Never totally abandon your roots. You sound smug in how you word things sometimes. Theres almost a beauty to flash even with its limitations and its ugliness. I cant speak for programmers obviously but i still find challenge and intruige in flash even after almost 10 years of it.. We love youuuuuu.
In terms of animation I love flash's vector graphics, don't get me wrong. However, there's a lot of times where I've had to make sacrifices or do unnecessary amounts of work to get games done in it. Stuff like Closure, I had a lot more planned for that but it just wasn't feasible to do in flash. Literally impossible. I tried making the level scroll a bit, lags like fuck. Didn't even bother to try and add physics or pushing boxes into it, that's much more than flash can handle when most of its resources are taken up by doing the graphics filter.
It wouldn't be so bad if they would actually use the GPU for shaders (and polygons), but their complete lack of gpu support just means I can't do everything I want to do.
I'll never totally abandon flash. There's a lot of stuff its much more suited for than other languages. Plus I mean, look how many times I've expressed interest in abandoning it, and yet I'm still using it. We have a love-hate relationship.
