They're updating the medals feature on the fly.

So this just means it's being worked on right now on the website.
Not 100% sure why its not on some staging server before but oh well.
I can stand to not look at my user page for a little while :D

With a decent PC from the sold 4 PC's, and if you reallllyyy wanted Mac - you could do this xD

It'd be pretty shit, but still possible.

PearPC, aside from that it's slow and actually illegal to run OSX like that, would still have to go through the broken Windows network config, wouldn't it.

But obviously it's Glaiel's fault that we're talking about this.

I like how XKCD has a 'religious wars' section for 'those' arguments. :p

I believe you're only allowed to run Mac OS X on Apple hardware, could be mistaken though.

See 'Apple-labeled'. An interesting term; maybe you can just put an Apple sticker on your computer?

Well, for one thing, haXe solves things Flash doesn't, and it's free. Though it doesn't come with a nicer font renderer which seems is everything that matters to you people. ;D

Appelehs

I'm thinking of buying a mac book, i've always dreaded the idea of having one, but i want to develop for the ipod touch, and if i get one i get a free copy of cs4 suite for mac thanks to my graphics course. If i get one i'd definitely dual boot it with linux and windows, so its a laptop for all seasons.

Anyone got any ideas on which mac is best :S?

Macbook Pro's give me a boner. So yeah...

In all seriousness, if you want an Apple laptop and you need some performance I would probably go far a 15 inch MBP. 17 inch is too large if you're on the move (imo), and you probably have an extra monitor at home already so you don't really need the extra inches. Besides, it's bloody expensive. The normal Macbooks have a 13 inch screen which is a bit too small I think, especially when you're working with programs with a lot of windows, like Flash, and probably the iPhone SDK as well.

I thought 13 inch was going to be too small (it hurt me D: ). But actually its quite good. The resolution is decent and I can work in Flash without a problem. You can even use the terminal to scale the resolution even smaler if you want. Its a great laptop, unfortunately i bought my Macbook like 2 weeks before they released the newer ones.

When are they letting other people put medals in their games like you guys did?

Unknown, they're still working out lots of kinks to make it public-friendly.

I have a level class with 4 frames in it.

When each frame is loaded, it adds a number of objects to an array. These objects are all on the stage with instance names.

So for example if im on the 2nd frame it will add all of the objects on the stage on frame 2 to the array.

The only problem is it doesnt. It works for the first frame but none of the others. Is there difficulty accessing instances of objects past the first frame of a movieclip in flash?

If I trace the array on level 1 all the objects display properly, eg [object sky_mc]. However on level 2 i will just get a load of commas and then any objects that were also in frame 1, eg " , , , [object sky_mc].

Meh im not really a coder and probably didnt do myself any favours by explainingmy problem so poorly.... any help? :)

I was out of town with no internet so if anyone PMed me ill get to it soon if not already. Anyway BoM already gave most of the info of the achievements. Its on its test run and i think having them test it live is exciting and a good way to gauge the level of interest and possible loopholes before opening the floodgates.. some info you just cant get by having a staging server.. so instead of bitching just see it as an opportunity to be a beta tester for the site. You can send your observations / bugs to psychgoldfish.

The privacy of the achievements would be a nice feature, im sure that its been considered and you will eventually be able to hide it if you arent a stat whore type.. or if you dont want people to know you have unlocked the penis pincher achievement.
