Guys.. all I wanna say is that I don't want to be on Newgrounds EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
but what I mean is if there is a day when I'm bored or if the weather is amazingly annoying to go outside
then I'll be in my computer and I wanna make some doodles or animate something.

Newgrounds is NOT my life.. and it will never be my life. No matter what you'll say it is NOT.

My only goal on Newgrounds is to make AT LEAST ONE Flash Submission on Newgrounds.

That was quite an interesting read! I'm glad I'm a student and not someone who has to make a living out of advertising fees, if that's even possible. I see Flash as a hobby that happens to make me a nice amount of cash. Although I've quit my job recently to be able to spend more time on Flash so I guess it's my job as well now... Still as a student I don't have to make 10 games a year to live a comfy life.

W.I.P. Feedback Group
When I'm working on projects I think it's very valuable to show my progress to friends or family because I find it very easy to lose track of things when I'm developing entire projects on my own. Sometimes you spend way too much time on things no one will ever notice, while other times you completely miss things that should be included. It's hard to take a step back every now and then and take a look at your project from your average user's perspective. Friends and family are very useful for this, but most of the time they're not really part of my target audience, they aren't brutally honest and they know nothing about Flash.

I'm sure some of you suffer from the same thing every now and then, hence I thought it would be a nice idea to exchange some contact information so we can send out some W.I.P. projects every now and then, and hopefully get some feedback from each other. I don't want to make a post in the Lounge every time I've worked on my games (besides, we all know that the Lounge isn't the best place to get feedback). Neither do I want to share these things with everyone via my userpage. I don't trust everyone there with ideas and such that are still in early stages of development, but I think I do trust you Regs.

If anyone out there thinks this is a good idea: Maybe we can arrange this via MSN/AIM or maybe a mailing list or something like that?

Oh yeah: Maybe all of this sounds silly as I don't have a lot of MSN addresses and the like from you guys and you already do all of the above. In that case, I want in, add my msn: xeptic(at)gmail.com

Experienced people get on this site every day and post in this thread if they want to. If there's a new post in the thread, it will get frontpaged, so everyone knows and you, as a developer, will have privileges other people don't, and you can expose your games more, on there. Go become a member!

I really miss Newgrounds from when I was 11/12, back in '05 and '06. Probably the best time of my childhood, it was. Now Newgrounds just seems so meh... Is it Newgrounds that is changing, or me?

It's sad because it's true. Most of the flash games that I see that are successful (high score/views) are very stupid, there's no more necessity for artistical integrity or fresh ideas.

Also, I thought today about how the actual game programming is such a small part of game making. Usually I do most of the creative development myself for my games - I think of a concept, then develop the gameplay, create the characters, make levels, etc. And now I realise that I can do the actual code writing really fast, it's the design I'm not good at. If anyone has a game they want to make and they've already done all the creative work but need coding, give me a shout. I'd like to see how it turns out.

In other news, I'm kinda stuck on my flash project. I wrote pretty much all the code I'd need for it, and the game runs pretty fast and bug-free. But I don't have nearly enough content. There's no way I'm stopping now because I've already done a ton of work on it, and I've always been confident with this particular project. If you want to see it send me an email and I'll show you. I think I'm gonna need some help.

I agree, it was somehow different back with Inglor, Denvish and the likes. I've got nothing against the newer reg's (i'm not exactly an oldie), but the aptmosphere was different back then, with random songs to users and denvish day and inglor day etc :(.

Hm, lately I've been really wanting to get back into game developing, after not doing anything for almost a year. Is there possibly any artist out there who wants to casually work on a very small, simple game? Nothing serious really, I just want to do something to get me back into the groove.
