Your right in some sense, as people do make games like crazy for the money and usually they fail pretty badly, but there's always some game that you hear about CONSTANTLY for each system, like the Halos so far you've heard lots about from friends. I have heard jack shit about the Wii games, other than maybe tennis, where 20 people get their eyes poked out every time it's played :P.

RE: Consoles/Games

I haven't played many Wii games, although I must say some shooters (COD3 and Red Steel) control really well with the Wiimote. It brings the twitch-reflex back from gaming with a mouse.

Also, does anybody have Gears of War (PC)? I just bought it -- amazing game so far, although ever since thursday the "Games for Windows - Live" executable has been crashing at the loading screen, bringing the whole game with it. Oh, Epic, why? Why Microsoft? Why LIVE? Their own online services (server browser) are all I need, none of this "trueskill matchmaking" bullshit and not being able to play ranked matches unless I pay $60 a year. Fuck Microsoft.

If I can figure out the problem, I'd love to get online with someone. Gamertag's in the sig.

I like the wii. Its easy casual gaming without the ultra realistic graphics and gameplay. I must say i play wii sports and mario galaxy more than any halo or mass effect.

other than that its pretty shitty...

then again, the only games my friend has are

Mario Galaxy, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Spiderman: Friend or Foe, and Star Wars: The Original Saga....

and I havent played MG or SW!

In all fairness, the games that Nintendo themselves actually create are almost always very high quality and very fun. Strikers, Prime, Galaxy, Zelda, Smash, etc, etc.

To be honest, I found it kind of meh. There wasn't much thought put towards what caused an impact this year. They pretty much just grabbed the portal header characters and a few others. In the filmstrips at the end, there were even a couple of characters who didn't see any significant entries this year. But that's kind of expected, so it isn't really what bugged me. What got my goat was that almost every piece of art was traced or heavily referenced. I'm not saying they didn't do any work, but it seems like if you do enough of it yourself, any creativity-nabbing after that is fair game. I don't hate it, I just don't like it. It's destined to be overrated.

This is the first one, it has the little idea I took off of google images where I saw the paper clip from Microsoft Word, but that quality isn't great. I also took the G from something I had seen on Google when I was looking, so I hope it looks good. The second one I'll post in a second.

Sorry, but I have to double post so that I can have them both at once. This is the other one I made, but I added some texture to the "Grammar Nazi" flag so it looks a little bit more realistic. I hope that this one comes out a little better quality-wise with the text. I turned the DPI up to 800 hoping that it would look really good since it takes up so little room. Well, without further a due:

(The eintz came from the episode of south park where the kids go to a concentration tolerance camp to learn about racial intolerance and the fuhrer (don't know exact spelling but this looks correct) says "Eintz Beaaar" with the macaroni pictures since it doesn't show any sort of human happiness. It's damn funny)
