Regardless of how much / little truth is in this sentence, "just work" != "all their staff are competent". So it could have been Apple.

This is the #1 reason to not like couriers! Sure they do the job but they are not careful enough, and it costs a business money and stress.

And that is why you should never purchase fragile electronics over the internet. I actually went to a physical Apple store and bought my Mac there. It was more expensive and I didn't get any savings that you might get online, but I did get it all in one piece.

I wouldn't go that far. I've bought plenty of motherboard and parts from eBay saved a ton and never had a problem. But I would not but expensive stuff from eBay like a laptop, theirs too much money to be lost.

FIg rolls are the shit, took my mind away from the damn boring routine of:
- bus to work (1 hour)
- work
- bus home (1-2 hours)
- dealing with shit at home
- staying up too late for no reason making me feel tired the next day
- bus to work (1 hour)
-....

That has destroyed my spirit over the past few months. Their are more intricate details to each of thoes steps that are boring or annoying but thats my day as is stands now. I need a holiday.

Aye were all slaves to the our wage or pay cheque. But I'm too tired to go on a mad rant about socialism so I won't bother. Need to dedicate some of my time to figuring out how to beat the system. Ah this honest living shit is balls sometimes :[

Hey Afro-Ninja or Mr Potato can you make a special rule that stops people from using the crying smily when making threads? Please........ I can't stand it as much as I can't stand fake smiling!

"emote-18.gif" should be removed from thread emoticons!!!!

I wouldn't go that far either. I wouldn't trust buying any expensive electrical items via eBay; but I bought direct from Apple and companies are obviously aware that from time to time things might turn up damaged and have procedures in place for when that happens. They offered me a refund straight away if I wanted one or to see if it could be fixed under warranty. So I'm not losing any money, I just won't have my laptop for another week or so.

It's definitely not put me off buying online any more.

See I am kind of the opposite to you at the moment, I have a couple of shows lined up that I am designing but apart from that I have nothing on. I'd like more work. It's not even about the money really. But I like working, I like the job I do and the people that I meet doing it.

I guess there's a line between how much work you should do, and time you should spend on yourself. It takes time to get there, but if you're in a job you love doing, and you get to be the best at it then you won't be a slave to anything for long.

Aye their is a line, but even if I was doing something I liked to do. If I had to do it over and over again and their was no creativity then it would probaly suck the life out of it. But doing what I'm doing now even though its getting tough, it sure as hell beats doing an even more dull routine in a garage. And getting covered in muck constantly.

Yeah that's true. I love my job in that respect, I am paid to be creative... and the more creative I am the better. It can be dull from time to time there is a lot of waiting around and some jobs are just so boring - but actually designing and running shows, being on the desk, man, nothing beats the atmosphere. I love it.

Also how fitting to the conversation... it's good and bad news I guess. I am busy on jobs for 6 weeks solid starting in about 2 weeks time. Ohh dear?

Plus one of my mates got to light a La Senza runway shoot. Lucky guy.

Are those things invite only? I always assumed they were open to the public just nobody could be arsed going to look at models or madly exaggerated fashion trends that are gonna hit the high-street and "be in this summer" yet you don't see any lassies wearing them.

It depends, a lot of them are invite only or internal events for people just in the company (like all the store managers etc) so they can have a look at all the new products that they're going to be stocking over the next year.

There's things like Clothes Show Live that anyone can get tickets for, but more prestigious runways you'd have to either be invited, have lots of money, be a photographer, or have important friends in the fashion world.

So I'm sitting at my computer doing the usual procrastination and I notice on twitter that "#MrsSlocombesPussy" is trending, so I click it and nothing comes up: "No Results to display", I find this strange so I try again and get the same result. I assumed twitter was broken, so I send an email to techcrunch saying:

Top trending: #MrsSlocombesPussy
Search for it results in nothing: http://twitter.com/#search?q=MrsSlocombe sPussy

Twitter is broken!

Assuming they'd tell me to shut up and go away like usual, or make a story about how twitter is blocking legitimate hashtags based upon the contents, then I go back to wasting my time, 5 minutes later I go to tech crunch and find that they've published the story, "Awesome!" I think. That was until I read it: They did the story on "Spam invades twitter again!" when the story wasn't that, so they've now got >50 comments laughing at them for being idiots.

10 minutes later ANOTHER massive tech blog copies the story, which is totally wrong. Isn't it awesome: I've just caused 2 huge blogs to look like complete idiots, shame techcrunch credited me with the idiocy :D

Ah right, didn't think that they used them that way with the store managers etc, but it makes sense. Wonder if Ann Summers dose something similar to demonstrate her products :) But that's cool, you can be my important insider in the fashion world if I ever get the urge to pervy up some models.

On a completely random tangent here, I have a frame from a Datsun 240Z. Nice, rusted, et al. Does anyone know if a machine shop can build an AutoCAD file using the frame as a template, so a brand new one can be made?
