On the subject of laptops and stuff, it always annoyed me that the internet was always so strictly regulated at my high school. Most sites relevant to any subject I was researching, especially computer-related, would always be blocked... could never get anything done.
I say, restrict internet ACCESS, not internet SITES (except the obvious black list ones, like porn, spam sites, etc.). They used to keyword block sites, so any site that said 'game' too much was blocked. This effectively would stop me from accessing many programming tutorials during comp sci class!
Oh well, I guess we all got over it.
