Rokémon!; For taking sprite animations to a new level.
I'm sure you won't include all these movies, but "Mario VS. Sonic (VGDC)" and "Resident Evil 2.9" probably do deserve the honour, so at least consider them, won't you?
Finally, Mystic Island 1, Deep Fried, Live! and Ytown Public Original may all deserve mentioning, specially "Deep Fried, Live!" (although I'm secretly hoping Mystic Island also gets a spot, I love that series!).
<Whew>
(Now I just hope you actually read this, else my work has been for naught!).
