Exactly. Like this RPG I'm coding right now, if I ever were to decide to stick in MochiCoins or something, it would be like Oblivion's DLC. You know, a new town to explore. Maybe a massive dungeon with a bunch of new weapons and enemies, stuff like that. Even if I did that, I would still charge, most likely, under $7.00 for it, because the way I see it, it's a way to enhance a flash game, it's not Oblivion where they can get $20.00 for something.

To me, the only 'ethical' things you can sell in as an add on to a game are levels, weapons, badguys and a level editor. You shouldn't sell a main point of it, but an improvement of one that's expected.

I personally would never get out a credit card for a flash game upgrade, but that's because I'm incredibly autistic when it comes to credit card details, but I would definatly use my phone to spend a quid or two on something genuinely worth it, as it's less direct and no credit cards would be needed. If Portal: The Flash Version released an extra 25 levels for a pound, I would get out my phone to buy it on the spot, but this would only be true for a handful of awesome games.

What I do think should be added more on flash games are the 'buy me a coffee' type things that are on blogs, where the user just donates straight to the designer a pound or two. Not sure how effective they are, but they are probably worth adding.

ALSO: I'm making a full API game that's fast paced that I want to release as a proper game. Do you think it's a good idea to add sound, even though it will stop it being a 'true' API game (as there would be something in the library)? I'll kinda feel dirty if I do. I want the library to be clean. I considered hosting them on a server and loading them from there but Newgrounds threw loads of sandbox errors when I last made a game when I tried to do that.

I know I used 'API' in the wrong sense but for some reason everyone uses it in this way when talking about flash, and you know what I'm talking about.

Also: sorry for double post, but I came across an ASCII version of portal (its just a video at the moment - he hasn't released it yet). It looks amazing. Btw - he says it's open for beta but he since has made it private.

If you do make extra levels and what not. Please please make them balanced and not just completely half arsed. I bought swords and sandals 3 after playing the trial, the rest of the game is so ridiculous, but they knew you'd already bought it, so who cares if its not up to the standard of the rest of the game.

Id happily use my phone to buy stuff, id much rather do that then a credit card. And the kids love wasting there credit on crappy ring tones and what not, there's clearly money for taking from those clowns.

I think in multiplayer games that kind of revenue has the most potential, people love to show up with all the new fancy hats they have bought for their in game character. People love paying for dress up games as long as its disguised as something else.

I don't think has been mentioned but I think it's of great interest, especially since many of you are scientifically and mathematically minded. I'm sure you've heard about it too but I'm going to pretend I'm revealing it to you for the first time (it sounds really exciting when I say it like this).

Bill Gates purchased the rights to some lectures made by theoretical physicist (winner of the Nobel prize, the Einstein award, plus many others) Richard Feynman. They have been released on Microsofts "Research" web application which aims to link related articles, for example if you watch one of these lectures you will notice articles/information popping up on the right regarding what is being currently said.

It's a fantastic opportunity to learn about physics from someone who was a master of his field.

The only problem I had with it is that it uses Silverlight (of course), which means I had to launch Firefox (boo) though I assume most of you use Firefox anyway and will only dislike Silverlight because it's not Flash ;) That is another reason I dislike it - Silverlight was developed solely to give Microsoft their own Flash competitor, but nobody uses it except them. It's an unnecessary competitor. It works pretty well while watching the lectures, though the subtitling is a bit shaky, but you'd expect it to =p

'Tuva'.

No such thing. Competition forces other companies to re-evaluate thier own project to maintain thier natural monopolies. Silverlight, by nature of existing, helped convince Adobe to open up the SWF format to a more open format and gave them a kick to making a decent Flash port for Smartphones and Set Top Boxes. Maybe if Silverlight gains some actual strength rather than it's monolith-corporate backing, Adobe will fix some of Flash's most glaring flaws for version 11.

I downloaded all the Feynman lectures on physics already. Saying he was a master in his field would be an understatement, for some reason I love him more as a human being than a physicist, despite his brilliant achievements. It's great to see that people aren't forgetting him

By the way, I made the 'Create an Animated Sprite' preloader for Sprite TV 3!

I'm starting to get a bit nervous here, my programmer for the Power of Three has been aparently dead for over a month now, I've tried contacting him on MSN, PM and E-mail, but he just won't answer back, the frustration is horrifying, we were supposed to have the playable demo for this month but I haven't been able to see ANYTHING at all from him, he hasn't really posted on the BBS, reviewed or really done ANYTHING at all since the last time I spoke to him on MSN, which was, if I remember right, June 7th or something like that.

Were talking about the original japanese one right? or was there an american version made?

I beleive the graph counts pageviews, not where the info is being pulled from. 97% or whatever it is, of the pageviews are to NG.com, the only times the ungrounded is accessed i THINK would be when people upload flash?

(and i realize of course the flash's are all pulled from there when viewing, but it doesn't count as a pageview)
