Well i use flash CS3 now
and i downloaded a sound but when i start my flash
i almost dont hear anything whats the prob?

You need to import it to the library, go to the frame in which the sound starts, click it, go to properties and in the box that says Sound, select the desired music or whatever.

And the reg lounge is basically for general discussion, you should probably make a thread if you wanna ask a specific question ;)

Yep.

All my posts since about 2 pages are spam or worthless posts.

Patu if you get the latest firefox it has a spellchecker built in, you should probably try that.

My older posts are funny, on my 6th ever post I was already backseat modding :P But mainly my posts are just an embarrassment. Although I cam upon some very harsh words from a certain GusttheASguy which have shaped my opinion on how people should be helped in the flash forum.

i agree, gusttheASguy is a little harsh at times.

also, this girl in my japanese class knows how to make buttons in AS2. i show her this thing magical-zorse helped me do and tell her it's pretty complicated AS, so she probly won't understand it.

she freaks out, saying that she's good at AS cuz our teacher taught us AS last year (he taught us buttons and stop();) and that i dont know her and that she probly could do that kind of thing.

i laughed.

He was harsh, but its the exact approach I take on helping people in the flash forum. Had he of given me code, Id of been back for every single problem, and wouldn't of known how to code for shit. Being an asshole is the nicest thing you can do.

Nah, Being an asshole is just a way of saying "I'm better than you", and although it may be true, isn't going to help much. People don't learn from people they think are dicks. You can help people out as much as possible, but adding a few lines of offense in the mix, is just going to piss people off.

lol, I love the guy who pops up at the end:

Draw yourself a pick up item such as a coin and put this code in it
It'll make it pickable

onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (this.hitTest(_root.character)) {
_root.score.text ++
unloadMovie(this);
}
}

It'll make it pickable

Just a way of making something +1 to your score then remove the item from the stage.

Yeah, so I was riding my bike home from my friends house a few minutes ago, a guy in his 40's in a van stops me and says,

"Hey, do you have a cell phone?" I freeze, saying, "Yeah...?"

I live in a pretty populated area, getting great reception on my phone all the time. He continues,

"I don't have any reception and I need to call this kid... To get him to work..."

I didn't know how long I stayed there just watching, maybe 10 seconds, lol.

"No, I kinda gotta get home really soon, it's getting dark..."
"Oh, ok." He drives away.

Seriously? If you don't have any reception, don't stop in the middle of the road asking a 14 year old to come up to your van and give you a phone. Chances are, they don't have reception, too. Just go to another area a few hundred feet away, maybe a mile!

I'm not saying he was a predator or anything, but if he was, he was a poor one at best.

Flash Jobs

I really need some money. My very good talent is graphics design, and guitar of course. I really need a job, and i think a job in the Graphic Arts would be really awesome. Is there any places that hire graphic designers for websites or anything?

I was going home on friday, when I stopped at this church to ride my scooter for a while, when these seventh graders I know come by and start doing that prank where you pretend to be pulling a rope across the street in order to make cars stop. So I'm watching them for about five minutes when my friend, alex, walks by them and he's limping because he hurt his foot, and the sevies are giving him a hard time, so I go over and tell them not to hassle him and we walk up to the church and hang out for another five minutes, watching the sevies do their trick. Then it's time for alex to go and he starts walking home, and all of the seventh graders are gone, except one that's walking away from alex and yelling mean stuff at him. So there's this seventh grader, mouthing off to a high schooler, and alex drops his bag and starts walking over to the sevie, saying that he's gonna beat him up. As soon as the seventh grader hears this, he gets all scared, saying he was just messing around. He's asking me to help him by stopping alex from beating him up. So when alex gets over there, he starts laughing, and everyone (except for the seventh grader) starts laughing. We tell him that alex was just joking too, and wasn't gonna beat him up. So the kid walks home all scared. It was funny, but we felt bad about it afterward. oh well.
Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I feel kinda high. (I'm not though)

I'd just pick up the little brat and throw him over the horizon.

I've notice in the area I live right now, the shit disturbers are getting younger and younger.
Not in a good way, like 14 year olds thinking they can talk trash to 18+.

They don't seem to realize we tower over them and if we want to, we'll just run them over with our cars.

Of course, it's always just talk with them, once you show any sign of having enough of their shit they pretty much run away.

I can't wait to move out of this empty town, there's nothing to do.

Women would be the target to be software engineer's. They will only work for one week a month, but the overall product would be amazing with only a week's pay per month.
