My storage drives mainly hold video, pics and audio recordings of various things that I keep as a record. Then theirs family pics, videos. My music, games, programs and downloaded stuff.
I'm basically gonna move them all onto the one drive and have it as a slave drive so I can just unplug it and turn it into a portable drive if I need to take stuff somewhere.
don't you think it'll be worth using the 330/110GB for backup purposes? i have a 40gb master with my OS on and a 500GB slave, I get awfully paranoid because I have limited back up choices
hello
Nah it costs near £100 for a Blu-ray writer, in a year or so when that comes down in price and the disks also. I will use them as my main back-up solution. I used to use CDs for a while DVD was a complete let down for me. So much trouble, so I have been using hard drives for as long as I can. Holding off for Blu-ray.
Currently, I'm saving up for a 250GB SSD (the good ones that are actually better than SATA for both read/write times as well as access times, not just access times).

Give me a link to this new fangled technology (if you have one)..... My priority now is capacity but that dose sound useful for a few reasons. Are Apple behind this in any way? Seeing as they have that skinny ass mackbook air or whatever that has a 64GB SSD if I remember right...

That one (listed on both my personal favourite PC part sites) is one of the best you can get. 250MB/s Read and 160MB/s Write. Almost all the ones of the same size are half or less those speeds (competing with top of the line standard disk drives).

Cheers for that, interesting. But £549 I could build a new PC for that! Although two of them in a RAID arry would be the shit for a gaming machine. Aye get an nVidia Tesla and bung two if them in and your sorted :)
i'm building a new computer next week, after payment comes through, i'm so psyched to be going from 1.5GB of ram to a mighty 4GB!
:D

Get 8GB, it's not actually that much more than 4GB and it's fucking swish!
I will present my e-peen a bit by saying Quad Core Q6600, 8GB of PC8500, a WD Raptor 300GB (new one) and a HD4870x2 makes for an intense gaming experience. But pumps out considerable amounts of heat (especially the graphics card, looking at around 80 Celsius on a stock cooler).
I will use Far Cry 2 as a base, even though I really don't like it, and say to you I was getting (when using Windows) a constant 60FPS (dipped to 59 and peaked at 61, due to V-Sync) throughout on MAX settings in game and Anti Aliasing on 32x (Bicubic [I think it's called]) and Anisotropic Filtering on 32x in Catalyst control centre. Looked as good as you can ever get.
/ramble /e-peen /single tear for the enviroment
On second thoughts though, if you have the money get an i7 with 12GB RAM, those things are CRAZY fast.
See now with the specs thats just taking it too far for a home PC...You could run some heavy physics simulations with that. And you won't be doing that every day. Sooooo its spending money that doesn't need to be spent...!
Oh and The Bhoys just beat Dynamo Moscow 2:0 (2:1 agg) And the Huns across the road are are ragin :D
Mon the hoops :)

Who says that? You can never take a computer to far.
Also, I have folding@home running 24/7 on one of my CPU's, I often do video editing (Premiere is booted up at least 3 times a week for a good few hours) which is something that needs a serious graphics card to do easily, and a large amount of RAM and CPU for compression etc.

Aye, they held on. Championship starts on Saturday, and Newcastles first game is on BBC1 :)

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Muffin!
Also, those who go out and work have to put up with colds and still go. We can't just have 3 days off for something like that. Hell my place would probably fire you.

I don't have the patience to make Gentoo work :(

Meh, I used to say I'm sick too, but there was no keeping me in bed, I always spent that time in front of the computer making something.
You should make yourself a cup of linden tea and drink it while it's still hot and also try to inhales the steam a bit.
The linden tea contains a natural calming agent so it should stop you coughing a bit, inhaling the hot steam will help clear your sinuses so they won't drip that much anymore and drinking the tea while it was hot always helped me when I had a sore throat.
Well here's something that I would like to say about computers:
I think they're great!
Just chillin' like always.
The Sheriff court has over-turned a decision made by the local council and police to ban an Orange walk near where I live, in a predominantly catholic town. 3000 in the walk, this number dose not include anybody who wants to watch or follow on the pavement.
Time to stare the loyalists down again, I just hope this new walk doesn't start off a whole new era of fighting in my area...
I'm tired of fighting lads and lassies, here's hoping democracy and peaceful protest actually works in this day and age. Doubt it though....Not in Scotland anyway! Have to fight tooth and nail for fucking everything >:[

Not been around as much recently, been really busy on a show (pics attatched).
Took a day to build the set (big curved structure) and hang all the lights. Programmed and tech/dress rehearsal the day after then it opened last night. Photos are from the opening night taken by people in the crowd, found them on twitter. Might post a few more pics if I come across them.
