Just because he's right doesn't mean he's an asshole. The truth hurts, doesn't it?

WTF? What a horrible argument! National traditions? Are you fucking stupid? It's illegal because of the same people who made alcohol illegal in the early 1900's. That's right, Bible Thumpers. Come yea all! Protect me from myself and the wiles of intoxication and Satan! Holy shit prople.

How about any number of the offsite sources from Erowid.org? Hell, while you're at it, read the stuff ON Erowid! It's amazing what 2 seconds of searching for documentation can turn up. What a twit.

Marijuana caused no deaths, but 700,000 arrests a year.
Cigarettes are legal
Man, I hate these "Marijuana has caused 0 deaths" research projects. Doesn't anybody think that if somebody gets lung cancer from marijuana that marijuana would be blamed instead of "Big Meanie-Head Tobacco"? Doubtful, is it not? And what of people who smoke both regularly?
Who gets the tally then?
I seriously doubt, that in all of the research, that there hasn't been ONE (1) single friggin' marijuana-related death that doesn't involve shooting your friend because your parents deserve to have their faces smashed in with a large blunt object for leaving a loaded gun just lying around.
The effects of Marijuana use, courtesy of the NIDA (National Institute for Drug Abuse):
Short Term-
problems with memory and learning;
distorted perception (sights, sounds, time, touch);
trouble with thinking and problem-solving;
loss of coordination; and
increased heart rate.
(Basically, this is the "high" most users seek, because let's face it, if you can't think straight, you can't think about too much bad shit happening, right?)
Long Term Usage:
Cancer-
Regular marijuana use causes cancer. It is known that marijuana contains some of the same, and sometimes even more, of the cancer-causing chemicals found in tobacco smoke. Studies show that someone who smokes five joints per day may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a full pack of cigarettes every day.
Lungs and airways-
People who smoke marijuana often develop the same kinds of breathing problems that cigarette smokers have: coughing and wheezing. They tend to have more chest colds than nonusers. They are also at greater risk of getting lung infections like pneumonia.
Immune system-
THC increases the risk of developing infections by inhibiting normal disease-preventing reactions.
Now, that being said, I am actually for the legalization of marijuana on many levels. I myself do not smoke weed, but I believe it should be legalized for other reasons.
People are going to smoke it anyway. As far as drug users are concerned, marijuana users are relatively harmless, and the addiction one suffers from marijuana use is almost exclusively psychological.
Legalizing it would reduce the strain put on prisons, and bureaucratic police forces everywhere.
The government could actually put a tax on the stuff, and make more money.
Yes, marijuana is what people consider a "gateway" drug, but most pot users don't move on to bigger, better drugs. They just buy better weed.
So, I hope this post was informative, and I have shown some people all the facts.
Thank You.

Hmmm. Now that I think of it. Maybe it SHOULD be legal, after all, sooner or later every stupid person who uses it is gonna die right? So really it's just survival of the fittest! People who smoke mary-jane are too stupid or unfit to survive! the tree of life prunes itself i guess.

lol - tradition? Weed has a longer history with mankind than any other plant (conveinitently erased from history) - like the native indian traditions of exchanging a peace pipe instead of continuing tribal wars. Weed was evolved by early humans into what it is today - so weed is for humans whats flowers are to bumble bees - one wouldn't exist without the other.
1st point is; YOU DON'T HAVE TO SMOKE WEED to enjoy it's pleasant effects - so lung cancer debate is a fake agrument - you might get high on petrol fumes, but they don't ban it's sale.
2nd point is; Marijuana is illegal because hemp (the non-drug version) is such a wonderfully useful plant that compeating industrial processed materials would vanish, and so too all the tax and political kickbacks.
3rd point is; as was just posted before - it's a totally victimless crime to have dope in your own home, and now as they ban tobacco and alcohol in ALL public places they are marginalizing yet another large percentage of the public in the name of their righteous laws. There's bound to be a flood of tourist dollars for all or any countries that develop liberalized laws based on decent self-restraint and public awareness, NOT PH33R TACTICS and misinformation.

The thing that pisses me off about this commercials is that they are more suiting as commercials against alcohol than marijuana. Ya people get raped on alcohol, people run over kids on bikes on alcohol, but not when ur just stoned. I know people who've been raped, and every time they've been damn wasted, nothing like that has ever happened stoned. And of the 100 or so potheads I know, not one has ever gotten into a car crash while stoned, but they have while wasted.

And by the way, even if it causes cancer, or whatever negative effects you want to attribute to it, its still my body and I can put whatever the hell I want into it. You can make criminal offences commited while on drugs more serious if you want to, but there's a shit load of peaceful use out there. I've done, many many many many many many drugs. No drug makes you as stupid and out of control while you are on it as alcohol. You have a clearer head on acid then you do on alcohol. If you don't believe me, then try for yourself, and if you dont wan't to, then you have nothing to fucking say. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs, mentally and physically. Alcohol is a giant problem compared to pot. If we can put that poison in our body we should be allowed to put others in it.

Oh. Idiot. Shoulda just stuck in the text like this..
Monique: Yo. Why the long face, Seymour?
Seymour: I stockpiled on the weapons of DIVINE RETRIBUTION but then my enemy went into hiding.
Seymour: Now I'm just left with a MILITARY SURPLUS and the burden of JUSTIFYING its existence.
Monique: Don't look at me pal.
Seymour: Do you by any chance practise WITCH-CRAFT?
