I'm not sure how many users out there have Macromedia Fireworks, but I figure that a lot of them have very little clue on how to use it. So my goal in this topic is to show how you can make many great things in Fireworks. If you have questions, or would like to post a tutorial, feel free.

First tutorial is Making A Rope/Wire In A Few Easy Steps. Couple of things are needed if you do not already have them.

This is basically the end effect of what you can create.

After taking a course about it in school I'm actually really good at it. But I suck at drawing. \

God, I feel so out of place here.

Again, an example. Quick tip; if you colorize the first circle rather than making it desaturating it, you can also make some good-looking planets.

I've been working on one that has a little bit to do with water; Creating an Animated Rain Effect. Hope it's good enough.

One of the few drawbacks is that filesize will sometimes come into question. The easiest way to deal with this is to specify 40 KB as your target filesize when exporting. Unfortunately, this will come at the expense of quality and vivid colors. My advice is if you're going to do a rainy sig, then at least make it look rather gloomy. I simply used a grayscale image because it was already such a high resolution to be able to meet filesize in full color. It is possible though, you just need to watch your colors and the amount of frames.

I still managed to make a fairly decent looking sig; albeit in grayscale, but at just under 39 KB.

The Text goes behind the backgrounds...

It may be that you've animated the text for 1 frame less than the tank.
There's an easier way to share objects across frames without using a stationary animation.

I really don't care. This is my personal Fireworks: Main. If a moderator feels that tutorials need to be archived in a single topic, then so be it.

File > Export Wizard (lol). Towards the bottom, there's a box that specifies what the target filesize should be. Simply enter in 40 KB.

Just a quick question.

Is it possible to do all those cool little smoke looking effects in fireworks?

Response to Fireworks Tutorials 2006-09-24 07:35:37

Smoke.

Yeah, smoke's cool; But utterly pointless. Oh, here's how I do it.

Can you have a movie with 2 different frame rates? Say half of the movie with 14 fps and then when it gets to an action sequence change it to 24 fps?
