Pub.

in other news, do any of you more experienced players know how to buy a domain in which a (bastard) squatter has nabbed? those do my head in.

It's virtually impossible and not really worth bothering trying to do. Pick a different domain or a different extension for it.

In all honesty you would probably be quicker tracking them down, killing them off and freeing all the domains they are squatting on! However the domain company they are using might be against this practice so it might be worth a try approaching them! Let them know you have a site you want to make etc.

You could always try and con the domain company into transferring it to you. If you've ever seen that documentary on channel5 about "sex.com" you will know what I'm talking about, its actually an interesting story.

Owning a pub...Now theirs an attractive life goal from 10 years ago :P

They say all the pubs are going bust. Well their is at least one out of the 40-50 I pass on the bus each day that has a "to let" thing on it, but I still see people standing outside smoking. And a pub that shutdown a few months ago is back open again...

And now a need to head to bed :[

Truth. Depending on what the name is, you could try claiming intellectual property of it (if it's your name, or a company or trademark registered to you etc) you'd probably have to go to court though. Else there's nothing you really can do unless you decided to buy it off the squatter.

along with what jon said, there must be SOMEWHERE you want to go in life, it's time for a reality check, you can't just sit around and expect things to work out because you have a "plan". i'm not trying to put you down or anything, you just gotta realise what you want in life, and now is the time to start grabbing for it!

None of that matters. If you're doing it for your parents, friends, family, you're doing it for the wrong people and for the wrong reasons. Whatever you want to do in life it has to be for yourself. You call your own shots.

If there's something you love doing, then what more motivation do you need?

eh, i never said he'd do it for any one else, sure, wanting to prove everyone wrong can give some incentive to succeeding, but it shouldn't be the single focus point.

motivation may not equal work. some people are born with the natural instincto work their socks off, some need a push, daniel, being one of those people.

I'd say I'm an on-off cigarette smoker. When I go drinking I usually polish off a 20 pack but on a regulae day I'll either have a couple or none at all. I actually haven't had one since last friday so... As for cigars I usually save them for really special occasions but like I said, I've got the urge :P

1AM :O I didn't no parties started at that time. Usually we crack open the first can at 5pm and keep going for as long as possible, 3am-5am most nights.

Thank you, I'm going to grab a cup of tea though, I recently had my appendix removed and I try to keep away from alcohol for now. I was terrified it was going to affect my finals, but it wasn't that bad. In fact it had a lesser impact on my grades than my tiny projects ( got together a group of gaming enthusiasts to try and make a space simulator, something similar to freespace )

That sounds interesting, what kind of exam?

I just love Twitter, it's a fantastic source of real-time news. AIM went down about 50 minutes ago, and I wasn't sure if it was just me or not. So I search AIM on Twitter and find thousands of other people complaining about the servers being down. And a few minutes ago my friend claimed MJ died, so I take a look on Twitter to see that one of the trending topics was "RIP Michael Jackson."

My $0.02 on Twitter.

If it were not so late I would go hunting for the page, it was a right laugh though. Someone just came out with it and then folks just described it in more detail adding on fake stories about "when they took the regs test" then I think it was afro who said something like "it wasn't as hard as the mods test"

At 6/25/09 06:29 PM, urbn wrote: Jon, I have to say I fucking love how to *write* Scottish...

HaHa thats cool, well I try to keep it understandable, communication is important no point writing something people can't read, I'm only thankful the people here don't despise me for my horrid grammer. Although if a were to type how I spoke phonetically then it would not make any sense.

You have the Glaswegian dialect which has really become widespread in Scotland and you now see that dialect trying to make the transition to text and it just doesn't work. I can still read it but its a challenge.

Random example: http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId =6630826337 (first profile I found that was public)

Aye twtter is no bad for the news a will say, I'm using it to save myself having to install an RSS reader. Sad day for MJ fans, wonder how that mental flash portal thing that's attracted us all here like moths to a flame will react to this.

You actually done quite well, feel sorry for me! When I get txt messages I have to decipher that but the even more complex txt message version of it...! Who needs encryption eh!

Anyway:

- She stiys in tollcross = she stays in Tollcross.
- She's single (?) correct.
- "and she loves her breakfast" it was actually, she loves her buckfast
- shes A proddie till she dies = shes a Protestant (till she dies) = shes a loyalist also :) related link

haha, a scottish algorithm sure beats the hell out of any other security measure, that's for sure.

Anyway:

- She stiys in tollcross = she stays in Tollcross.

thought it'd be something like that...

- She's single (?) correct.

hooray :D

- "and she loves her breakfast" it was actually, she loves her buckfast

ah, damn. now how would i have known that, maybe i was trying too hard

- shes A proddie till she dies = shes a Protestant (till she dies) = shes a loyalist also :) related link

now looking back, this one just seems obvious.

Fortunately I am originally from Scotland so some of the "slang" is easier to understand, but after being down South for so long my accent is all but softied up. Anyway, I digress. I still digg (:P) Scottish accents being written down ;)

Apparently, Michael Jackson's dead. Oh well. I didn't like his music very much, so it's no big loss for me. However what sucks is that my internet is lagging like hell thanks to everybody in the world IM'ing/Tweeting/Facebooking/etc. about Jacko's death.

How do you mean coincidental?

Anyway, my heads in pieces but it's been so much worse. Think it's down to the fact that I actually had a fair bit to eat when drinking. Really helps keep the drink in check and sober me up. Gonna spend the day in bed watching Wimbledon and sleeping it off.

Speaking of Wimbledon, anyone else following it?

So, I just got back from DC. Interestingly enough, all of the public parking garages now require federal ids.

Also, some of the taxi cabs now have "Call 911" signs on top of them. Anyone know what that is all about?

Hmm, that's interesting! I just arrived back from DC recently, too. I was there during the week of the Holocaust museum's shooting. I left before the week from the Metro crash, too :O.
