I've seen things that lower the power of the back light if there's a lot of darkness on the screen and puts it higher up when theres a lot of lighter stuff, but it looks really bad when its half and half.

What if...

April's pregnancy and subsequent baby birth were all an elaborate April Fools joke. There are no pictures of the pregnant mother and her name IS April. Plus, the timing of the birth is mighty convenient...

Think about it.

Some Game Ideas..
So I need some ideas. I have this small game (use arrow keys to move, jump on bombs to jump, go through hoops). However, the feels rather empty right now and I have no idea what to do with it.. halp D:

Board games
Paper is much more expensive. Multiply 300g per set with millions of users, how many trees is that? Plus fuel for transportation.
Tree huggers should promote electronics. :p

Black
Black sites are awesome. There should be more. Blackle is stupid, but I'd prefer it.

I think some phone screens only require energy to change pixels. At least, if you punched out one of those old Siemens phones, the image remained.

I actually do that. I spend my physics and chemistry lessons building board games out of paper. I made a nice set of chess, now I'm onto a game like Heroes of might and magic. I use my calculator to determine the enemy's moves.

I just bought Adobe Flash CS4 upgrade for my Web Premium CS3. Apparently you CAN'T just upgrade one program, they treat the entire Web Premium as one product. Therefore you must upgrade all of Web Premium. Luckily they'll give me a refund, but it was annoying to have to call Adobe to find out. They need to say, "oh hey, Flash CS3 in the bundle is NOT Flash CS3, it's just a chunk".

That sucks balls but from a marketing perspective it's a good way to rob your customers of money, seeing as a lot will just accept it and pay the full amount to upgrade everything seeing as they are getting something new.. but the difference between CS3->CS4 just isn't much of a difference. Fireworks & Dreamweaver 8 are fine still =D

Flash CS4 completely passed me by. What's actually new in it? The only notable things I've heard of are an actual vector class (which is cool), and skeleton tools (which could just pave the way for a swarm of hollow, gimmicky ragdoll stuff).

3d animation, new tweening and Pixel Bender. And of course double memory requirements as with each iteration of Flash. :p

I like it, the 3d stuff could be a bit more in-depth, but there are plenty of other libraries around to do that stuff. It's good for quick effects, which is what most people will need.

The layout is much better, the bone tool (which i've not used) could be useful for animation. I'd say if you've got cs3 stick with it, if you're still using 8, it's a good upgrade.

As far as CS4 and programming is concerned, the best feature is a new object called Vector. It's an Array but it only allows for one type of object (for example, Vector.<uint> or Vector.<String>). We found it runs at minimum twice as fast for computations than an Array.

3d stuff is actually pretty nice. It's nice to actually be able to do a perspective tilt (think Star Wars intro).

Best feature in CS4 though is some new features in the interface, most importantly the Library search feature that means you can stop hunting through multiple folders and such for your symbols. Also, multiple select in the library means I can stop clicking all 100 linked movieclips to "export in first frame" and do it just once now.

Overall, it's probably worth updating... maybe. I think for many it'll be worth the $200 but for others it'll be not up their alley. We mostly needed the Flash 10 for the Vector object and a few other things. But of course, if you are Flexy you can do that already... I think.

Pretty nifty, but it doesn't sound like it's worth £130 for.

Really, some of the 3d stuff has had some bad reviews, like it's a bit too simple.

Cuts out a lot of time by the sound of it.
Stuff like that always helps.

Nah, I'll stick with CS3 for now.

Reading Mania

Just got tickets :D :D lineup not as good as last year but Bloc Party, Jamie T and Gallows being there has made me happy. Arctic Monkeys are good but it's embarrassing to like them :\ Rumours of Daft Punk but I don't believe it. That'd be too good.

Chickens

Also: I got chickens. 3 of them to be precise, because my old ones died a while ago. Marmaduke, Rasputin and The Disabled One (it has a limp). They're all happy at the end of my garden. Pix if I can be bothered / if I ever take any. (my old ones with me on the right looking like a fag and my brother in the background).

Bloc Party sounds pretty terrible live (or at least it sounds like it on YouTube). Like the music is alright but the black dudes voice sounds bad live.
