Did that on the PC version, pissed me off so bad. And I cheated and killed an important character by accident.

It was changed for multi-platform becuase the PS3 has sold so little consoles.
Unless Sony can push those sales up in time, they're screwed.

how can they counter that? its impossible. if MGS4 isnt exclusive PS3 will surely fail. they really need to push money and try to get more exclusives. if they could get Army of Two, Assassin's Creed, and GTA IV to be exclusives the PS3 will launch off selves and they make money so they buy more exclusives and it goes around again. but we all know that this wil happen hell freezes over.

yeh its bit scarey... but im pretty Sure Resident Evil 5 is exclusive.. although im not sure how into the resident evil games you guys are..

and your right if they mad GTA IV exclusive they would fuck everyone in the ass... even if its just exclusive for the 1st 6months. that would be really good

Nope, it's been confirmed for the 360.

The only good exclusives I can see on the PS3s agenda are Heavenly Sword, Lair and a small few others.

As far as PS3 games go, along with the ones that were listed above, you have Warhawk, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Haze (timed), and Unreal Tournaument 3 (timed). Those, along with Heavenly Sword and Lair, will all come out during the Holiday season. Plus, you have all the games that they share with the 360. The 360's big games are Mass Effect, Bioshock (shared with PC), and Halo 3. a lot of people might give the edge here to the 360. I personally like the PS3's lineup better.

What I think Sony has done well, however, is also letting us know about games coming after the Holiday season. Infamous, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, and MGS4 are all set to release before the end of March. I'm not quite sure what the 360's lineup will look like in that time frame. They focused more just on the holiday season so maybe we'll find out more at TGS or Leipzig. Sony has also said, however, that Leipzig was where they were going to show their "fireworks." Maybe they're just hyping it up, maybe not. Hopefully FFXIII stays exclusive. If it does, lots of people will buy the system. God of War 3 will be another good system seller, whenever it decides to come out.

I think Sony is going to do quite well in the coming year and thereafter. You're seeing in some of the games coming out in the near-future that developers are starting to tap into the PS3's massive capabilities.

I'm also pretty sure that source saying MGS4 is coming to the wii and 360 is false. The date is May 30th, almost a month old and no word has come from a more reputable source (ign, gamespot, g4, joystiq, etc.) or E3, for that matter. It may still come to the 360 (more likely a timed exclusive if anything) but it's a long way from confirmation.

Anyways, just hang tight and the PS3 will be fine.

It's not like there isn't a three year warranty. And if someone is dumb enough to MOVE their console WHILE it's ON then they don't deserve to have a 360.
That gives the disc a laser burn.

Fair enough, but I would find it rather annoying to have to send in my console to get it repaired, especially if it happened more than once. It's better than nothing at all, but it would be even better if the console didn't die in the first place.

I forgot about Uncharted which is surprising since it's the holiday game I'm most intrigued by. I didn't mention multi-platform games like Assassin's Creed and Blacksite and GTA4 because I didn't see the point in mentioning games coming out for both consoles at the same time since I was comparing the lineups. Even with the 4 other exclusives you mentioned, I still prefer the PS3 lineup. Two Worlds is the only game of the four that I would have thought about buying.

I am interested to see how they will intergrate the six-axis motion capture tech into MGS4. Maybe tilting left and right to peek round corners. Anyhow it will be good and supposedly different from the other games in the series.

Nielsen Survey: PS2 Still A Dominating Force

View Large ImageHow dominant was the PS2? Well, according to the latest Nielsen survey, it wasn't only dominant the last generation, but it continues to be dominant into this new generation. The survey ("Gameplay Metrics") showed that 68 million people played video games on a home console in June alone; the sample included over 12,000 households and 33,000 total individuals. But more importantly, it also showed that 42% of the game usage was done on the PS2.

Launched back in October of 2000, Sony's PlayStation 2 sprinted out to an early lead - due in large part to the full-year jump on the competition - and never looked back. They ended up selling about 111 million PS2s in less than seven years, and as it turns out, everyone still loves the system. That 42% represented a huge discrepancy, as the original Xbox fell into a distant second at 17% and this generation's Xbox 360 came in third at 8%. Obviously, last generation's dominance probably won't be repeated by the PS3, but the PS2's amazing longevity is clearly evident, here.

Perhaps even more clear is the reluctance of casual gamers to embrace a new - and pricier - generation. The PS3's price drop to $499 is only temporary, the 360 still costs $399, and only the Wii is similar to a last-gen system price tag at $249. Furthermore, while the 360 has been available for nearly 20 months, the PS3 has only been around for 8, and that discrepancy is evident in the numbers below. As time goes on, though, prices will drop and there will be more software to convince the holdouts to move into the next generation. The only question is, in which direction will they move...?

Well i went out and rented the new Sonic game and it is actually pretty good. But i havent really got that far in it yet but i think Silver is my favorite character on there him and Knuckles.

Meh, I didn't like that sonic. All Sonic games are dead to me, 2D FTW. Also we don't want new character in a one time good game.

Man! I FINALLY completed Final Fantasy IX again. I started the save AGES ago and only just got around to finishing it lately. Now to finish off FF VII again.
