Hm maybe it's for programming chips in electrical circuits?

my guesses
RoR = Rotate Right
01001110 -> 00100111 -> 10010011
RoL = rotate left (reverse of above)
01001110 -> 10011100 -> 00111001
XOR = exclusive or:
0 XOR 0 = 0
0 XOR 1 = 1
1 XOR 0 = 1
1 XOR 1 = 0
Rsh = Right Shift
01001110 -> 00100111 -> 00010011
Lsh = Left Shift
01001110 -> 10011100 -> 00111000
NOT = inverse
0 -> 1
1 -> 0
01001110 -> 10110001
AND = and
1 AND 1 = 1
0 AND 1 = 0
1 AND 0 = 0
0 AND 0 = 0
OR = or
1 OR 1 = 1
1 OR 0 = 1
0 OR 1 = 1
0 OR 0 = 0
MOD = modulus (remainder)
31 MOD 10 = 1 (31/10 = 3 remainder 1)
8 MOD 3 = 2 (8/3 = 2 remainder 2)
You guys and your code...i dont even know why i'm posting this. i'm so tired i feel like im constantly squinting and its 4 30 am. goodnight.
this was wasteful.

I didn't get it at first, I didn't read the instructions and I was just told to "put your mouse here" twice so I did, then I was like ok I have to rotate it to make it resemble the picture, and was just twirling at random til it looked like it, then I discovered it's actually quite easy to do if you actually think about the picture you're recreating. Very cool idea, very well done.

I'm with virgin media, 20mbit line between 5 of us (4 of which are computing students i.e. heavy internet users). The only real problem we have is if someone is using too much bandwith, it can be hard to isolate.. sometimes someone isn't capping their uploads, it may be a virus/botnet, or maybe just the router being a bitch :X It's fine in general though.

The windows 7 programming calculator is very nice. Those functions are all bitwise operators.. you may know them better (or not) as |, &, %, ^, <<, >>, etc. They perform functions on binary data (as Glaiel showed very well). Bitwise operations are very fast.

My brain hurts. I joined the 11 Second Animation Club and just voted on over 200 entries for October. So many were so similar that I can hardly think straight right now...
On the plus side, I got a lot of great practice in telling good animation from bad.

You going to submit something for November? I've been meaning to put something up there, but my schoolwork gets in the way so much.

Yeah, I plan to try. Though after watching some of the awesome things they have for October, I think this will be more for my own practice than any hope of winning. :)
I'll work at it though! Maybe set a goal to one day get first place in one of these. Could be fun.
I hear you about the time thing, though. Work takes up most, then the Shades of Orange collab gets the rest, so I think I'll be fitting in a November entry for 11 Seconds sometime between 2AM and 5AM, lol.

Is it comparable to the US's fourth of july?

I guess so. But we're celebrating a foiled terrorist plot (which is my opinion is dumb), what does the 4th of July celebrate?
Also, the British don't celebrate any holiday as much as you yanks do. Christmas is the only holiday we really celebrate

America gaining it's independence from the Brits.
4th of July is synonymous with Independence Day.

I thought that was when jeff goldblum figured out how to trickle down the virus through the mothership?

Good luck mate! Last time I tried to finish one on time, it ended up being half done and 10 times worse than the rest, :P. My acting looked like an epileptic nightmare.

Yes it's dumb, but people just like to burn things and fireworks are cool so.. I'm assuming that is why it's survived so long.

Eh, New Years Eve (which is kinda 'part' of Christmas because it's in the Christmas season) is really well celebrated. St. Patricks day is also really well celebrated. We celebrate Halloween but not as much as the Americans, which is strange because it's a celtic thing, but still.

Well my goal for this one is going to be "Place in the top 50%" and if I don't then that will remain my goal for the December one! I just hope it goes okay since so many are 3D and I'll be doing sweet ol' 2D.
Do you still have the one you did? I'd love to see it, just for kicks. What month/year were you doing?
made it 6 days without drinking coffee... crappiest week ever I can't live like this.

Well done 2D can outdo most of 3D on there, as most 2D animators have already devoted enough time to realistic motion, wheras a lot of 3D animators just grab a pre-rig and move it erratically.
I gave a shot at the August 09 one. It was really bad. If I can find my old file I'll post it up here.

The August winner was probably the best of any I watched on the site. Absolutely unbelievable. I watched it like 30 times.
I've tried my hand at 3D animation and I just don't know, it isn't for me I think. Something about it just seems so technical, where as with 2D you don't have the same boundaries, you know? Plus I like how 2D looks more, for the most part. Pixar, perhaps, excluded. :)

The second I started playing, I thought "Wasn't this in the movie 'big'?" Then, I read the description. Great homage to a game that everyone my age wanted to play when that move came out.
