anyway, I have noticed this strange fad in Sony games to make sequels not as good as originals tak for instanceTomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil... Notice that all those games are great and their sequels too. But there hasn't been any difference between thm and there sequels exept for some plot. While the originals were innovting in Characters, Graphics and Concept. So it was naturally more fun to play the originals than the sequels.

Oh yeah it's well known that sequels usually screw up. This stays true to more recent games too. Look at Guitar Hero 2. It's far from crap but the songs are less varied and there isn't much innovation. Only new material like songs and characters.
A lot of developers don't try to add new features into their follow-ups but people still buy the sequelsbecause they don't know shit about gaming, they are loaded and want to carry on with the story.

Trust me! It's the same for everything! Films, music, games, TV shows, etc.
It happens over and over again and there's nothing much that can be done.
Some examples: Simpsons (TV show), Scary Movie (films), any previously mentioned games, Metallica (music).

It sucks.

I have to say, anyone giving shit or rubbish about the PS3 is wrong. All PS2 games I have tried have worked, and all the games are awesome. The online is great and everyone is freindly, if someone says otherwise then they have obviously not played the console much.
