Sometimes it helps to have multiple projects to work on. That way you can go back and forth between them when you lose interest in them. Something I like to do is brainstorm before I go to sleep, it helps me stay motivated when I wake up.

If you feel that you have too many ideas, you should write them/draw them and store them for later. That way if you get excited about a great idea that just came to you, it doesn't end up killing your current project.

It also helps to storyboard your entire animation from beginning to end (or, if you're a programmer, draw a giant visual web of your game) so that you know exactly how the pieces will be put together. I usually find that if I ever abandon an idea, it's because I haven't fleshed out the idea enough, or I don't have the coding knowledge or artistic ability to create a certain aspect.

Any ideas what the untitled game listed in upcoming games is, or who the authors are? Havent seen anything from power of three that has blown me away yet, although cave of wonders was great and time fcuk was fun for a while too.

My personal philosophy is that entertainment can never be overrated, because it's purpose is to entertain lots of people. If it entertains lots of people, well, it does it's job whether I like it or not. People get all kinds of silly over songs, movies, games, etc.

I've just been reading up on cloud networks on Wiki and various other articles and I'm interested. I see cloud networks as the way forward but I'm not sure that the OS is going to die that quickly, but things in computing change fast. Maybe in 10 years we'll all be using cloud networks, or maybe it's just another fad. Either way though it's going to be a big blow for the larger software industries but good news for indy developers. I mean if you make a killer app then all you need to do is get some small publicity and the rest will snowball, right, or maybe not?

What does everyone else think?
