Extinction here we come 2003-03-13 20:56:41 Reply

It seems everywhere I go these days, all I see is hatred, violence, cruelty, anger, and depression. I'm hoping that since I'm only in high school, that this is a phase that my peers will grow out of sometime soon and realize how stupid they were with their schoolyard politics. But I think that hoping for that is rather naive, because every time I turn on the TV, or the radio, or the computer, or open a newspaper, what is peering out at me except fear, hatred, racism, terror, death, and general unhappiness. Jesus was wrong when he said the meek shall inherit the earth, because they wont. So far its been the ignorant, the hateful, the intolerant, the brutal, the childish, the cruel who have inherited the earth, all meek gets you is another ass kicking, or called a faggot.

Humans prey on one another, not for food... yet. But the structure of life is this, society is built in steps, terraced if you will, and those who are higher on the terrace than someone else, will do everything in their power to run those they perceive to be lesser than them, into the ground. If you arent exactly like everyone else, you are abused and made fun of until you hate yourself and everyone else. This is how the columbine shootings were set in motion. Now not that I'm some redneck, goth who runs around in a trenchcoat, cos I think thats too much, but I do try to hide quite a few things about me so I wont get the shit kicked out of me by the people higher than me in the social order. I hate even some of my best friends for how they treat people who are labeled loser because maybe their too heavy, or their glasses are too thick, or they're too smart, or not attractive enough. We're like a pack of dogs, a wild one you might see running around some rural town, abandoned or runaways, and the bigger, faster, tougher dogs will look fine, but the little, scruffier dogs have scars and holes in their ears and are afraid of their own shadows, thats what we are, a pack of wild dogs. And I think thats why we sometimes go to war, to get the feeling that maybe, just maybe there's someone out there who's a worse person that we are, and that maybe if we kill them, then the world will be cleansed and hate will stop, and violence will stop, and racism and intollerance will stop. But I think that no matter how many innocent, or evil as the case may be, people we kill, it still wont be enough to fix us, and let us get along. There will be no such thing as world peace until we've all died in a nuclear holocaust, or from global warming (if what the scientists say is true) and all that is alive is insects and bacteria, then we will have world peace, because theres no one to call anyone else a faggot, or hate them because their skin is a different color, or they call their god a different name. So lets treat this as we would putting down a rabid dog, find a solution thats quick and painless. Because once there is no such thing as man, there will be no more violence on earth.

A very good post. I don't have the time (or energy) to debate anything, but very good.

I agree. We're going to hell in a handbasket and no one is there to catch us.

If there were just more people who would listen to those who were unhappy, if we could just listen instead of saying what we think should be done, I bet we'd make some gains in diplomacy, the suicide rate would probably go down, and maybe we could avoid bombing someone new every 9 months

But it's not ANGRY bombing. It's DIPLOMATIC bombing, as George W. says all the time. We're HELPING people.

Depressing yet interresting, Blunt but honest. I agree with alot of what you said about the making fun about people and how it effects them, its very true. Just remember what does'nt kill you makes you stronger, except for sniffing glue.. if it does'nt kill you it turns your brain to mush. But relax highschool is highschool and people seem to be a lot more open minded in college. College students seem to just want to learn and hear what others have to say. Peace.

Depressing post, but I think that people can do better than that. I'm not the top guy in the social pyramid either, but you know what? I ignore it. Ignore class distinctions. I haven't gotten in a fight yet. Even if I do get beaten up, which I doubt, I will feel good about suffering for something I believe in.

But what is it that you believe in that people would want to beat you up for? Most of the time they have no other reason than "He's a faggot"

extinction is inevitable, but wishing for it is pointless. Because we'll just come back again eons in the future. The viruses that will outlive us and that have outlived the dinosaurs will continue on, then they'll evolve. Another lifeform will emerge that will resemble the thinking skills of humans. Time is a loop, and will never be understood, just as your statement before.
