Ahh, Joey's site. I remember that! Joey's managed to escape the grip of WoW these days, and there's actually a cartoon in the works. Pretty sure the forums have died out though.

This was right after Dale Earnhardt died. This video actually got a fair amount of buzz, hitting local news stations and pissing a whole lot of race fans off. The guy lives in a pretty big racing community.

They convinced me to submit animation so I decided to start submitting smallish games and animations. That was before there was actually a distinction between a game and animation swf on the site.

I think I first visited the site in '00 or '01. I remember there being a type of sim game where you were a thug, and had to pimp hoes out and deal drugs. The cops would come after you and you could lie to them to get out of trouble.

Don't remember the name of it though.

I remember the website looking more like a light bright too.

I was all depressed (well mostly unhappy) and it was raining outside, I love rain and went for a walk. I FOUND 20$ :D

First Visit to Newgrounds

Games i think were my initial reason to come here. Then i finally got flash and started using the forums casually then i just focused on flash bbs now it's pretty much just you guys in the reg lounge.

Holy cow ! What the hell is that resolution. My screen can't fit it all.

Anyways it looks pretty damn awesome, nice effects !
I love that techy style. It'd be cool if you had like static, shaky screen, graphics to it to make it look like you saw it on an old semi-broken screen.

You'd be my hero if you had a 3D model spinning according to the Y axis (left to right) with the parts highlighted.

LOL i remember that! It was poorly coded?! I doubt that lol, but then again when i saw that i was 13 going "aww man that stuffs insane! how did he do that?! I'll stick with art"

I actually got my big break with kingdom hearts chronicles through joeys forums, Black Rose posted his script there for KHC1.1 and EVERYONE said it was the worst idea ever and horrible and not funny, i made it and it was really popular on NG and FlashPlayer (now animation arcade). Shows them who doubted! Mwaha!

Needs more bells and whistles on the body part I think, like blinking text or something, to stress the emergency factor of it all. But looking good so far.

I've been looking at this alot and now I wonder, am I even doing this right ? It doesn't feel like it :S

On a completely unrelated note: I have been checking out XNA game development this week. Except for some C# specific stuff it's not very different from the way I've worked with AS3 lately, so that feels good :)

It's a neat feeling to play something of your own with the Xbox controller (without having to map it to the keyboard or anything) :D The thumb sticks and triggers opens up some interesting possibilities.
