I've given up on my client, the worthless cunt won't even reply now. I sent him a "please pay me" request in haiku form last, still nothing. It is however nice that I've just got £200+ for my birthday, so I'll stick that in the bank tomorrow and get a server bank online.

What I've thought about doing in the past in a situation like that, is while I'm programming a site for a client, is to create a method that I can pass off to any file on the site. Pass off a hash key, and if the hash key matches, make all of the files delete themselves.

Make the files dependent on the pieces that check for this, so if it's not present, the site will not work. They would probably need someone else to fix the problem.

That's not the problem I have, I took 50% for the work upfront and then I get 50% on final delivery of the product. I got the 50% upfront, developed the site and then showed the client, they asked for a live demo so I uploaded the files without the core features that the site needs to be functional to an end user and he's disappeared. So I have 50% + all the files needed, he has only a few of the files that make the site functional but lack a lot of the core features required.

I'm not in a bad position per se, I still have the final product so without him delivering the money he doesn't get a working site :P

Neither, got a new headset and graphics card and money. I think I'll wait until I live alone to get chickens and until I have a bigger desk for monitors :D

Never really regularly visited the programming forum before, but just the short time I've spent has drawn me in. I try to get out of programming, and it just pulls me right back in! I saw a couple of threads on C++, Java, Action Script, and many others and was a bit inspired to write a few programs just for the heck of it.

I may even get back into creating bots because I've been fascinated with their conception since I've seen them incorporated in just about every video game there is. In fact, I think I may create a bot in an attempt to take down my bot from previous years, which actually beat out everyone else's in my 4th year high school programming class. Considering there were quite a few intelligent people attending the school, I was surprised that I had managed to beat out everyone else especially considering how short my code was.

Ah well, I guess sometimes a small amount of clean code beats out pages of convoluted code when it comes down to run time.

Try writing code thats optimised for parallel execution, one of the main objectives is to eliminate dependencies so you can't use recursion for example. And boom goes your clean, clear code.
