That is, of course, a one sided opinion. Obviously we have our problems, but admitting to them and trying to at least fix them just shows you that we are not. Also, I urge you to say something constructive. If you cannot, please refrain from posting.

I do have to agree with liljim. We need to be patient, no matter how many times someone asks the same questions. Who knows, we might be pushing away the new super-reg to the programming forum.

Lol programmers are a race, now? I forsee very serious problems with that particular idea. That's just a worldwide occupation war waiting to happen... wait.... That could get interesting...

there were BNP protests/riots in birmingham town, yesterday. at one point the party were chanting "who the fuck is allah, allah, allah?" and birmingham was swarmed with riot vans, helicopters, officers patrolling EVERY WHERE. inevitably, the dark skinned and the BNP began being violent, glass shattering and what not, soon you literally just saw a horde of dark-skinned being chased by police, this continued for several hours.

it was a very, very fun day

True, I saw it in the news and if I didn't have anything important to be doing, I would be down their saying hello the the BNP as I do whenever I'm in town on a Saturday and met one of them lol

I heard about the English Defence League march a while back. But to be honest from the pictures I've seen, it looks like a few BNP organisers have rallied normal people into supporting something they don't know much about or something they have only heard the BNPs views on.

Marching against extremists when the government have already prevented people with extreme views entering the country? A march against something that doesn't happen... A march against Mosques? Shows your nothing but a bigoted fuck, march against the Christian church whilst your at it then :)

I'm suspicious of this EDL organisation to be honest

definitely, here is a brief story on it

the officer in focus on the second picture was a lovely fellow, i had a chat with him about pizza before everything kicked off.

there wasn't many BNP supporters in town, in ratio to the amount of protesters, anyway.b ut it appeared there were quite a few (protesters) there 'for the sake of it'

Shows your nothing but a bigoted fuck, march against the Christian church whilst your at it then :)

aye. it's a lot of 'i'm right, you're wrong, fuck you!' to be had around here

I'm sorry, but as much as I don't agree with the BNP - I'm not really sure that the Muslim community have done themselves a whole lot of favors this year. I remember on the news a few months back, there were protests by a group of Muslims as coffins of solders who had died in Iraq were brought back to their home towns. How fucked up is that?

Anyone else remember that? I couldn't find an article about it on BBC.

I wouldn't normally go looking for stuff from the Sun but that seemed an ok report. I do wonder who started though. As it goes organised marches etc have to be stewarded by who ever filled the application to the council. And their is rules you have to follow, like not braking rank, provoking the opposition and rioting.

If the EDL were disciplined then the police should have been able to hold a line against any violent protesters if it was the anti-fascists who started it. But from what I heard the police were trying to stop both sides fighting.

At 9/6/09 04:02 PM, smulse wrote: Anyone else remember that? I couldn't find an article about it on BBC.

I do, they were not protesting dead soldiers. They were protesting returning soldiers on parade through some city. If it were dead soldiers then I wouldn't agree with it. I have more respect than that, and don't think anyone should stoop to that level even though both loyalists and the British state have done it themselves!

Your thinking of this which, even though people may not agree with it. The BBC interviews one of the soldiers who was on the parade and he said it best.

"I am happy people can protest in this country, even if it is against the war we are fighting. After all we are fighting so they can have that voice"

Which is true, the soldiers fighting in a war are only following orders. The government have put them in a position where theirs half a chance they will bomb or kill innocent people. Even if that is not their intention, that's the reality of the war the government have got them fighting. And its not our fight to begin with.

I'm not one bit surprised people are angry at that or protest the army, I just wish they would do more to focus their attention on the government as they are the ones who are to blame.

I wouldn't say it is. While it shouldn't come to rioting. When a group of people are harassed and ignored they tend to take to the streets. The working class in this country are not scared to taking on the government, be it through strike action, pickets, protests or if need be blockades. And I'm actually glad for that. The government are here to serve us.

This cheered me up today :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9KZS0tY1 e8

Funny thing is, if it weren't for Jon constantly writing about all the riots, I wouldn't even know about the situation in the UK. I always just thought they sit and drink tea in the UK and tell dry jokes. Then again, I usually tend to not give a shit about world news...

I agree with Sam 1, it's not about learning, it's about absorbing information. The thing I miss about school is the relaxed atmosphere, outsmarting teachers, pranks, the banter in lessons, going for a smoke whilst hiding in tree's, football at break and dinner, the PE group we got put in that was filled with a bunch of retards who couldn't swing a bat to save there life, etc.

Lessons seemed like such a part of school, and I'd gladly re-live my five years there if I could.

My highschool was ok, I didn't go to a catholic school. I went to a mixed school, so that lead to some problems lol I was called a terrorist and everything. But I done my time and got good enough grades Stuck to the people I knew. I could talk about it more, some of its interesting most of its balls. Although whenever we played football I was either a captin and got to pick a side or got picked first as I was a shit hot goalkeeper!

If it weren't for the fact some of these things divide my family so much to the extent they hate each other and the only they really see each other is if someone dies and were forced to come together our of respect for whoever kicked the bucket. I wouldn't care either. So I thought I might as well try and understand what its about and sort the problems we face, so my wee brother and sisters for example doesn't need to grow up in the the kind of world I did :)

oh and today I killed a wasp that was inside the bus on the way home from work. Much to the relief of the woman sitting beside me, its like the wasps are hiding inside buses to escape the cold or something.

I was brainwashed from an early age with cartoons that indicated that the UK lives on tea. However, much of America IS overweight, sadly. I wish I could deny that, but the lard-buckets in my school only confirm that sad fact. Oh well, at least I'm not fat :D

I fucking hate my family and I couldn't give a fuck how angsty that is.

I have a computer, it's my own, my sister has a laptop, it is her own, my dad has a PC which he rarely uses which functions as the family PC, my brother uses this PC.

Our house is fucking awfully wired, if it rains the electrics fuck up. When my sister uses her laptop the ADSL connection drops constantly, every couple of minutes, this is because of how fuck awful the house wiring is. We have constant drop outs anyway, almost at least ever hour.

So my sister has to use the family computer, this has been going on for at least a month now because HER laptop makes the internet disconnect every few minutes, so when SHE uses HER laptop the internet fucks up for EVERYONE.

I've told her to get fucked, I won't let her use her laptop because when she uses it the internet dies for EVERYONE, not just me. Apparently I'm being selfish because I'm the one who uses my PC for 12 hours a day and I'm causing the problem.

I fucking hate people, so fucking much. SHE causes the fucking problem and expects me to let her cause it? I've prevented her from making the internet just about usable for EVERYONE, not just myself. I want to kill something.
