Yeah, NG is waaaay to PG-13 now. I remember when NG was all about things like this and this.

She kinda was, though she was in Logan's Run, which was certainly a bit bigger in the UK. It's sad she had the misfortune of dying on the same day as the friggin' "king of pop" though. Grieving over. Sorry baby. People are so ADD.

Checked out Transformers 2 to cheer myself up. Wish it did. What a pile of hackneyed, trite, self-indulgent cliché diarrhea. Michael Bay should be hanged. The graphics were pretty good. I just gotta ask one question:

"Why the fuck are there human beings in theis movie? They offer nothing. Well, Megan Fox is a little hottie, but still...robots beating the hell out of each other is really all I need from that franchise. Grrr.

Exactly. Tom set up the site to take the piss out celebrities, pretending to kill them, and filling everything with 'bad-taste' humour. If people don't like it, why are they even here?

Is anyone else getting tired of the header? I know it's cool and all for the art portal release but something about it is getting annoying to me.

Sorry to irrelevance to the discussion in any way.

The Dirty Sanchez Britney Spears thing was one of the first animations I saw on Newgrounds.
I was like nine when I watched it and I laughed unbelievably hard.

Ugh. Im sick of these jackson jokes already. Har har he was a peado and now hes dead what fun. They stopped being funny after the first... 2. Dont get me wrong in principle I have nothing against them, but they are all just repetitive and the same now.

I did think that punch out parody of tysons daughter was a bit harsh though, but it did make me laugh

I agree with toast on working best in the middle of the night. I get like 90% of my stuff done when it feels like im about to fall asleep. I came up with a theory that its because my brain can only really focus on one thing, because its tired, and therefore it doesnt get distracted. It gets to the point where I dont go to bed because I know in the morning I wont be able to work on whatever it is.
When I eventually get round to a proper job, Im gonna go nightshift for this.

And gust what you said, about not going out for weeks at a time, thats just sad man.

No it's not. Some people can't stand being alone for a few hours, others can't stand being with people for too long. Just because you're part of the first group doesn't make it sad to not go out. Sometimes during the holidays I pretty much stay at home for 10 days or so, and I don't feel sad or lonely. It's just about perspective. Maybe for me it's really sad to waste 8 hours on school every day when you could be doing useful things at home.

I do, however, think that Gust's making a mistake. My brother stopped going to uni on his first year and now he just lives with his grandparents (where he had to stay when he was studying) and he doesn't really see anyone. Now I'm sure Mr. Gustav is a very smart man and maybe can get stuff done, but I think it would be much better to just finish the last year / 2 years of high school and then go off to an excellent uni where he can actually learn. Either way, it's interesting to see what's gonna end up happening to him. :p

I... I ... I think i actually agree with everything you said... i actually like working late at night cause theres no distractions, everyones asleep, theres nothing on tv, no phone ringing, etc.

I feel kinda smothered when i goto meetups, i kinda value being by myself, strange as it sounds. I wouldnt change a thing about em but theres just some instances where i just want to sit by myself and just recharge. Im not a social being by nature, so i actually do get drained from talking to people. I know that some are super smooth and can talk your ear off for hours and not break a sweat. I'm like good in spurts. Also i havent posted here in a long time i almost feel like spamburger

I completely agree :P I'm not saying anything, if people find them funny then saying "ok this is getting old" isn't gonna change anything, I'll just tolerate the terrible jokes :P

I agree. Though I also agree with Toasts comment, about peoples personalities and stuff. I'm also very happy being by myself (surprise surprise!) but I talk to my family a lot and even though I talk to them if I don't go out with friends for a few days then it kinda pisses me off. I talk a lot, when I'm with my friends, so I guess I'm a mix of both personalities.

Like Gust was saying...I don't get out much. I live in a place where "away from people" is the norm. That's why we moved here. I would very much like to live on some "supervillain island stronghold". I subscribe to the notion that culture has failed...because it fucking has. Hmmmph. :3

It better reinvent itself double plus quick.

I agree with everything you just said. Minus all the stuff about the meet-ups because I have never been to one.

Its kinda sad actually, like I'd rather sit at home and be bored by myself than hang out with my friends sometimes. I don't know why but I kinda like being alone.

If anyone has the short time to program a game over screen for me PM - it be appreciated.

Also honey and peanut butter sandwhiches are an odd thing. The honey dripps out if ya dont keep 'em in the fridge for a bit. Furthermore I belive the honey makes the peanut butter less sticky and easier to devour.

You can be outside and alone, I do think its sad to stay in for that long, theres only so much you can experience in your room, and its not a lot. Theres a hell of a lot more to life then you can enjoy in your house, and I think if you stay inside all the time its a sad and wasted life. But hell I dont want to get personal, its your life.

At 6/26/09 09:02 PM, Zyphonee wrote: Too goddamn fucking soon.

Its stuff like that which encourage these jokes. Its like when people say OH NO THAT ART IS TOO CONTROVERSIAL WE SHOULD BAN IT and then because of the infamy they create more people will go and see it. If people stopped saying 'too soon' then people wouldn't think its so funny. 90% of comedy is in timing anyway, so what do you expect people to do? Wait a year and then tell it? How does that make it any different?

Contrary to popular belief, Jacko's not being cremated or buried. Nope. They're gonna recycle him into carrier bags so he can remain white, plastic and harmful to children.

I find that the amount of fun I'm having in the real world is inversely proportionate to the amount of time I spend at my computer working on flash, regardless of the time.

Someone needed to state the obvious.

being with people is nice oh boy
being alone with not much to do is quite frustrating for me and it happens way too often.
I mean I could do soemthing like animating in that time but I just feel shit and can't be bothered.

I used to be someone who spent a lot of time alone and I can't really think of doing that now. Me and my friends from school set up a teamspeak server, and whenever we're using our computers we use that to communicate and to find out when we can actually hang out or play some games together. About 5 days of the week I leave the house and do something for an hour or more now that I have a car, and although being around people is exhausting I consider it much better then spending time alone. Even I'm scripting stuff, it helps to be able to talk through the problem with some people so I don't get to frustrated at things.

Just depends if your an introvert or an extrovert.

There's something of great value in solitude. It's hard to describe really--it goes beyond peace. I wonder though if it's a fact that most programmers/animators appreciate being by themselves.
