i can understand being a vegitarian because a person thinks it's healthier (which isn't correct), but there are some really stupid reasons out there. some say they don't think it's right to eat fellow creatures. that's crap because they obviously don't feel the same about us.

what are some other opinions on this?

There was a news story in some small newspaper about a dachshund that mauled a baby within an inch of its life. That's sad. We need to start cooking up the animals.

There are health reasons to be a vegetarian, but anyone who does it for ethical issues is a fool. Millions of rabbits and other animals are killed by Soybean harvesters and other farming equipment. Not to mention how billions of insects are killed from pesticides on farms. They may say "well it's not intentional," so does that make it NOT "animal murder" to quote their words? According to them, no animals should die, however, they support animal slaughter even if they don't eat the dead animals, which is worse, because then they died for nothing. Cows are raised specifically to be eaten, hunters dont go out and capture the wild cows from the hillside or whatever Peta would have you believe.

Vegetarians are fools, for the most part.

A dachshund nearly killing a baby? That's just so hard to imagine... I just can't help laughing trying to imagine it.

But anyway, eating meat is natural and perfectly healthy. It may be a good idea to not eat as much meat, but maybe not necessarily to cut it out of your diet entirely. Don't let anyone tell you that eating meat is unhealthy.

Some people have digestive issues with red meat, it can also be pretty fatty. Not a good idea for people with high blood pressure to eat a lot of meat, for their sake though, not the animals'. Eating meat IS perfectly natural, as humans are predators, as shown by the placement of the eyes.

Now if you get too scientific with them, they're just going to call you a loser. The placement of teeth and the types of teeth we have (ripping and tearing as well as grinding) show that we've been built to eat both types of food.

Ok, i'm a vegetarian (pretty obvious i guess), and i'll tell you just why:

-Indeed, it is healthier
-All the food we produce to feat the livestock we can give to poor country's too. Calculation have proven that if everyone turns veggie, there would be no third world.
-It's murder to eat meat. No matter how you put or twist or turn it, it's still fucking murder to kill an animal who hasn't done ANYTHING to you.
-It's simply disgusting how we treat our animals. We put them in tiny barns we're they can barely move, we fill them up with hormones and all that shit, and at the end of such a shitty live we cut them open and let them bleed to death (not allways, but for some sorts of meat they really let them bleed to death).
-Sure it might not help very much if you as a individual turn veggie, but it's good for you consience. That's what i'm doing it for. So that when i go to heaven (or whatever) i can say i've never killed someone in cold blood.

There's alot of hormone treatment with chicken and cow and all that, I'd rather not put that shit in my body. True they're in alot of veggies now days as well (mainly pesticides and shit) but if you buy organic produce then it's pretty much as close to growing your own as you can get in the city. And Soy foods like Tofu and Produce give you alot of Protein as well, if you eat enough greens (and maybe take a suppliment a day) you also get all the iron you need too.
So the only reason people don't go veggie seems to be they just love meat.

I love eating meat, but the problem I see with it (which has already been pointed out earlier) is that most of it is pumped full of hormones - animal steroids. You should go with Ted Nugent's advice: Kill it and grill it.

Some types of meat I won't touch though, like hot dogs and chicken nuggets. To make those, they debone the animal and then shove everything that's left after the choice cuts are gone through a wire screen. The slurry that comes out on the other end is formed into a edible-looking shape and served. Yum.

no, it isn't. our systems were designed to function best with a diet that includes meat.

if we did that, the food animal number would go down dramatically. since these creatures have no purpose other than food and have been thouroughly domesticated, they would serve as pets or working animals nor would they be able to fend for themselves in the wild. with your meat is murder stance, i don't think you'd appreciate that either.

in pig production, the pigs are zapped unconsious, hung upside down, and bled from their neck. they know none of this, and are completely oblivious to it. show me evidence of bleeding a live, consious animal and you might have something.
