wtf.

You can hide comments on deviantart? Why even make art if you don't want constructive criticism?

Juding from the reviews and score, I'm guessing people don't like my 3 day games anymore.
Better start working more on them >:O

I think anime at that level (low) is more of an acceptance into some sort of community rather than actually being good at drawing. that's why those people are saying 'cute' instead of anything artistic related

but then she'd never improve, because no one tells her what she needs to fix to get higher than acceptance level.

Yeah, I'm talking about an 'anime' community though, rather than an 'artistic' community. Like to be accepted by other anime lovers, you have to be able to trace or crudely draw the most popular characters

it means cute, i fuckin HATE how so many non japanese girls think they're being cute by spamming those 2 words (cute and thanks in japanese). IMO, if you don't speak the language and the entire sentence prior is NOT in japanese, theres no reason the last word should be.

Even i don't do that, and i SPEAK Japanese >__<

Lol i'm the opposite, i'll be all like "nihongo wo tanoshii dayo, anata ga suki desu . . . . CUTE!!!"

>_>

Good stuff. Very Whovian.

Haha, you're the second person to tell me that this reminds them of Doctor Who. I've only seen an episode or two, but I can see the resemblance. Thanks!

Yeesh, you'd think that with the movie having come out, even your average joe would recognize a flawless recreation of two of the characters. Hats off to you anyhow.

Not sure if anyone remembers me having posed the question of "What will be this year's overdone costume?", but in Toronto, the results were Hunter S. Thompson (how current...) and The Joker (again, but this time the nurse version).

My prediction bombed. I didn't see a single MJ, but our neighbours were nice enough to play Thriller on loop for several hours on their front porch.

tl;dr

I'm really buzzed from two cups of coffee this mornin'.

I don't understand animating on caffine guys - it's too fast, too rushed, they say the coffee helps and makes ya more creative but I can't be creative when the thought I'm thinking about is a few sentences ahead of me.

On the other hand its Hilarius because it makes animating so intense. Though I like drawing when my hand stays still and find a lot more control z-ing happens on coffee.

Anyway enough I have a midterm in poetry to take today and then poetry to write. Wish me luck my reg peeps!

Little Things in games

Lil things are important. Like having a lil' sound FX play each time the character hits the ground. I did it in demenius darkness but I'm fumbling figuring it out in my next game but got some ideas. Other things like in-game dialogue separate from cutscenes. The dude walks up to some traps and the character has his own comments. Really helps playing as the character or getting into the created world.

Backgrounds
I feel I have more experience as a character animator. lol As my favorite bits are focusing on makin the animated dude come to life with the right blinks and facial expression or arm movements. Can't wait til the more action filled Duder episodesto animate more violence. But ya I feel I'm a shit BG artist though I'm getting there. Perhaps the next peice of mine to the art portal will be a practice BG. I'll have to take a good look at some of Adam Phillips animations to learn how it makes it so beautiful - I bet just looking at it I can pick some things up.

Oh shi-
Midterm starts in 30 mins and I'm a 35 min walk away. Peace guys!

Caffeine doesn't make you more creative, it makes you more focused.
So it helps to have a plan ahead of time.

At least, it's been GOD for me getting my work done. You don't code 6000 lines in a week on sweat and tears alone (that was one crazy week back in april that I don't think I'll ever be able to replicate).

Also I think I'm over my withdrawal. I'll wait another week or so before starting up again.

I was finishing up my Halloween flash the whole day, scrambling to get it done it time for the contest. I do hope it takes a prize, but there are a lot of really good entries this year. I'm just glad to have it finished, it's been haunting me this whole month!

Which is great for me, since my creativity is inversely proportional to focus :p Gotta love those long, productive mornings. Too bad it never lasts.
